Guest Just call me Dan Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Oh OK. KOTR was Booker's debut, and Page had been around for at least a couple of weeks by then. So when was the lst Nitro and when did Booker sign?
Guest the pinjockey Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 The last Nitro was a couple of weeks before WM i think. And Booker never signed his contract was just rolled over from WCW to WWF.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 The last Nitro was a week before Wrestlemania, right?
Guest the pinjockey Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Yeah because wasn't the last thing ever shown on Nitro a Wrestlemania commercial?
Guest AndrewTS Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I asked a friend of mine online with an excellent memory, and here's his take: First was the last Nitro (with Shane announcing he bought WCW)...then the WCW people appearing on WrestleMania X7 in a sky box. Lance came in first, then Hugh, DDP appears, then Booker T. Soon after the last Nitro, I believe Booker signed.
Guest the pinjockey Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Yeah Lance attacked Saturn when they had Raw in Calgary to kick off everything. And I don't think Booker had to sign. I am pretty sure they put the belt on him during the last Nitro so they would have the current champion under one of the contracts that they were just going to rollover from WCW to WWF instead of having to resign the person.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I really could have sworn DDP debuted even before Lance ran in. I guess not but damn I thought he officially started the Invasion. I stand corrected.
Guest the pinjockey Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 They might have started showing the stalker vignettes before Lance debuted but I don't think Page showed up til a little later on.
Guest Just call me Dan Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Cool. So moving along, if that's possible at this point, I'd really like to know what you guys think is in Kane's future. I have a feeling half of you would accept a push and half wouldn't but do you even see it happening? What role do you think he'll fill and what will be his place in the company? They guy is big and agile and the WWE made him so his chances look damn good to me. Him being able to cut promos regularly and his amazing heat in the last 7 or 8 months opens a whole new door, IMO.
Guest AndrewTS Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 It seems so odd (and I know this has been said) to pull that "Kane-a-roonie" stuff right after coming back--not, say, when Raw was off the air. I guess he'll continue the goofy gimmick, but that doesn't really scream "main eventer." I think he can still be funny WITHOUT looking like the Big Red Retard, but that was a terrible start. And the *blank*-a-roonie stuff is getting sooooooo stale. It's Booker's move, so please let him do it exclusively, instead of getting or trying to get every single freakin' guy on the roster to do it at some point. I don't want to see Kane and Test in a Spin-a-roonie match. (Cheapshot smarkish joke) Unless that means they won't wrestle each other at all. *rimshot*
Guest Anglesault Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 It would certainly be a better match than that abomination last October
