Guest CanadianChick Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Anglesault, don't you think that it is a compliment to Anlge's abilities for him to be a stepping stone to the top. It obviously means that he is the best at putting others over.
Guest Anglesault Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 1. I have to go on what I've seen. And that is WCW to Early WWF career. 2. Debatable. 3. Well, they can't keep doing that forever. Are you DARING them? Anglesault, don't you think that it is a compliment to Anlge's abilities for him to be a stepping stone to the top. It obviously means that he is the best at putting others over. I think it's a WASTE of his abilities.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Anglesault, don't you think that it is a compliment to Anlge's abilities for him to be a stepping stone to the top. It obviously means that he is the best at putting others over. Angle is too insanely talented to be used as a stepping stone. He should be one of, if not *the* guy, that guys should be stepping up to.
Guest CanadianChick Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 I didn't say that he should be a stepping stone, I was just pointing out that the WWE thinks that he is so good and over that he can easily put up-and-comers over.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 1. I have to go on what I've seen. And that is WCW to Early WWF career. Well, that may be a bit premature. I liked him in WCW, but we've already agreed that he was green. His WWF tenure consisted of a run-in w/ Palumbo, and getting squashed by Kane & UT (while getting virtually *no* offense in). He's got some seasoning under his belt in OVW. Give him a couple matches, and then judge him again.
Guest Anglesault Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 And I'm just saying that this a stupid waste. That should be Hogan's job. (In all fairness, it pretty much is.)
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 I didn't see Smackdown! because it was pre-empted by Red Sox baseball. From everything that I have heard, Cena is the most impressive wrestler in the "OVW Class of 2002". But unlike most of the smart marks on the Internet, I will hold out on further judgment until I, you know, actually see him wrestle. As far as Sting goes...the last thing the WWE needs right now is another middle-aged born-again Christian.

He MIGHT have improved. He MIGHT NOT have.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Have any of those guys wrestled Angle yet? Next week, Test beats Cena. I'd like to see how John works with a subpar oponent. You make it sound like Angle was complete and total gold when he was working with Shawn Stasiak and Taz.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 The ruthless agression catchphrase sucks no matter who says it and I would say that you were copying your assesment of Cena from Scott Keith, but I was thinking the same thing as well. He reminds me of Sting from the 80's witthout face paint, hair that has been died and spiked and the colorful tights. Anglesault, if you insist on injecting every thread with vitriole towards anything non-Angle please do it in the No Holds Barred folder. Had Cena wrestled the same match against Triple H, you wouldn't say shit. Big fucking deal if you don't like how Angle put Cena over, Angle can't win every match in a dominant fashion. I'm tired of you steering topics towards how much you think Angle gets screwed just like I'm tired of hearing about how much Triple H sucks in every thread. It's old, it's lame and it's annoying.
Guest Anglesault Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 The matches weren't actively BAD. They just weren't good. At all. That's the best you are getting out of Stasiak and Tazz.
Guest CanadianChick Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 I actually think that Tazz is better than what he was in that match, but the match wasn't bad or anything.
Guest SuperTonyJaymz Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Back to the actual topic, the reason Cena is alot like Sting is because he was trained by the same guy who trained/found Sting. Thats seem alike.
Guest humongous2002 Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 All I'm thinking it's that Angle at least it's a professional guy that doesn't mind giving someone the rub, compared to those that hate doing the job like Mean Mark, HGH, Austin, and HBK. What the weewee needs now it's new blood otherwise there wont be a WWE, and Angle will go back to wrestling in the olympics for medals.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 The matches weren't actively BAD. They just weren't good. At all. That's the best you are getting out of Stasiak and Tazz. The same could be said for this one, but you bitch and moan anyway. Last night's show had a whole lot of Kurt. Two promos (one a challenge for the World Title) and a match that was good enough that I think Kurt ought to join Benoit when it comes to the Broomstick Rule (SK's rule of Benoit being able to have at least a *** match with a broomstick.) I'd seen this guy in a dark match just a little over a week ago and while he was okay for a crowd starved for some wrestling, he seemed a little slow and still inexperienced. Kurt then went and made him look like a million bucks, while doing most the work. A guy named Ric Flair did that a lot. He got a good reputation and respect from it.
Guest Downhome Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 ... and I would say that you were copying your assesment of Cena from Scott Keith, but I was thinking the same thing as well. He reminds me of Sting from the 80's witthout face paint, hair that has been died and spiked and the colorful tights. Actually you are mistaken. I have never, not once in my life, read or seen anything by this Scott Keith guy. I do not even know where all of you go TO read this. All I know about him is that everyone else seems to read what he does, that is it.
Guest Anglesault Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 A guy named Ric Flair did that a lot. He got a good reputation and respect from it. Ric Flair was also massivley over and could never lose his heat. And he held the (WWF or WCW) championship 16 times. At this rate, three is it for Angle.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Ric Flair was also massivley over and could never lose his heat. So, what do you want to do? You want Kurt to retain his heat with the marks, so when Kurt makes Hogan tap you'll say it is a bad match. Time to complain on the Internet. He could go have a match with like Rock or RVD and draw heat, but it'll be a bad match and/or the styles won't match. Time to complain on the Internet. Kurt can have a decent match with a guy who isn't so bulked he can't move, but he's supposedly losing heat by bumping around. Time to complain on the Internet. The very matter of him being in the World Title picture still even after two months with Edge and one month with Hogan, to me, speaks volumes that he's not losing "over points," if you want to call them that.

Guest claydude14 Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 why does it seem like every thread turns into anglesault bitching about young guys and shoving angle down our throats? give it a rest, we know your an angle mark.
Guest TheMikeSC Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 I think a first impression can tell you alot. It shows the style he westles (Basic/boring) his endurance (Good) his mic skils(or delivery, in a case liek this) (Bad) his character (Anyone know what it might be?) It showed me that he can't throw a punch. Don't just dismiss first impressions. They can show you a lot. >>> Just checking---did you see Angle's first PPV match in the WWF? I did and it was absolutely terrible. Crowd was dead and the match, to be generous, sucked a dick. Somehow, he got better over time. -=Mike
Guest Vyce Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 I don't want a new Sting. I very much love the old Sting fine, thank you. I miss you, Steve Borden. Please stay the hell away from the WWE, I don't want to see you have to job to Rikishi or Bradshaw. Now if the NWA starts calling..... You know, as much as I hear that Sean O'Haire is so damn green, from what I saw of him in WCW, he's STILL a good deal better than a lot of the current hosses on the roster.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 When was the last bad Rock/Angle match? I didn't think the champ match at whatever pay per view (Steph was managing Kurt at the time and Rock was using "tick tock" as a catchphrase) was as great as advertised, but perhaps that's just me. Regardless, this is HOW you get new guys in there. Not jobbing them to Crash Holly on Heat.
Guest Nevermortal Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Last Rock/Angle PPV match was...No Way Out 2001, and that match kicked ass. Maybe you're referring to another one...
Guest Blue Bacchus Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Yay, the future of the WWF: John Cena, Shawn O'Haire and Edge. Count ME out. Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 I think I see what Anglesault wants now. 1) Angle should never lose to anyone other than a well established main eventer, and only on PPV. Preferably major ones. 2) If his opponent happens to be less than a well established main eventer, he should absolutely dominate them, including not selling for their offense. 3) He should beat everyone, cleanly, with his finisher. 4) He should never be less than main event, or ever look weak. Which leads me to believe Anglesault's ideal version of Kurt comes out to.. Stone Cold Hulk Hogan. -Shiro
Guest evenflowDDT Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Regardless, this is HOW you get new guys in there. Not jobbing them to Crash Holly on Heat. When was the last time anyone jobbed to Crash Holly? Thank you! Seriously though, I remember when Randy Orton and The Undertaker worked a pretty good match, and now Orton's just another jobber. What's the difference between him and this Cena guy? I missed Smackdown... does Cena REALLY look THAT much like Sting? If so, could it be some sort of way for the WWE to get cheap/weird nostalgia ex-WCW guys heat?
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted June 29, 2002 Report Posted June 29, 2002 Anglesault is treating pro wrestling as if it was a legit sport, where you can only root for one team. Guess what? This is entertainment, and you can like more than one wrestler. From what I understand, you hate big men and you hate cruisers and you also hate young blue chippers. So who DO you like besides KURT ANGLE?!
