4/11: Ice Behind Bars
5 p.m.
• So I was about to make the old "well at least she didn't blame thison the brake pedal sticking," but then I found that this joke has already been spent. No matter.
A 90-year-old woman accidentally backed into a McDonald's restaurant, disrupting a bingo game and sending a couple to the hospital with minor injuries.
Lois Weber told police one of her tennis shoes became stuck under the gas pedal on her 2004 Cadillac, causing her to lose control and back into the restaurant Wednesday. She said she recently changed shoe brands and was not used to the wider fit.
No tickets were issued. Weber, who has a valid driver's license, was able to drive her car home.
Police said the car crashed into a wall and window of the restaurant in the Broad Ripple neighborhood on the north side of the city. The car pushed John Atkinson, 80, and his wife Beverly, 75, both of Indianapolis, who were playing bingo.
The couple suffered cuts on their hands from broken glass.
• Ice went to jail for PUSHING a bitch?
Vanilla Ice was released from jail Friday following his arrest on a charge of simple battery for allegedly pushing his wife.
Ahh, now the truth comes out.
The 39-year-old rap performer was arrested Thursday night at the couple's Wellington home in South Florida. Police said his wife called 911, saying he had kicked and hit her during an argument over buying a bedroom set. She later told deputies he had only pushed her.
Then why isn't she in jail for lying? There are time I feel bad for women -- like when disgusting men hit on them for no reason whatsoever (and no, this isn't from personal experience). However, all a chick has to do is accuse some guy of abusing her and it's off to the slammer.
Now time for some more news stuff...
Police said Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, denied pushing her.
He was freed Friday after appearing in court.
It wasn't immediately known if he had an attorney. His agent, Tommy Quon, said he hadn't heard about the arrest and couldn't comment.
Now we get the background on V-Ice, which is common for many stories involving public figures.
Vanilla Ice spent a night in jail in 2001 after being arrested following a domestic dispute.
But here's the best part.
He sold 15 million copies of the single "Ice Ice Baby" in 1990.
Anyone remember buying those tape/CD singles back in the '90s? Memories.
