Bret Hart's on WOL. It's sad to listen to him, he talks slowly like he's out of breath and says he walks with a limp and has trouble lifting a quart of milk. I can't believe how my hero has deteriorated, I hope he gets some good news soon and can fully recover!

Yeah I agree. He sounds really tired and it is sad to see how he is now compared to what he once was.

Wow, his book is actually gonna be a 3 book trilogy. The first book is his childhood and Stampede years, second book is early WWF years and third book is everything more recent. He says they'll be released 6 months apart and will be long, maybe 600 pages each.

Ok hopefully this counts him out for the 10th anniversary or anything in WWE so people will quit speculating.

Bret was disappointed in Hogan's book, thought it was really shallow and that he's seperated from reality. Bret's book will give a better look at Hogan than his own book did. Bret doesn't understand why Hogan bashed him in his book since Bret has always said nice things about Hogan in his column and looked up to him.

Hasn't mentioned anything about RAW X or current WWE yet...

Fuck, I couldn't get through to ask my Goldberg question. I'll just e-mail Dave later.

What exact question do you want to ask him?

Bret Just basicly said that he will never show on WWE in any way at all, he's just not comfortable with it and is not looking for a job.

"I don't want to be part of a storyline. I don't want to be part of the whole 'ratings thing'."

Well THANK GOD.

Well now Bret says he sort of wants to go back so he can officially say goodbye, but doesn't want to be a part of any type of storyline. He also said that Vince HAS asked Bret to come back.

Well I retract what I said earlier. After hearing this he may be on the RAW X show just to say goodbye.

Here's a recap as he talks:

Dave brings up the meeting with Vince. Bret's biggest gripe with Vince is when he met with him after Owen died and Vince promised Bret his media library, but after the lawsuits it didn't happen, and Vince denied the conversation ever happened. Bret felt really bad about that because his matches are so special to him. Before the stroke, they never spoke, except second hand through the family and was led to believe that Bret was the driving force behind the lawsuits which was false, even though Bret was supportive of Martha. Bret wanted to clear the air and find some closure. After the stroke Vince called him to wish him well in the hospital which meant a lot to Bret and promised him any photos he needed for a coffe table book he's making. That meant a lot to Bret, so he talked to him in Florida so he could do something about putting out a DVD with his best matches. Bret is not looking for a job and is not planning on ever going back. Bret is not confortable returning and Vince understands that but Bret does not want to be forgotten, just remembered for what he did. Bret can never fully forgive him but he wants to move on. Jesse Ventura told him after Owen died not to get consumed with bitterness, Bret admits he had been bitter, because there never was a "Best of Bret Hart" or final sendoff, or goodbye speech after all he gave to Vince. Vince has offered him a chance to comeback but Bret has declined because he doesn't want to be part of the storylines and doesn't think the audience wants to listen to him do a farewell speech anymore since it's not current and it's not part of current storylines. He doesn't want to be seen as a sellout or doing something for ratings if he came back. He doesn't want to be an obstacle for the grandkids to work for Vince. Bret was tired of being the brunt of WWE's jokes, making fun of Survivor Series, he just wants to be respected and remembered for what he did in the ring. He wants to feel what he did was important.

On Martha's book: It was a step up from my sister's Diana's which was a real self centered book. He didn't agree with everything Martha wrote, he finds it funny that Diana and Martha are so perfect and it was always someone else's fault.

Dave asks about the potrayel of Owen, and if he hated profesional wrestling. Bret says not at all. Martha forgets all the good things wrestling brought to them. Owen took a lot of pride in his wrestling. He's mentioned to Vince that Owen would want to be remembered for what he did. He remembers how special the Bulldog/Owen RAW match was and it was one of their last great matches. Martha knew Owen at home but was almost naive to how he was on the road. Even though you get tired of "looking at hairy asses in the dressing room and eating at Dennys at 2am" Owen had a lot of friends, Jeff Jarret, Mankind. He had a real life on the road that he did like, but Martha ignores it, but that's her own ignorance. Dave congradulates him on his recovery and wishes him well in his future acting endeavors. Bret asks him to wish him luck and finishes by saying he won't be on RAW this Tuesday.

A bret hart dvd = $$$

"I know my wife wouldn't let me get up there"

Ouch.

Brets feelings are perfectly understandable. Even though he sounds winded his mind is just fine.

The guy before Bret was fucking boring as hell with the Pride stuff.....but Bret was intresting to hear. Sounds like he really wants to come back one last time to say good bye...and I hope he does.

Do you even watch "Pride stuff"?

The most boring and entertaining at the same time guest is Terry Funk. He has some interesting things to say but it takes him 10 years to formulate one sentence. As opposed to Raven who I remember as a guest on Eyada, he seemed to talk faster than he could breathe and would end up out of breath by the end of the segment.

No it sounds like he never wants to come back to WWE but feels like he wants the fans to remember him for his matches.

I feel bad for Bret, it's just one godsmack after another for him, the guy can't catch a break in life. He gives his heart and soul to the company and he feels like he's been worked and then sent to the glue factory and forgotten. I can't wait to get his books though, sounds like they'll be no bull and really in depth, and I really hope the Bret Hart DVD project mentioned comes to light.

I don't watch Pride...but the guy they were interviewing was just boring listening too...not Pride.

Well that's understandable then, how could you even care for it if you don't even know what they are talking about?

I didn't either but the guy was freakin boring. Im actually watching that HBO documentary they were plugging now and it's not too interesting but I guess everyone has different tastes. Let's keep this to Bret though.

Bret wants to come back to give a good bye speech and hear the crowd one last time chant his name, but he feels a moral obligation to not come back because then he would be nothing but a publicity stunt and it would objectify everything he has been through - from SS97 to Owen Dying to his stroke - and he doesn't want to do that.

If you don't know what Quatros was talking about of course you are going to find him boring.

I don't know what your point is....me watching Pride has nothing to do with it. It was the guy they were interviewing was boring. The subject could of been about anything and the guy would of made me bored.

After I just mentioned to keep the discussion to Bret I guess we can have a duel discussion. I'm watching this Pride documentary and Jesus, how can anyone watch this? This is pretty uncomfortable to watch they're just punching each other in the face and bloodying each other, I mean at least in wrestling it's more of an art form and theyre working together, this is just brutal and violent...I see no appeal in it...
