Guest mickberna Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Today I went on WWE.com, and they had the "Desire" videos posted, including the Steve Austin video. Watching it made me think about how danm entertaining he was, even when he was stuck saying "What" and feuding with the NWOld, and how much I wish he would come back and leave behind all his personal problems. Some people will say "Screw Austin" or "Good Riddance"... not me. You can have your Benoits, Harts, and Angles... when it comes to making a show worth watching, nobody will ever top Austin.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Yeah..him beating up thirty guys at once was sure a moment to remember..
Guest alfdogg Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Yeah..him beating up thirty guys at once was sure a moment to remember.. FUCK YOU. All you ever fucking do on this forum is wait for someone you don't like to be discussed, then come and make a little smartass remark about it. It's getting to the point where we can't talk about something that you don't like without your stupid ass chiming in with a wise crack. You are nothing but a glorified troll, your little "Everyone likes Benoit so I'll make fun of him every chance I get" is more annoying than a HHH promo. But since you're not a HHHater, nothing will be done about it, since apparently only the HHHaters ruin threads here. Give me a fucking break. This guy just wanted to express his Goddamned opinion on something, and you try to ruin it by being a moron. Of course, I've now succeeded in ruining it if you didn't already, but that's beside the point. Add something to the fuckng board for a change instead of trying to be such a Goddamn IWC rebel.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I miss Austin, but just a little, turth is I barely notice him not being there...my opinion of him is down from where it use to be though...walking out like a crybaby just cause you don't like an angle is just childish and unprofessional. But his shit with Vince and Kurt in 2001 was the funniest tv WWF has ever done.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Today I went on WWE.com, and they had the "Desire" videos posted, including the Steve Austin video. I was never a fan of Austin until he came back after the surgery in 2000. I made a career of being BOTH anti-Rock and Austin up until then. Steve won me over after that with some great matches that weren't his usual kicky punchy stuff. While his heel turn was bad for business, he showed just how dynamic a character he actually can be. I can't help but wonder if Austin would still be here today if they had done what the fans wanted (an Austin face turn) instead of having him join the Alliance at Invasion. I'm still mad that he left the company and Eddie Guerrero without thinking of the repercussions, but I'd mark out big if he were to come back to the fed. I guess I never really appreciated Austin until we didn't have him anymore. The thought of a possible Brock vs. Austin program sure as hell interests me a lot more than another month of Taker vs. Brock.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I wasn't a Fan of Austin at least not a blindly faithful fan that would Forgive anything he ever done just as long I get to see him say WHAT for a segment. Austin for the business had his good moments in the latter days. Early years Austin was a cash Cow to the WWE. He is one of the people that Brought wrestling fans back to the WWE at WM14. The Problem is you can't put all the eggs in a basket of a Austin or any wrestler. they become So Use to being a Main Eventer that he Whines and cries that he isn't being used the way he sees fit, then he Goes home and POUTS. And he done this Twice now. We all miss the Austin that we've seen and Im sure if Steve Austin wanted back at 7 PM tonight, Vince would be so happy to see him, he jin up some Storyline so that SCSA would appear At RAW. Vince's Depression and lack of participation in his company would disappear and he would be all happy again. But... not gonna happen.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 ..walking out like a crybaby just cause you don't like an angle is just childish and unprofessional. It needed to be done. Why should he just let Vince make a mockery of the Stone Cold character?

Vince's Depression and lack of participation in his company would disappear and he would be all happy again. But... not gonna happen. Vince wanted Steve to quit. Do you think he'd take him back?

Why should he just let Vince make a mockery of the Stone Cold character? I agree AS. Look Vince really can't have it both ways. The boys are either classic employees, or independent contractors. If they are contractors then Steve had every right to protect himself.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I don't miss Austin at all- I hope he never comes back. I honestly I haven't even noticed he wasn't there
Guest Anglesault Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I don't miss Austin at all- I hope he never comes back. I honestly I haven't even noticed he wasn't there Because HHH, Brock and Undertaker have donw such a good job of filling that gaping main event hole.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 wanted back at 7 PM tonight, Vince would be so happy to see him, he jin up some Storyline so that SCSA would appear At RAW. Vince's Depression and lack of participation in his company would disappear and he would be all happy again. But... not gonna happen. Vince wanted Steve to quit. Do you think he'd take him back? Vince is famed for having his bridge burning feeling of "Closure" Everytime a Big name wants to leave either going to another company or Quit, Vince wants to do something too Destroy their rep in elsewhere People's belief in Vince's Involvement in the Montreal Incident be it Work of Shoot action by Vince to Not only keep the belt but to make Bret look ridiculous going into WCW. my belief it was a work gone bad. Hogan's first leaving of the WWF, Right during the McMahon steroid trial, we've seen Vince blame Hogan after the trials, and Hogan Jobbed Quietly to Yokozuna, and on the same KOTR Puppet Jack Tunney gave the belt to Yoko and there was no mention of Hogan again until this year. If Bret Hart blood Hatred of Vince ended tomorrow, Vince would probably rehire him in some form or function. We already seen Hogan rehired even after the Huckster was mocked and paradied. Vince is going through the Motions to Protect his Company. He bashes and burns the bridge for Austin now... But i bet if you give it time, if Austin wants back in Vince will let him back in for the sake of the business. Hell if Vince can hire Eric Bischoff for the good of the company, he could rehire Austin when he is ready. just the way it feels.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I don't mind Brock but I hate the other two. But I'm just saying- the only time I ever think of Austin is when I see a thread about him at the board. I honestly I haven't watched RAW and gone: I miss Austin. The Booker T match just made me an Austin hater. (I know we've debated that match AS but when I turned off that RAW I said: I hate Austin.)
Guest BoboBrazil Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I like Austin, but I didn't like the way they booked him to always destroy everybody. There is only so many times I can take Raw ending with Austin stunnering people and drinking beer.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Austin was entertaining, but I don't miss him. I wasn't all like..."Damn, Austin's gone!"
Guest Brian Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I was like "Fuck, Austin's gone". Probably because I saw it coming. They treated Austin like shit, his homelife was falling apart, and his kids were gone. The guy was having a breakdown.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I don't mind Brock but I hate the other two. Brock/John cena r00lz Angle/Austin. oh, wait...
Guest bob_barron Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I hate John Cena with a passion. I don't like Brock but his push doesn't really bother me that much. I enjoyed his matches v. RVD and Rock and didn't think his match Test was too bad.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Austin was entertaining, but I don't miss him. I wasn't all like..."Damn, Austin's gone!" He was beyond stale when he left so most would agree with that. If and when he does come back, this whole thing could work to his benefit as the fans will have gone awhile without his tired character.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I think Austin should come back as a heel. He can totally play up how he doesn't care about the fans. Then enter a face (Booker T would be PERFECT) who disagrees with Austin and calls him a bitch and all that and boom- feud!
Guest Brian Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 His match with Cena didn't insult me, but I'm old school. Mid South doesn't mean much around here. ::Sighs::
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 and maybe it would be Booker T to beat the Hell out of Austin in a Safeway.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I don't like Brock but his push doesn't really bother me that much. I enjoyed his matches v. RVD and Rock and didn't think his match Test was too bad. You have to work pretty damned hard to have a bad match with the Rock. I HATED RVD/Brock at KotR. As for Brock/Test, the whole arena disagreed with you.
Guest bob_barron Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 All my hate for Austin would dissapear if he came back and put Booker T over clean in the middle of the ring. Pay him back for what happened to Book last may
Guest bob_barron Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 You have to work pretty damned hard to have a bad match with the Rock. I HATED RVD/Brock at KotR. As for Brock/Test, the whole arena disagreed with you. 1) Agreed 2) I don't remember it too much but I do remember being upset at the short length. I did enjoy Vengeance though. 3) Because it was heel v. heel. I didn't think the match was that bad and both tried hard
Guest Brian Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 No you don't. Rock has a ton of bad matches that are merely overlooked because they have a good pace and a decent amount of excitement. But the wrestling is another story.
Guest Anglesault Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 3) Because it was heel v. heel. Angle/Benoit... His match with Cena didn't insult me, but I'm old school. Mid South doesn't mean much around here. ::Sighs:: So your saying if I went down there, layed down, put my opponent in a quasi-bear hug and almost began sucking from an oxygen tank, I would be your king? SIGN ME UP!

SIGN ME UP! Brock v. Test also had the problem of well you knew Brock was gonna win. And yes I did notice that the crowd probably would've been more excited by watching The Best of Tank Abbott v. Big Al, but I still liked the match.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 If I'm a troll what do you do..follow me around waiting for me to say something? YOUR post was as senseless as mine is, or worse. At least mine was partially on-topic. If you want to bitch at me, there's a little thing called "Private Messaging". At least do it there so I can cheerfully ignore it, and it dosen't interrupt anything. Guess what, I don't hate wrestlers because everybody else likes them. I just know what I like, and what I don't. Or is that too much to understand? I don't think Benoit is this flawless wrestling God that most people on the IWC proclaim him to be. There's no contract that says I have to like him to be on here, or is there? Maybe I missed that when I signed up. ..and as for Austin..my opinion is as legitimate as anyone else's here. I think he's a bastard on the level of HHH and the Undertaker. People complain about HHH having too much airtime, ol' Stone Cold was doing the same thing..or worse..last summer. He was on BOTH shows, eating up at least 20 minutes a night for a promo, plus the endless segments. Out of the entire Invasion angle, and what should have been a promotional war..it was Operation Glorify Stone Cold for the better part of 2001.. Yeah, it made me sick. In the end, Austin proved to be just as "out for himself" as Taker and HHH are. He was stale, rarely jobbed, and came out looking better than 99% of the roster too much of the time.
Guest tetsubeav Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Wow... AS turns yet another thread into his own personal bash (insert Brock, Edge, etc here) thread. Amazing... And, on topic...I wouldn't mind seeing Austin back for that initial mark out moment, but I have a feeling it'd work just like the Hogan return to me. Fun for a show or two, then back to the same ol' shit.
