As a Giants fan; I would like to salute the Cardinals and welcome them to Giants stadium with open arms for the NFC championship game!
-
VIKINGS 24 EAGLES 21 I think McNabb will throw a critical interception in the 4th quarter.
-
Even though its lost some luster I would still like to see Couture vs Nog next year. Wanderlai vs Anderson Silva also seems like a fight that could headline one of the filler PPV's next year for the UFC.
-
What are you talking about? I mention a prospective fight that I see talked about on every MMA forum and thats nonsense. What thread can you point to having nothing to do with a Brock vs Fedor scenario that shows a lack of MMA knowledge or actual appreciation for the sport. Show the proof and I won't post here again.
-
When White purchased PRIDE he still recognized Henderson as both the Light-Heavyweight and Middleweight champion and billed both the Rampage and Silva fights as UNIFICATION bouts! I apologize for derailing the thread by responding to the non wrasslin fan.
-
So now there is going to be a title unification fight between the UFC and Affliction or M-1? this keeps getting better and better with the nonsensical bullshit! So, in your non "Wrasslin" tainted brilliance; you would expect the UFC and Affliction to have their champions fight without titles being on the line?
-
Care to explain exactly how Brock would "lose the title" to someone who isn't even in the same promotion as him? And you're trying to talk shit about someone having "reason" or a lack there of? This is seriously some of the most retarded shit I've ever read...and I've actually read the Ready to Rumble script. WHEN. TWO. CHAMPIONS. FIGHT. IN. A. TITLE. UNIFICATION. BOUT. THE. WINNER. CLAIMS. BOTH. BELTS.

I hope Dana doesn't sign the Rampage/Forrest rematch. I want Rampage vs Evans ASAP.

Fedor and M-1 has already called out Brock and the UFC to a cross-promotional event... They did it like 2 days after he won the title, lol Yes, but at that time the idea of a cross-promotion showdown wasn't as advantagous to White and the UFC. Brock vs Mir 2 should be the biggest PPV event in MMA history and make the Brock the biggest attraction in the history of the sport. He will be the undisputed champ with 2 million people viewing his defeating Couture and Mir back to back. That kind of momentum makes it a can't lose situation for White. Its the biggest fight White can make in the Heavyweight division. And if Brock loses he can simply claim some sort of contractual disagreement and setup a tournament to crown a new champ where Brock would still be the favorite. Brock HAS BEEN the biggest attraction in the history of the sport for a good little while now, where have you been? And Dana claiming "some sort of contractural disagreement and setup a tournament" to put the belt back on Lesnar if he lost? Are you smoking crack like your idol the Warrior? Dana is out to legitimize MMA as a sport, and pulling some hokey pokey EliteXC-type bullshit like that is exactly what he would never do...That sounds like a terrible storyline ripped straight out of a WWE creative meeting...and no matter how hard you wrasslin fans try, MMA and pro wrasslin are two entirely different ballparks. First, address me as SENSEI. Brock just got the biggest combined PPV record this year, that may seem like a long time you but by any reasonable measure it is a recent occurence. To your next point. If Brock lost the title to Fedor do you believe that the UFC, the premiere MMA company in the world would go without a heavyweight champion for an extended period of time because of it? I know I'm just a "Wrasslin fan" and a follower of the " Crack smoking Warrior" but it seems that anyone with the slightest bit of reason would recognize that they need a standard bearer in the form a Heavyweight champ.

UFC 92 was a perfect ending for MMA this year! I think Dana has learned his lesson from the Cro Cop fiasco and will set up Evans vs Rampage immediately. Brock vs Mir oustrips Penn vs GSP for me in terms of the biggest fight in 2009. If Brock( and he will) beats Mir, it demands that Brock fights Fedor if the Affliction champ is successful in his title bout.

To revise my earlier statement. I now DEMAND that you refer to me as KING SENSEI WARRIORFAN after my picks!!!

After my picks tonight, I would now like to be referred to as SENSEI Warriorfan!

I'm in the zone! Everything I predicted will come to pass!!!!

This is what will happen! Champ Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans- While Griffin has proved himself with the best at this level I think Rashad has everything needed for an upset. Evans catches Griffin with a flurry similar to what Jardine landed. Evans KO RD 3 1:35 Champ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir- I know this is blasphemous but I don't believe in Nog anymore! Mir survives long enough to land a big shot. Mir KO RD 4 2:47 C.B. Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio- Massenzio by RNC RD 2. Quinton Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva- This is the main event for me. I don't know which version of Jackson will step into the ring tonight. Everything points to Silva and of course thats why I'm picking Rampage. Seriously, this doesn't go past the first and I think Rampage is the more accurate striker. Rampage RD 1 KO left hook GNP. Mustafa Al-Turk vs. Cheick Kongo- They are giving Kongo a showcase and I think he will come through. Unanimous decision Kongo.

Again, all due respect to Pacquaio but this is really looking like De La Hoya was the victim of over-training. I just read De La Hoya's post-fight comments and the article listed that De La Hoya actually weighed LESS than Pacquaio during the fight. De La Hoya hadn't been under 150 in 7 years and to end up weighing less than Pacquaio at the time of the fight pretty much indicates something was physically wrong. Usually when bigger fighters cut weight to meet the limit; they are able to eat and re-hydrate to the point where they gain at least 7-10 Lbs by the time the bell rings.
-
I can't believe it! When I heard that Pacquaio won I thought it was a joke but then I saw the ESPN ticker confirm it. I am extremely happy for Pacquaio as I thought he would be stopped by De La Hoya in the middle rounds. Looking at the clips De La Hoya looks extremely lean. From most reports Oscar was dominated and while I don't want to take anything from Pacquaio; I think Oscar may have overtrained. I think De La Hoya's ego won't allow him to go out like this and he will return. The best part of this fight is that all of this talk about Manny being the undisputed P4P best HAS to be eating at Mayweather. Mayweather vs Pacquaio April 2009!!

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!! YES! I have to go to Sherdog to feel the enormity of this win and watch people grudgingly accept Brock's indellible place in MMA history now.

Lesnar RD 1 KO 1:30 I am a fan of Randy just like everyone else but this is the perfect storm scenario for Lesnar. Couture hasn't fought in a year, he is 45 years old and will be outweighed by AT LEAST 40lbs! That doesn't even take into consideration that Brock is a world class wrestler with freakish strength and speed. Looking at Brock's fights he has knocked down Mir and Herring with virtually a jab. The only way both men escaped being KO'd was their size as they were able to hold off Lesnar who STILL outweighed both of them. I see Lesnar dropping Randy with a similar Jab and pouncing and Couture can't hold him off and Brock ground and pounds him into unconciousness.

Roy Jones will win tonight against Calzaghe by unanimous decision. I think Jones will utilize the pot-shot tactics used by Hopkins but with more combinations. Jones still has enough reflexes left to evade most of Calzaghe's offense and coast down the stretch. I am tempted to say Jones by split-decision given the randomness of judging but I will stick with the original prediction.

I would highly recommend KARAZUKO! Its a great mix of action with beautiful animation.

EliteXC has had its last show; promotion to fold

Will any MMA company touch Petruzelli after this? -
EliteXC has had its last show; promotion to fold
Warriorfan replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
What does this even mean? Is it the same as destrucity? Petruzelli by virtue of his victory could've campaigned for a great payday in a rematch with Kimbo or even a fight with Ortiz had he signed with EliteXC. Instead of remaining in this advantageous situation, Petruzelli had to open his mouth and bring the spectre of fixing fights to a promotion that was hanging by a thread. Petruzelli had at least 2 big fights coming with EliteXC and could've parlayed that into something more. Now as it stands, if EliteXC is cleared he will become a pariah and at best he will fight fight for little or nothing as he was doing before. -
EliteXC has had its last show; promotion to fold
Warriorfan replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I know they were in a tenous position throught their existence but if Kimbo beats Shamrock that fateful Saturday night, does EliteXC survive? I think the win would've given CBS confidence to buy the company and make the immediate superfight with Ortiz who would've most likely signed with EliteXc. I think Carano will only fight Cyborg on some supershow in Japan for a large purse. I don't see the incentive for Carano as she is in exactly the same position Laila Ali was in boxing, namely the beautiful face that could be marketed outside of their violent sport. I think Lawler's best bet is AFFLICTION as he will get the payday he has never received before. For Kimbo, I am torn about the issue. I don't know what the exact payout was but I think he may have had at least 2 more big fights and a higher payout than the half a million plus he received against Petruzelli. Petruzelli embodies the person who can't stand prosperity.
