The interferance was small. But I am docking this near 4 star half a point to 3 and 1/2 stars. Better Match then there last outing at summerslam last year.

WCW Smackdown won this week easy. But things could have been better.

Word is that Christian remains very unhappy backstage about WWE ending his push so suddenly. WWE ShopZone has removed the "Captain Charisma" t-shirts and WWE has pulled the upcoming Christian cards from the "Raw Deal" card game.

So thats why the Mexicools tried to talk some sense into him...

Tammy Sytch is claiming that she will be returning to WWE in October or November. She also claims that she's lost a lot of weight and that she's 15 pounds away from being in "Sunny Shape" which is 115 pounds. She says she'd love to manage Ric Flair or Randy Orton and that she would like to put a bullet through the forehead of each and every Diva Search contestant. She also rips into Sable and Kimberly Page.

Tammy's claims of a WWE return should be taken with a grain of salt as she's not exactly the most honest person around. One of the reasons that contributed to her departure from WWE in 1998 was because she lied to Linda McMahon when said she was too sick to go to work but couldn't produce a doctor's note. However, WWE has been bringing back names of the past right and left such as Tatanka and Marty Jannetty, so perhaps a Tammy Sytch return isn't too far-fetched, especially if she were to get into "Sunny Shape."

In TNA News...

During a pre-PPV meeting last weekend, TNA officials informed their wrestlers that from this point forward, they would not be permitted to appear on independent wrestling events that would be released on DVD via national retail chains such as Best Buy. With their own DVDs about to be released nationally via the Navarre Corporation, TNA wants to insure that their contracted performers aren't competing against themselves in the marketplace. TNA officials made it clear to the wrestlers that they understand the importance of working the independent scene on their bottom line and DVDs that were released in house by indy groups (such as CZW, FIP and ROH) would not fall under the umbrella. I am under the impression that this would only go into effect for future events, so if an indy group has footage they have stockpiled in the past, this new edict wouldn't effect them. While I will understand the point of view of independent promoters who will be upset about the edict, I don't blame TNA for protecting their assets in the marketplace as it would totally be a conflict of interest for the company to release a Best of Shark Boy, for example, when four other indy groups are compiling their matches for similar projects and selling them via the same platform.

Chris Sabin suffered some form of injury to his jaw at the Impact! tapings in Orlando, Florida. At one point, it was feared that he may have broken it, but I don't have confirmation yet on the severity of the injury. Sabin is scheduled to face Petey Williams and Elix Skipper in a Three-Way Dance in Charlotte, North Carolina tomorrow at the NWA Legends convention, although it's likely he will be pulled from that bout.

Some sad news from the CZW front:

"Chri$ Ca$h - Christopher Bauman Jr. passed away last night after being involved in a motorcycle accident near his home in South Jersey. On behalf of the CZW family we would like to send our condolences to the Bauman family who are mourning Chris as are we. The thoughts and prayers of the CZW family are with them and those of the CZW fans also are. "

PWG “Smells Like Steen Spirit” on August 19!

By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer

Duckpond, CA – With the crowning of the sixth Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) champion, and the 772nd tag team champions at “Zombies Shouldn’t Run!” on August 6, PWG once again faces a period of turbulence. Adding to the upheaval within PWG is Commissioner SoCal Valerie Wyndham’s appointment of Dino Winwood as Assistant Commissioner, and her announcement of a 3 week European vacation, which may or may not have begun a few days ago (she phoned the PWG offices from a French telephone number with someone who sounded suspiciously like Chevy Chase in the background.) Either way, one of these events would prove challenging for anyone recently employed as Assistant Commissioner, so with all three things occurring at the same time, Dino certainly has his work cut out for him. His first true test came this past Monday when Kevin Steen, the new PWG Champion's, lawyer David Douglass Weinsteen placed a phone call to the desk of Mr. Winwood.

The honorable Mr. Weinsteen informed Mr. Winwood that the former PWG Champion, AJ Styles, is contractually guaranteed the Number 1 Contender spot (in simpler terms, a rematch clause,) and PWG cannot name a Number 1 Contender until AJ Styles receives his rematch. After literally diving headfirst into a pile of contracts and spilling six cups of coffee in the process, Dino found this fact to be true, and was forced to ask "How has PWG named Number 1 Contenders (in the past) without providing a rematch to the former champion?" To which there was a simple answer: No champion has ever had legal superstar David Douglass Weinsteen as their lawyer before. Completely stumped, Dino Winwood did the only thing left in his hands, and asked Mr. Weinsteen if not "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels, who did Kevin Steen want to grant a title shot to? The answer for that was simple as well.

"Quicksilver, Mr. Winwood." said Weinsteen, undoubtedly twisting the ends of his wax caked moustache, deeply reclined in his plush leather chair. "My client saw Quicksilver's match with Super Dragon on August 6, and to be quite frank, he was very impressed. Make no mistake, I mean he was impressed by Quicksilver, and his ability to bring Super Dragon very nearly to his breaking point." continued the lawyer. "Therefore, my client would like to make his first title defense against Quicksilver, and defeat him in a fraction of the time it took Super Dragon, in order to further prove his superiority."

"Well, uh... I will have to inform Christopher Daniels of your client's decision, and I uh... I guess we will have to update the website. And throw out the 5,000 flyers we had printed. And let the Sky Writers know about the (non-refundable) change." Stammered Dino. "Are... are you sure there's no way we could convince your client to change his mind?" asked the Assistant Commissioner. When he was met with silence on the other end of the line, Dino Winwood knew the first phone call he would make of his tenure would undoubtedly be one of the most difficult.*

When Dino called Christopher Daniels to inform him of the change, he was a bit surprised by the Fallen Angel's reaction. While understandably upset that he would not have an opportunity to add the PWG Championship to his gallery of titles held, he stressed that Kevin Steen had already had a shot at the Fallen Angel earlier this year, and in his eyes, there was nothing left to prove. He also mentioned he thought Steen had a poor fashion sense, all together dreadful taste in women, and that in Daniels' eyes, Kevin Steen is unworthy to challenge for the X-Division title. Recently, this has become a common occurrence in the title reign of Christopher Daniels, as he deemed Chris Hero, Road Warrior Animal, and a bus boy at a chain of popular Southern California family restaurants as unworthy competitors as well. In order to satisfy the increasingly angry X-Division Champion, Dino offered Daniels a shot at anybody on the PWG roster. After a moment of consideration, and making it extremely clear the title would not be on the line, Christopher Daniels picked Chris Bosh as his opponent for August 19. Not because he felt he was worthy, but to make an example out of Bosh, whose tag team partner the Fallen Angel will be facing in the first round of the Battle of Los Angeles tournament in September.

"Smells Like Steen Spirit" will also feature:

- The rematch to end all rematches (though we're pretty sure there will still be rematches in PWG after this,) as Super Dragon takes on Samoa Joe. Dragon put a stop to his losing streak with an impressive victory earlier this month, and looks to gain more momentum heading into the Battle of Los Angeles. Samoa Joe, who is making his return to PWG after a four month absence, wants to win the rubber match and prove he is the most dominant Los Angeles native in the sport today. Could this be the pair's most brutal encounter yet?

- Newly crowned PWG Tag Team Champions 2 Skinny Black Guys (El Generico & Human Tornado) put their titles on the line against TNA Wrestling's own Chris Sabin & Petey Williams! Assistant Commissioner Winwood decided Sabin & Williams would be perfect to challenge 2 Skinny Black Guys after he was so impressed by their victory over the New Old X-Foundation (Scott Lost & Joey Ryan.)

- Speaking of Joey Ryan, after questionable wins over both Alex Shelley and Claudio Castagnoli, Joey Ryan believes he has truly lived up to the "Technical Wizard" name, and is ready to take on anyone who feels they are proficient in the art of technical wrestling. One such man is Rocky Romero, who after causing Davey Richards to pass out on August 6, is looking to do the same to Joey Ryan in order to shut him up for good.

- And it's funny that Davey Richards was mentioned, as well, since despite his differences with Hardkore Kidd, the two will be putting their hard feelings aside to take on their common enemy, TJ Perkins. Both men were recently defeated by Perkins, and would like to gain some measure of revenge. Knowing that Perkins' most likely partners (Samoa Joe, Rocky Romero, and Ricky Reyes) were unavailable, HKK & Richards made the challenge thinking Perkins would receive no support on such short notice. However, that proved to be wrong, as TJ Perkins found the unlikely partner of Alex Shelley for August 19.

Also appearing "Smells Like Steen Spirit" will be Scott Lost, Disco Machine, Phoenix Star, Ronin, Gunning For Hookers (Hook Bomberry & Top Gun Talwar,) and more!

Puro News:

Former All Japan Women's boss Kunimatsu Matsunaga (age 63) has reportedly committed suicide by jumping off the 7th floor of a building in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Yahoo Japan has more information on the suicide. You may have known Kunimatsu under the ring name as "Jimmy Kayama," a referee. AJW closed its doors on April 17th after being in debt for millions and millions of dollars. Tarzan Yamamoto has an interesting article on this subject. Yamamoto said he received a call from Matsuzawa of "Kami no Puroresu" at Midnight on Friday (Japanese time). Matsuzawa said that there was an industry rumor that Takashi (and not Kunimatsu) Matsunaga had committed suicide. There was confusion about which Matsunaga brother committed suicide. Tarzan spends the second-half of his article talking about how suicide and pro-wrestling has seemingly become linked together in the last few years. Tarzan says that the pro-wrestling business requires such mental toughness and yet a lot of death is now occurring based on suicide. "Suicide is not in the dictionary of professional wrestling."

A quick update regarding the comments that Koji Kanemoto made criticizing New Japan management. Multiple Romantic (a Japanese blog) has an update regarding criticisms that both Koji Kanemoto & Tiger Mask IV (IWGP Jr. champion) made about New Japan management. MR thinks that Barnett's comments (in Gong and on The PPH radio show) has opened up the floodgates to allow other wrestlers to voice their opinions. Kanemoto's comments were in Daily Sports, while Tiger Mask IV's comments were in the 8/19 edition of Tokyo Sports. The theme of the comments is that the Jr. Heavyweights are not treated with the same amount of respect as the heavyweights in the company. TM-4 said that he approached the office with the idea of defending the IWGP Jr. title worldwide in different promotions and got zero response. TM-4 also asked the office to bring in foreign Jr. heavyweight talent and to recruit gaijin wrestlers, and that too got zero response. TM-4 noted that because of the current direction of the company, the authority (credibility) of the IWGP belt is falling. The Bakayaro Blog has more information.

There have been some rumors that Misawa has major eye problems. He will go to the doctors and see whats up...it might be the reason he wasnt at full strenth against Kawada. Lets hope he gets better- Rikio is not a main eventer, but he got more hope than New Japan's Champion has.

Now, Fire Pro news, as we are at least- 4 weeks away from the return of the greatest game since maybe Xenogears. Take a look at this...new videos!

http://www.spike.co.jp/fr/gallery2.html

It looks like you can make them hurt harder, fall faster...and the damage points might be higher too.

Oh and to dispell any rumors. There is a contest to get tickets to a DDT event. Get the code, and play the game on www.DDT.tv- to win the tickets. Now...why would they place the start of the contest at the 27th where everybody said the game will be realised the 28th? Please...its the 15th and thats the final date.

And thats it for us, This Sunday is Raw/WCW Smackdown co-production of Summerslam- Fat Joe and Nelly will provide the slutty song, as (can somebody tell me who is the going to play the main theame for Summerslam) will provide the war cry song...

We will see the results. Until Sunday Night Folks.
