Spaceman Spiff Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 So, this weekend, the Dolphins get the Sunday night ESPN game, then have to play at Dallas on Thanksgiving. WTF? Both home teams for Thanksgiving (Dallas & Detroit) play early games on Sunday, as does Green Bay (Detroit's opponent). Yet, the team that has to travel the farthest gets stuck w/ an 8:45 PM start on Sunday. So, what does that give the Dolphins, practice-wise? Monday - off day? light practice? team meetings only? Tuesday - practice Wednesday - maybe morning practice, then travel Thursday - game Pretty poor planning by the NFL scheduling department.
Guest Choken One Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 I wonder if NFL will finally have the balls to get rid of the Dallas/Detroit tradtion and have new stuff?
KingPK Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 The Patriots played four games in 3 1/2 weeks last season (including Thanksgiving in Detroit). Stop yer bitchin' until you get to Foxboro in December, THEN you'll have something to cry about.
Guest Choken One Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 Is it just me or does Detroit play green bay every fucking year at thx?

Last year, the Dolphins had 3 games w/in a span of 13 days (Monday 12/9 - Sunday 12/15 - Saturday 12/21).
kkktookmybabyaway Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 I wonder if NFL will finally have the balls to get rid of the Dallas/Detroit tradtion and have new stuff? Keep it. What else does the Motor City have to look forward to each NFL season?...
Guest FrigidSoul Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 the Dallas/Miami game should be good either way I could careless about the Packers/Lions
Vern Gagne Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 It's traditon. Detroit seldom plays anyone outside the NFC North on Thanksgiving, when they aren't playing an AFC team. So seeing Chicago, Minnesota, and Green Bay shouldn't come has a suprise.
Guest Choken One Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 Is it just me or does Detroit play green bay every fucking year at thx? It's just you. According to the Detroit Lions Website it's the 17th time they played on Thanksgiving. Thier Most frequent "guest". I still contend the NFL should have a Christmas Game Tradition and Make it a Superbowl Rematch stip or something (of course if they did that THIS year...it'd be a sucky ass game)
Guest FrigidSoul Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 The NBA has games on Christmas, and they usually give some damn good games. Unless it was a night game its not needed
Guest Choken One Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 I guess that's true...Isn't the Christmas Game Houston/Cleveland and Sac/Dallas? Im sure the Lakers play too...
Vern Gagne Posted November 18, 2003 Report Posted November 18, 2003 They should not have games on Christmas Eve. Keep tradition alive.
