  1. The word innovative can only begin to describe my sixth round draft selection. His influential blend of the Mexican and Japanese wrestling styles, known as Lucharesu, can still be seen today in such places as Dragon Gate and CHIKARA. Ladies and gentlemen, the former IWGP Junion Heavyweight and WCW Cruiserweight Champion... Ultimo Dragon! (complete with inspirational poster)
  2. I was watching an MNM match earlier today, and I knew that it was just a matter of time. I will have my selection in just a moment, as Broward is sitting this round out.
  3. Around the time that the first match went down, I stated that I think that Michaels-Batista would be an excellent on again/off again program that they go to out of every two or three shows. It definitely has a lot of mileage left on it. Also, Batista is about a hundred times more interesting now that he is a tweener.
  4. "I don't love you. I'm not sorry." Classic.
  5. I totally saw this one coming this round.
  6. For my third-round selection, I am going to go with one of my personal favorites from the boom period: "I Quit" Match for the WWF Championship Mankind © vs. The Rock Anaheim, CA January 24, 1999
  7. This selection is being made on behalf of The Franchise. The 92nd selection became one of the hottest names on the independent scene with his classic work against Raven, Chris Hero, Samoa Joe and many others. The former ROH and ECW World Heavyweight Champion... He is better than you... CM Punk!
  8. He has until 3:39 PM, ET. So, roughly fifteen minutes.
  9. I am planning on a second stage draft for managers/valets. I cannot see why they cannot be booked in some wrestling capacity, but, right now, we are drafting full-time wrestlers.
  10. As I have stated before- everybody has the opportunity to have up to thirty singles wrestlers, which is why drafting a tag team set for the sake of splitting the two teammates up is prohibited. I am willing to make exceptions for (legit) three-man units if the idea is to utilize them as a three-man set (otherwise, why else would they want them together in the first place??). Remember, when I allow one of the participants to make a selection like XXX, I am bending the rules for them, since this gives them an opportunity to get to an extra worker before they are drafted. This started out as a one or two wrestler at a time draft, and I am adamant about keeping as much order as possible. I explained to Broward that, since I was bending the rules, that he would have to sit out the next round, and he understood. I would have done the same thing for anybody else, as long as they are serious about using the talent as a three-man (or woman) ensemble. If you draft two or three wrestlers together, you are not allowed to break them up. If you want somebody to be a singles wrestler, then you have to draft them by themselves.
  11. The referee in that match looks like it's Ricky Steamboat. It is. http://www.flickr.com/photos/erdnuckel_86/2096869722/
  12. That's good stuff. It would have made my list, but I can live with somebody else appreciating it.
  13. I apologize for that too, as I am adamantly against the name-dropping aspect of this draft.
  14. Honestly, this is where fantasy pro wrestling gets a little more complicated than anything else. It's not black and white. It's much more different. But, I stand by my decisions, as I was asked about Demolition, the Freebirds and others early on in the draft, and I stated the same thing. But, for me, it was a big deal not to promote it. If you guys are serious about any pick that seems even slightly out of the ordinary, then please, as the top page rule-listing states, consult with me, and I will likely work something out with you. I hardly feel as though people are going to be malicious and/or play politics in a mock wrestling roster draft on an obscure message board*. *where amazing happens.
  15. Erm, no. Said groupings have to be a legitimate, tested unit. Such as XXX or the original Freebirds. I had multiple inquiries before Broward came to me, and those were also were met with fair and careful consideration. Also, while there is no official limit as to how many people can be allowed per faction, I did have one member making an inquiry regarding the Flock, which I put the kibosh in my first response. Again, as listed at the top of the thread, if those participating (or not) have any questions beyond what is mapped out in the basic rule-listing, please feel to contact me via PM and I am willing to answer them for you. So, you're wrong.
  16. They have to be used as a unit. Those are the rules. Same as tag teams go. EDIT: To clarify further, Broward needs to book them as a three-man unit when he presents his exhibition card.
  17. For those who are asking, Broward takes a bye in the next round.
  18. ... as I fight the urge to violently guffaw toxic dyes of red, white and blue... anally...
  19. Okay. I was confused there for a moment. Nobody could keep a secret that big * slightly covers mouth and giggles * for that long...
  20. Was Giant Gonzalez really working for the company three months before his debut at the Rumble?
  21. New unofficial rule: whenever somebody mentions a person that they are surprised hasn't been selected yet, they have to let the cat out of the bag once the person has been drafted. Right now, I have a few guys lined up who I hope are left, but won't be surprised if they are taken before my opportunity comes. I will name them if and when they are chosen. With 600 wrestlers left, the most shocking thing will still be who doesn't get chosen. You'll be surprised how many good talents will be left out. Then again, if need be, there's always extensions. Also, useless commentary is not useless. We can talk about what is going on as much as we want, so long as we do not drop names who have not been selected yet.
  22. I was pretty nervous that I would have barely missed him, not only from a personal standpoint (as I am a huge Awesome mark), but I think that he would have as good of a match with John Cena as anybody. Awesome and the Eliminators are the most critical picks I have made thus far, and I am relieved that I got them both.
  23. My next selection will be the man to challenge John Cena for the World Heavyweight Championship. His style will compliment the main event scene very well and will bring a sense of competitiveness to the World Heavyweight Championship. A star who made his mark on the industry working for FMW, ECW, WCW and WWF. My fourth-round draft selection is: Mike Awesome
  24. That makes sense. I forgot that it was taped a week in advance (a week after the Rumble).
