Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted July 2, 2002 This week's edition of Raw did a 3.6 cable rating, which is down from last week and continues the recent trend for the show. We should have the hours in a little while. Credit; 1Wrestling.com

Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted July 2, 2002 Considering that it looked like the WWE tried to put on a good show, that's a bad sign for Vince and crew......
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted July 2, 2002 It just proves there isn't no point in hot shotting angles. Nothing is gonna help, so just keep steady storylines (like they have been, some what) going and pushing new talent.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted July 2, 2002 The newer guys are not ratings draws yet, so the ratings aren't going to jump even if the show is good. It may take months. Hopefully WWE realizes this and doesn't change direction for the 6,000 time. If they build them, they will get more credibility with the casual fans too and ratings will begin to increase. Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted July 2, 2002 It's a shame really. Last night, they really tried and I'll be damned if they didn't deliver. Nikowwf is right though. Instead of getting scared and scrapping what they are doing, they need to build on it. It seems some things are headed down the right path.

Guest Prince Paul Report post Posted July 2, 2002 Well the ratings Paul? What else. You guys got used to mediocrity, it's sad. You do know that's a whole lotta people watching RAW don't you. Sure it's disappointing compared to 5.7's and higher numbers, but this is how it will be for a while. It's called rebuilding. And last night showed a lot of promise. What was it that you thought was so terrible about last night. And I didn't get used to mediocrity, I got used to shit for a couple of weeks, so last night was better by far. Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted July 2, 2002 What WWE needs to do is see this as a rebuilding phase and just keep at the pace of yesterday's Raw and last weeks SD. The ratings are not going to turnaround in a week or even a month. I don't see anything in this company turning around for at least 6 months. That is about the time they need to develop some new stars. WWE cannot panic and do something like "bury Benoit and push Bradshaw". That mentality is ignorant. Even with Rock coming back on 7/11, it is not going to spike anything because the last couple of shows have shown no growth after he did the surprise appearance 2 weeks ago. That should've brought some curious fans in to see if Rock would be back on, but it didn't draw anything at all. That is scary because now the casuals don't even care if Rock is back. They just need some new blood out there. Bottom line: This should be seen as rebuilding time until fall or winter. Quit going for the quick fix and just get your product to be better. Guest Goodear Report post Posted July 2, 2002 Raw ratings down QUICK BURY RVD AND BENOIT PUSH BRADSHAW Did you happen to know that Molly sleeps with goats? You don't hear about it much because she's Baaaaaashful.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted July 2, 2002 Anyway, the thing about ratings is that they aren't really reflective of the quality of that particular program. Especially when you're dealing with the no-reruns-here WWE programming. If the shows are better week in and week out, the ratings will improve over time. You won't pop a rating bringing in a new star or having a big match unless you hype them prior to the event. The Undertaker-Angle match was a good direction to go in that its not really giving up a PPV draw match but it is still interesting enough to bring in viewers. Guest Sean Mooney Report post Posted July 3, 2002 I always thought ratings were indicative of the previous show. That's why I think last night's show got such a bad rating, because last week's show was so bad. Lets say someone watched the show last week and thought "fuck, this sucks/ is boring". Well, then they arn't gonna watch this week. But, the next day, they'll here everyone talking about how good last nights's show was, so they'll tune in next week. And if that show delivers, they'll tune in the week after that. I think I'm generally talking about the casual fan here, but doesn't this seem logical to everyone else. Guest Ram Report post Posted July 3, 2002 It's not like people know its going to be a good show. This isn't friggin Rollerball. Nobody knows when its going to hit or not, its just some people just don't want to watch something. They just missed out.
