Guest Just call me Dan Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 OK, Kane is in FULL babyface mode and the WWE created his persona. He really has a chance of soaring above the rest and taking a place above the glass ceiling. I can really see him defeating and retiring his "brother" at Mania this year and becoming a huge star. I think Angle should be given the time of day and at least Jericho considering they pulled the trigger on him first, but Kane will more than likely be next. Is that OK with you? Sure, you probably want someone else before Kane to be pushed, but is Kane OK with you? Just focus on him here. Not who should be ahead of him. Does he deserve it? Do you buy it? Are you happy?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 No. It's not OK with me at all. In fact...it really sucks. The good news is that before he can be elavated he has a job to return to HHH that will leave HHH with at least a tie record over every uppercard star in the company. There should be a strike in the WWE to fix this competitive imbalance. As for Kane... blah... I don't need anymore hosses being pushed above the talent. And unless the WWE is completley ignorant (which I assure you, they are) Hosses...do not equal ratings.

If he's bringing it in the ring and is actually motivated like he was whenever they got him away from Taker, I'd have no problems with a Kane push.
Guest the pinjockey Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 I don't actively hate Kane nor do I actively like him. I just don't give a crap about him. I just don't see a gimmick being a viable main eventer in this day and age. They have turned down how much of the Kane character is a gimmick but he is still the big red burnt guy.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 He's fully away from Taker, lost even more bulk and can speak clearly now. Unless he's on the level of rikishi in terms of making the young marks smile, he should be quite tolerable. He can bring it in the ring, he really can.
Guest Ram Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 As long as he replaces the Undertaker's spot, rather than join side by side with him.
Guest chirs3 Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Kane can have some good matches. The problem is, since his return, he's been really... really... ... stupid. Here's a guy, HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE BAH GAWD~!, fire-from-the-hands-pyro and mask-to-cover-the-horrible-disfigurement... ... doing a Kane-a-rooni. Yes it was funny, but there's no way a character that contradictory to himself belongs anywhere near the title. You'd be getting: JR: "MAH GAWD, THROUGH HELLFIRE AND BRIMSTONE, KANE HAS COME BACK!" *Kane runs down and pantses Triple H, and RVD wins with a rollup* *pyros, hardy har*
Guest RickyChosyu Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 The Kane character in general is stupid. There's no reason for it. No one gave a crap about Undertaker's "dead man" persona in '99, so he re-invented it. What did Kane do? He's still the same cartoonish character from yester-year, and practically a comedy one, at that. The only value coming from him is his ability to make people laugh because a "monster from hell" is doing a spina roony, or cutting a fired up promo on the Rock and Hulk Hogan. It's not grounds for a push, it's grounds for embarisment. Come up with something that's worth more than a few laughs, or give it up.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Kane really can't lose the mask without adding more cartoonish makeup and really the only thing he can do is just lose the gothic stuff and stop having the announcers refer to his past storylines like through hell fire and brimstone and my god he's a monster, just have him be a guy who has a mask. Works for Rey.
Guest raptor Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 I've actually always liked Kane. He seemed to be the only HOSS that can wrestle at anything above half speed. Plus, the character is still cool. It's actually evolved, and the fact that he's a monster in the ring doesn't need to be pounded into the fandom's head. The fact that he's now human should help him when it comes to being a top babyface.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 How has it "evolved"? The gimick of never talking wasn't getting over, so Kane cuts promos now? That's not evolution, it's the booker's forgetting what they told the fans and telling them "no, now it's like this, ya hear?" The only time Kane has ever gotten any kind of serious face heat was when he leached off of Taker. As for his monster status no longer neccesitating the "shoving down our throats" treatment, as soon as he stops randomly no-selling, I'll start to take notice.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 I would agree that Kane is the only big fat turd who's not, well, a turd. However, he's still Kane. He will make fire come out of the ringposts, dance, flex, say "Kanenites", wear a t-shirt with a retarded phrase on it, wear a mask to hide hideous burns, and be Taker's brother. He's done too much stupid shit to recover, and now he's a very tall Edge.
Guest AndrewTS Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Kane's alright when he tries, but he's hardly able to keep up a consistent quality in his matches. I guess wrestling other hosses can do that (*cough* Test). And ol' Glen seems to gain and lose weight at Oprah-like intervals.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Yes he does. Ha, those are two hilarious and two quotes. the oprah one was golden, but the one about Kane being a very tall Edge was absolutely Platinum.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 ::focuses on kane:: ::sees kane vs. test at No Mercy.:: No.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 1, 2002 Report Posted September 1, 2002 Unless Kane has "evolved" into a decent worker I couldn't give a fudge. Kane Vs Test. Oh Dear.
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 He's 6'9" and 275+ so he is never going to wrestle like a "worker". You are not going to see the Rolling Chokeslams. When are you people going to get it through your thick heads: there is a big man style and you cannot compare it with the technical style or the high-flier style. It's like comparing a Jeep or a Hummer with a Ford Mustang. "Fuck the Hummer, it's not as fast as the Mustang!" NO SHIT, SHERLOCK, THAT'S BECAUSE A FORD MUSTANG IS A SPEED/MUSCLE CAR AND A HUMMER IS A TANK ON WHEELS! Same thing with pro wrestlers. Kane isn't there to wow you with his speed and agility and finesse. He's there to plow over everything in his path. Somebody said that Kane is the only hoss that wrestles above "half-speed". Well, that might be "half-speed" if you are a vanilla midget but if you actually have some girth to you, that's full-speed. How can you compare the speed of guys like Benoit and Guerrero who are 220-pound midgets to the speed of 6'6"+, 300-pound mountains of muscle? That's just retarded. Kane moves at half the speed of WHO? Mysterio? You can't compare them. I bet that PROPORTIONATELY, Kane is faster for his size than Benoit is his for his size. Kane moves very quickly for a man of his size, as do Test, Brock, Awesome, and sometimes Taker. So back off.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I don't care about the wrestlers size. If you suck, you suck. I am afraid as a wrestler Kane sucks.
Guest CanadianChick Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Kane moves very quickly for a man of his size, as do Test, Brock, Awesome, and sometimes Taker. So back off. Test: yes Kane:yes before injury, so I assume its the same Awesome: yes Brock: yes Undertaker: um...no. Sorry, but Taker is pretty slow, even compared to guys his size.
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I don't care about the wrestlers size. If you suck, you suck. I am afraid as a wrestler Kane sucks. In that case, I am afraid that you are wrong and have no gauge for wrestling ability. You clearly only like "workers". If that's the case, fine. But don't say that Kane sucks because he doesn't wrestle YOUR preferred style.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 If you are a good wrestler, shouldn't you have good matches? Kane doesn't.
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 He does have good matches. Not great matches. But good matches. His matches with Chris Jericho, Rock, Chris Benoit, X-Pac, HHH, Kurt Angle, and Undertaker have all been (for the MOST part) good. He's had some bad matches, but with the exception of maybe Shawn "God" Michaels, who doesn't?

Vader was a GREAT big man. Kane does three minute chokes and competed in three legit worst match of the year contenders last year in three straight PPVs (Fill in the blanks)
Guest CanadianChick Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Kane does three minute chokes and competed in three legit worst match of the year contenders last year in three straight PPVs (Fill in the blanks) Just wondering...which ones?
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Kane does three minute chokes That was because Taker forgot to run in, not because it's part of his usual moveset. Big Slow was equally to blame for that fiasco.
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 If Anglesault uses the Kronik match from Unforgiven to fuel his argument, I'm gonna shoot myself. That was TOTALLY Kronik's fault and everybody knows it.

I'm not going to say. Just think of my WORST MATCH EVER, and go two PPV's before or after. You should find them.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Well, Kane's matches against Test, with Taker against Kanyon/DDP and Kronik were all pretty dreadfull.

He's perfect in every possible way. *vomits* If any big guy should get a push, it's Kane. He's easily the best of the big man workers.
