Guest TheSmarkzone Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 Good luck picking just one. Without a shadow of a doubt, I'm gonna go with Bret vs. Stone Cold from WrestleMania 13, the bloodbath. Their encounter at the Survivor Series was a better pure wrestling match, but their match at Mania was just genius. Probably the best finish I've ever seen and ever will see. It's been replayed so many times that I think the original impact has been lost. But if you were watching it live on pay-per-view at the time, you were like, "Wow." Keep in mind that we all knew that Austin was tough and one mean motherfucker, but not giving up in the Sharpshooter was UNHEARD of at the time. It just did not happen. That's why Austin was so crazy over after that match.

Ooh, forgot about that one. Though not his best, my other fave Hitman matches are Piper/Bret WM8, and his match with Perfect at SS 91.
Guest Austin3164life Posted July 1, 2002 Report Posted July 1, 2002 I think in terms of the "Elite 5", the five wrestlers who can have a good match with almost anyone, it's gotta be Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Ricky Steamboat, and Steve Austin. Whenever you talk about 4-5 star matches, these are the names that you usually see spring up. BTW, Bret vs. Perfect at Summerslam 91 was excellent too.......

That being said, of the 5-6 great ***** matches of Bret's that I've seen I would vote Bret vs. Owen WMX as the best.

The Cage Match was also great, and one of the most logical Cage Matches I've ever seen. honorable mentions goes to Austin Survior Series and Wrestlemania 13. And the underrated Piper match at Wrestlemania 8.
