Worst Ever "The Guy" for a Promotion/Company

Jarrett is my pick. I have never nor will ever buy him as "the man" of a promotion, even one that he runs.
  2. Anyone else notice the frustration on GSP's face at the end of round 4 and think Penn would have been in for total hell had round 5 happened?

Biggest "Drop the Ball" Moment in Ever

Ehhh... History should have told us all the Invasion was going to be doomed to fail (Look at the UWF/Crockett situation). Anyone who thought they were going to be on an equal footing and such were misguided (Myself at the time included). The Invasion angle might have failed, but the purchase of WCW, in my opinion, should be valued more for the tape library they got. They've been able to generate new revenue streams based on that alone (The WWE 24/7 channel and the subsequent DVD releases). WCW was damaged goods going into the Invasion, and outside of them getting an NWO style push from the start... they were never going to be considered serious threats. As for Hogan/Goldberg, that should have been the main-event at Starcade, and it could have been built as simply as Goldberg plowing through NWO members until reaching Hogan in December. The downside being is that WCW was too screwed up to realize that or even put a freaking rematch on pay-per-view.

Worst Year Ever for Pro Wrestling

1995 comes to mind as does 1993. There have been other bad years, but those stick out.

Biggest "Drop the Ball" Moment in Ever

Hogan vs. Goldberg on free television comes to mind.

    Biggest Fall from WrestleMania Grace

There's been a bigger match than Hogan/Andre at WM III? (I won't even throw in the one they had that is still the most watched wrestling match of all-time since it was on free television)
  7. Get a grip! I'm not necessarily thinking strickly on the mainstream media, but rather in general or as a whole. As a whole, those four incidents were the most damaging. As a whole, most people don't give a rats ass about wrestling... but the Benoit situation, Owen Hart getting killed, and the steroid trials were all huge black eyes. Mass Transit was as well, but since it was done in ECW... the impact wasn't as big as the other three.
  8. I would probably put Over the Edge before the steroid trials, but yeah... there is a huge gap between these four events and anything else.

Armchair Bookers: What if Rick Rude...

Rude would have been a nice addition, however, they would have had to address the issue that Val Venis was basically doing Rick Rude's character, only amplified in terms of edge, at the time.

TSM Profile Tag Team Edition: Demolition

    1. Better as heels or babyfaces? -It doesn't matter to me. Demolition worked either way. 2. Do you think they ever really shed the LOD/Road Warriors ripoff label? -Ehhh... The Road Warriors were always the more successful team, and they came before Demolition. As a result, Demolition will always have that stigma, even though they were a great team and gimmick. 3. Similar follow up; Demolition or The Legion of Doom/Road Warriors? -Honestly... I'd take The Road Warriors. Demolition was over, but they weren't at the level of Hawk and Animal's popularity. 4. Where would you rank them amongst the great tag teams of their era? Of all time? -They are clearly one of the best tag-teams of the late 80's/early 90's, and they rank real high on the list of WWE tag-teams. As far as all time, well, somewhere in the top 20-25. 5. Favorite matches, moments, etc. -The first wrestling show I ever went to was when they were "testing" Crush out with the team. I forgot who Demolition was facing (This was the summer of 1990, I think)... but I still remember people in the crowd cheering, "We Want Ax!" We had no idea who this "other" guy with Demolition was.

    2009 Hall of Fame

Also it seems like Vince himself wanted to induct Austin, so he bumped Flair, who as the above indicates, is induction Steamboat. Glad to see Steamboat is going in, and Flair is the one that will be inducting him. This is shaping up to be quite the class: -Steve Austin (I wouldn't be shocked if McMahon does induct him) -Ricky Steamboat (Flair inducting) -Bill Watts (Jim Ross inducting) -The Funks (Still waiting to see if this is confirmed, but I would be shocked if they didn't get the nod - My guess is Dusty will induct them) -The Von Erichs (See above and below) I wonder who gets the remaining spot or two. Do they give it to The Freebirds by virtue of the ceremony being in Texas or does Hayes' actions from last year cost them a spot this year? (Although, I can see Hayes being one to induct the Von Erich family)

That's about the only way this could make sense.

    WWE Raw - January 26, 2009

Someone obviously didn't and decided some heat needed to be taken off Orton.

    WWE Raw - January 26, 2009

It sure did. They allowed shane to DESTROY the biggest heel they have on top of taking out legacy by himself? What the fucking hell is that? They could have accomplished the same thing if they allowed orton to at least keep SOME of his heat but he just got bitched slapped by a 40 year old out of shape non wrestler. Wow...you talk about stupid stupid booking. Orton was made to look like a total bitch. Not to mention all the people that Legacy outlasted last night at the Rumble... it just kills that credibility as well.

    WWE Raw - January 26, 2009

Ok... That keeps Orton out of the Elimination Chamber... But Shane freaking McMahon just put down Orton and Legacy like it was nothing. The angle should have been Shane taking a punt to the head but still deciding to fight for the family at NWO, even with horrible odds. Orton does not need to look weak or make Shane look strong in this one.

Shane better be eating a kick here soon.

Orton threatening the concept of Wrestlemania is a nice touch.

    WWE Raw - January 26, 2009

I still think Orton is going to have to end up in the Elimination Chamber one way or the other.

And they have to keep Jericho strong and visible going into the Rourke angle.

So let me guess... Does Cena have to capture Cerberus to finish his 12th labo... I mean round?

Why does everyone seem to be crediting Rey with this move? Kendrick and Noble have done it in Battle Royals. Probably because I haven't seen Kendrick and Noble do it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have given Rey all the credit for it.
  23. Diamonddust

    WWE Raw - January 26, 2009

That spot was used before in the rumble. Noble maybe... Ahh... missed that then. Still, it was a bad-ass spot.
  24. Diamonddust

    WWE Raw - January 26, 2009

I dare them to try and top Rey's survival spot last night where he walked on Miz and Morrison's backs to prevent an elimination.
