WWE General Discussion - February 2009

If they don't have Jake the Snake and Undertaker ruining Elizabeth and Randy's wedding afterparty at Summerslam 1991, I'll cry! They recently re-aired pretty much every part of the post-SummerSlam Savage/Snake saga on 24/7, and it was still causing people I know to mark out. At least one Flair match has gotta be guaranteed, so hopefully its WM 8, plus a lot of Hogan/Megapowers stuff. I'd also hope to finally see the Bret/Savage SNME match, unless its supposed to be on the SNME set. Speaking of the Megapowers, f they don't put the Tower of Doom Steel Cage matchI'll cry. Yeah... I'm guessing the WM VIII match with Flair would be a lock since Savage actually won that match. I'd also figure on Savage vs. DiBiase from Wrestlemania IV would be in it as well. It also makes me wonder if they'll put some of his matches that feature him losing. WM III with Steamboat has been done to death, but would they put in WM VII with Warrior for the ending alone?

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

Agreed. I love going back and hearing Jesse, while appearing to be a heel, basically giving pseudo-shoot comments on Hogan throughout his match commentaries.

Agreed, as long as it was like the original Doink and therefore, a stable of EVIL CLOWNS~! I still say that they should reboot the Doink character with a Ledger-twist. That would interest the hell out of me. Agreed. Evil Doink was great and would still be great today.

WWE General Discussion - February 2009

What graphic nature? The wwe hasn't been close to graphic in a long time... And How does an adult wrestling fan possibly enjoy a product that is catering to children? The more pg it gets, the worse it is. I don't want to return to the early 90s or 80s...the only difference right now is they don't have cartoon characters but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that's where they are going before too long. I don't get it really. One of the most successful periods they ever had along with the most successful characters they ever had were when the wwe didn't cater to children and the characters were more colorful/realistic. I'm not saying they have to go back to naked women on tv or wrestlers playing porn stars but I find it absurd and insulting that they go from one extreme to the other...whatever happened to the middle ground? Like no blood? Are you fucking kidding me? This is fucking professional wrestling for gods sake. It's no wonder why I find more enjoyment out of watching 25 year old nwa videos on youtube than i do about anything the wwe is doing today. I selfishly hope this experiment fails miserably. Dollar signs at the moment say otherwise. Catering to children is purely an economic decision and nothing more. Having children as your primary audience opens revenue streams from advertisers and other areas that would shy away from a more "Attitude" style product.

Makes you wonder what matches they'd have on it.

Come on... you all are forgetting the obvious... The urn has Bat-Phone like capabilities, and Kane is like Commissioner Gordon. Case closed.

Kofi and Rey will be bumping double time in this one.

They are loading up next week for sure... I thought Steph was just going to get Kane's torture equipment hook-up.

If it happens, they'll play it like that though: Shawn retired Flair last year... he goes to retire the streak this year.

Say what you want about the in-ring stuff, but J.B.L. is pure gold when it comes to playing a classic heel.

I'd eat at that restaurant! Seriously, though... looks like they are blowing this one off now and hopefully setting up Shawn/Taker for Wrestlemania.

Horribly since they wouldn't let Kong be Kong... See Bertha Faye. I think he's just asking about in general, not if Kong was in WWE. That would be a pretty good match. Oh I agree... it would be a heck of a match... As long as it didn't happen in the WWE.

Would Chris Jericho vs. Randy Newman really put asses in seats? Randy Newman? I thought he was meaning a Chris Jericho/Randy Couture match.

it's a start...I think teddy needs to do more of a 'spiking' action of the opponent than just elevating his legs though or get them in a million dollar dream as soon as cody DDTs them from his arms Not all double team moves have to have two people doing something to hurt a person. The Doomsday Device just had Animal lifting someone onto his shoulders. Demolition's finisher just had one holding someone down for the other to drop the elbow. Animal did at least sell the act of flipping the guy backwards after Hawk hit him with the clothesline.

    WWE Raw - February 2, 2009

Hey here comes Ted and Cody... let's see if Shane comes out and takes them down while blindfolded with one arm tied behind his back.
  19. Diamonddust

    WWE Raw - February 2, 2009

That's the only way this feud can be saved at this point... That or Orton lets Cody and Ted take repeated turns at kicking Shane as well. This angle should have been built simply: -Orton nearly kicks Vince's head off -Shane comes out but gets roughed up for his trouble, thus putting legit face heat on Shane for taking a 3-1 ass-kicking -Shane gets tormented as Legacy runs all over him -Shane bumps like a madman trying to stop Orton in the match, only for Orton to coldly kick him in the head and think nothing of it.

Jesus H. Christ... I know they have a PPV to sell, but why are they making Shane McMahon look this freaking strong!? Now that I think about it... I might just order No Way Out to see him take a kick to the head as retribution for having to sit through this nonsense.

God I wish the crowd would smarten up and just boo the ever loving daylights out of Shane McMahon.

    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

I'm pretty certain Trump wanted it there the next year after IV, and that's why they went back. As for worst spot, I'd say Hartford by a landslide. At least Las Vegas, Chicago, New York (Even if it was Long Island), and Los Angeles were major markets.

TSM Profile Tag Team Edition: Demolition

Quick question - Was it Vader who used the recycled guitar riff from the Demolition theme for his own WWE theme?
  24. That tells the story of what would have happened if Penn saw the 5th round. GSP's frustration would have been ugly to watch.

Most Intense, Passionate Promos of All Time

Agreed. It's been said here before, but I'll say it again... Someone could basically do the "Hard Times" promo, especially in light of the current economic situation, and it would again be money. Hell, it'd fit great once Shawn Michaels breaks away from JBL.
