Guest raptor Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 Who wouldn't admit this? They are the only consistentley entertaining thing on Raw, and Goldust is starting to bust out his old "The Natural" moveset. They're the reason the tag belts should be floating, so they can take them.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 I don't love Goldust or Booker T. Booker T has to be the most overrated wrestler in the business right now. Everybody's like, "Push him, push him." He hasn't had a great match since the Best of 7 series with Benoit, for Christ's sake. That was FOUR YEARS ago. And unlike some of the other young guys waiting for their break, Booker T has been given opportunities to main event and been paired with good workers (i.e. Rock, Jarrett, etc.). He's just not main event caliber.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 Goldust and Booker T are actually, as far as I can tell, an innovation in wrestling gimmicks, sorta. They're sort of "the wacky tag team that hates each other" only they don't really hate each other. Uh...Rock n' Sock ring any bells?
Guest bob_barron Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 Booker T isn't main event calibre??? The fans love him and he gets great pops. You would have shitty matches too if you had to work with Harlem Heat 2000. He had some great matches with Angle last year and I really enjoyed the Summerslam main event. I'm glad the WWE has finally realised the talents of the 5-time WCW Champion. SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKA!
Guest BigTim2002 Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 Dude, Goldust The Crocodile Hunter and Booker T the Money Man...I love em both. "Remember the names of Booker T...and GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLDUST!" SUCKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Being main event level talent doesn't mean you are a ***** wrestler. As long a wrestler is charismatic they can make it to the top. Look at the Rock.
Guest Prince Paul Posted June 30, 2002 Report Posted June 30, 2002 Damn right. When Booker is out there, you can tell he loves everything he is doing.

Hey, I'm sure this guy knows what he is talkin' about man. I mean, i see the logic in pushing Test..........................yes, that was an insult SUUUCCCCKKKKAAAAAAAA Booker T rules brotha' This has been the Taker Mark
Guest What?! Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 They do indeed rule. Only reason that makes Raw entertaining. Hell, I put Booker on my sig he rules that much. SUUUUUCKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Guest Ash Ketchum Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 Imagine if Goldust did a "This Is Your Life" segment for Booker T. That'd kick ass
Guest Prince Paul Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 Imagine if Goldust did a "This Is Your Life" segment for Booker T. That'd kick ass Oh my god! The smark in me would hope it wouldn't go over 15 minutes. But I'd really be laughing my ass off, I'm sure.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 So you consider Jeff Jarrett main event level talent, but not Booker T? Read my post. I never said Jeff Jarrett was a main event level talent. I said he was a "good worker". That's all. Being main event level talent doesn't mean you are a ***** wrestler. As long a wrestler is charismatic they can make it to the top. Look at the Rock. Uh...The Rock, in addition to being charismatic, delivers ****+ matches on the last time I checked. Booker T doesn't. Let's see Rock's resume: WrestleMania X-7 w/ Austin Backlash 1999 w/ Austin Capital Carnage (?) w/ X-Pac (Might have been some other U.K. PPV...) Survivor Series 2000 w/ Rikishi No Way Out 2001 w/ Kurt Angle No Mercy 2000 w/ Kurt Angle Backlash 2000 w/ HHH SummerSlam 1998 w/ HHH Fully Loaded 2000 w/ Chris Benoit No Mercy 2001 w/ Y2J Vengeance 2001 w/ Y2J WrestleMania X-8 w/ Hogan (Say what you want about the actual wrestling, you know the match rocked...) Some say that the Mick Foley series were really good, but I didn't care for any of them. And I'm probably forgetting a whole bunch. But there's a dozen right there. Booker T has YET to have a ****+ singles match in the WWE, or a ****+ match since 199 freakin' 8, despite how "great" everybody says he is. When Booker can pull a **** match out of RIKISHI -- or anyone except for Chris Benoit -- let me know. The SummerSlam main event last year was not a great match, it was a major let-down. It was *** tops, and I don't blame The Rock. I agree with Scott Keith's critique of the match: Booker T needs to make some serious changes to become a ****+ guy. And I think that that statement holds true today. He's just not that GOOD. Athletic? Yes. Good? No. BTW, in the now-famous KOR 2002 promo, Goldust and Rock totally stole the show. They made that promo, Booker was just...there. And Rock totally out-classed Booker as far as *natural* charisma goes. What does Booker have? A spinarooni and a stupid catchphrase? It takes a lot of charisma to shout "Sucka!" at the top of your lungs. It was like the minute that The Rock entered the picture, you went, "Wow, Booker T is just bush league." And for the record, I'm not even a Rock mark. I hate it when he butchers the Sharpshooters and I find his promo style to be a knock-off of Ric Flair and waay too hyper. But he has better matches than Booker T, better mic skills than Booker T, a better look/natural star power than Booker T, and more natural charisma than Booker T.
Guest RetroRob215 Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 When Booker can pull a **** match out of RIKISHI -- or anyone except for Chris Benoit -- let me know. Do you really consider Rock vs. Rikishi to be ****? The Rock has good matches when he is against a good opponent who can carry his ass. I can't think of one match where the Rock has carried his opponent to a great match. It has always been the other way around.
Guest bob_barron Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 What was stupid as hell... But it got over. There ya' go. Sucka may not be highly intellectual but its easy to say, can be said anytime and IS OVER. Therfore its a good one. Angle, Austin, HHH, Y2J, Benoit- saaaaaay those guys are all awesome in the ring. I like Rock a lot but when he faces Taker the match sucks. Booker T had some good matches v. Steiner and had a good series with Double J. He also had good matches with Kanyon and Sting but Booker also feuded with Rick Steiner and other crap in WCW. Hell he got a decent match out of Nash. Rock didn't. True his feud with Harlem Heat sucked but Rock couldnt carry Ahmed to a good match either. Booker T isnt a great worker by any means, he's a good wrestler who goes out, has a good match and has the crowd entertained. The KOTR promo was a mixture of all three IMO. I was at MSG last night and he got an amazing pop for anything he did. And what did the crowd yell when they heard his theme song? SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKA
Guest Ravenbomb Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 Yes, they are funny and entertaining. Their characters bounce off of each other almost perfectly. That's right, almost perfectly. They need one thing to make them the greatest tag team in the history of the word tag team............................... .........Stilts........ That's all they need. Stilts. They'd do promo's in them, wrestle in them, everything... ...Stilts... Uckaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasay!!!
Guest M Nyland Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 I still think that "Hollywood Heat" would be a great name for them. BookDust works though...easier to type or whatever. next week.... Goldust becomes Julia Child and makes some special brownies for RVD...hilarity ensues Hilarity Ensuing = Ratings!
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 They are my heroes. Everyone's said it, but I'll say it again: Booker and Goldust are why I watch Raw. These two finally have a niche, and they're having an absolute blast out there, slowly moving up the card and getting more and more over every week. If, say, a year ago, someone had told me that Booker T and Dustin Runnels would be the best things about the WWF, I'd have laughed in their face. Now, I am a believer.
Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 Booker T isnt a great worker by any means, he's a good wrestler who goes out, has a good match and has the crowd entertained. Good...then we agree that he should remain an entertaining mid-carder and not contaminate the main event scene.
Guest C.H.U.D. Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 Good...then we agree that he should remain an entertaining mid-carder and not contaminate the main event scene. No, he needs to be IN the main event scene, because it sucks ass right now and he is better than anyone involved with it currently (UT, HHH, Hogan).
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 How long before we see the "Gold-aroonie?!!!!!
Guest bob_barron Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 I've seen it- he did it at MSG and it's pretty awesome.
