Guest HartFan86 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Keith gave it ****, but I wouldn't go that far. ***1/2. How bout you?
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I'd want to go to 4Stars, but I could live with a 3.5Stars rating. There was only one spot that was really blown, but the rest holds and no selling by RVD took it down a notch
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I agree with BretHart4Ever: ***1/2
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 How do I rate it? Damned good. You know, no matter how many "stars" anybody gives it, you're fucking right It WAS Damned good.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 How do I rate it? Damned good. You know, no matter how many "stars" anybody gives it, you're fucking right It WAS Damned good. Exactly.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 If they have a rematch @ Summerslam, It will be **** +.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 If they have a rematch @ Summerslam, It will be **** +. Oh, without questions.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I'll go for Damned Good as well. And as far as the no selling of the arm...from the Raw thread: People complain about RVD doing a rolling thunder after an armbar... And Rock no sells the entire match with a flip up. I'd say ***1/2 sounds about accurate to me. If they do have a rematch...It will rule.
Guest Incandenza Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 People complain about RVD doing a rolling thunder after an armbar... And Rock no sells the entire match with a flip up. That doesn't make RVD's no selling right, though. But hell, as I've said elsewhere, I'm in no position to criticize right now.

Guest Mattdotcom Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Damned good. Plus, the blown spot was covered up pretty well.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 The thing that killed for this match was the no selling and blown spot. I was gunna give it ****, but the no selling of the shoulder was just insanely stupid...so that lost a 1/2*, but they did a good job covering up the blown spot, so that didn't it hurt it that much.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Yes...when Benoit didn't get all the way out they did the right thing and both sold the impact of it.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I must be missing this... It's not like RVD went around using his arm to take the offense to Benoit... It's not like he ran around the ring waiving his arm around going: "HEY...IT DOESN'T HURT!" He just didn't hold it after Benoit stopped working on it. Which makes sense to me...because Benoit was hurting him in other spots.
Guest Nevermortal Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Hrmm... eh, about ***3/4. But I've seen better from Jackie Gayda.

It's just that is it logical you can do all the stuff Rob did after Chris was working on your shoulder for 5 minutes? It just doesn't make sense.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 What did he do? A rolling thunder that uses no arm...and then couldn'tdo anything else without getting locked in the crossface. And the point of the match was to establish that RVD couldn't be beat with the Crossface...which JR made mention of... So what happens? HE tries to roll Benoit up with his arm...gets countered...pinned and loses. I just don't get it.

Who gives a flying fuck about a match that happened later in the night...and what does it have to do with RVD not selling? Good, Rock didn't sell either...and that match wasn't good either. If you knew, BPS, the rolling thunder puts pressure on the upper back (shoulder blade) that would make perfect sense. If he did the rolling thunder, then grabbed his shoulder...all is forgotten. I'll have to watch the match again...but you have no excuse for RVD no-selling. I didn't even see him grab his arm once in the first place.
Guest JaKyL25 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Best free TV match since Eddie vs. RVD, I'd say. ***1/4 What the heck was up with that crowd though? Was it just me, or were they kinda DEAD for this match? Ungrateful heathens.
Guest Flyboy Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 I didn't even see him grab his arm once in the first place. You must have not been watching the same match.
Guest HartFan86 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 What the heck was up with that crowd though? Was it just me, or were they kinda DEAD for this match? Ungrateful heathens. They got into it at the end, but I think it was mostly they just enjoyed watching wrestling. I dunno, it's really not like they turned on the match and went to get refreshments and stuff.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 He grabbed his arm when Benoit was working the arm. Later in the match...Benoit wasn't working the arm so Benoit had to sell what Benoit was doing. RVD didn't exactly get alot of O in...so I don't see the issue here. Under these cicumstances...no match can ever be that good...because no one sells an arm when the other guy kicks you in the head.
