Guest gwf0704 Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 I dont mind Heyman being his manager to draw heat, but interfering in his matches by stopping pinning combos and such actually makes Lesnar seem beatable. Dont know if the WWE knows the mixed signals it is sending as they want to portray Lesnar as this unstoppable beast, yet he needs help to set up his finisher. PS: I am really interested in seeing Rhyno v Lesnar!!!!!
Guest Army Eye Posted June 25, 2002 Report Posted June 25, 2002 ok, look, Brock doesn't get much of an audible crowd reaction, but I don't think it is just crowd apathy. I think the fans are plenty interested in seeing him, but they haven't been given much of a reason to boo him. He hasn't cut any heel promos. He doesn't really cheat at all. His power moves are damn impressive. What's not to like? If they turned him face this minute I'm sure he'd get good face pops. If they want him to get heel heat, then Brock needs to be more of a heel. And for the most part, the only sure-fire way to do that these days is to be able to cut a good heel promo and/or be a coward (hopefully not in Brock's future), when you consider that cheating, foreign objects, beatdowns, run-ins, and even male-on-female violence are so commonly done by babyfaces. What he did to RVD on Raw is a good start to heeldom. It was a pretty evil thing to do, and done to one of the top faces, but it would help a ton if he could talk too. Having Heyman as a mouthpiece is good, but it's not enough. Managers have been so phased out by the WWE that fans expect the wrestlers themselves to do the talking. Take for example the various incarnations of The Corporation. Having Vince McMahon, the ultimate heel, as your mouthpiece, seems like a dream situation for a heel, right? But when it came down to it, the only guys who REALLY got over as heels in the Corporation were Rock, Taker, and HHH. Guys like Shamrock, Test, Bossman, etc. never got over as heels in The Corporation despite all the pushes, face beatdowns, etc. because they couldn't cut a promo to save their lives, and that's what it takes these days. RVD is an interesting exception. Poor promo skills and he is very over, but that's as a face. He completely failed to get over as a heel in the Alliance. (True, the Alliance was a suck-ass angle in general) I'd be interested to see him really try and be a heel someday but I wouldn't bet on him pulling it off.
