I'm in, of course (Tampa)
-
I think it's too huge a run. It's basically the same as choosing one of the "Essential" reprints
-
Maybe I should pick only Howard Mackie series from here on out just to take that away from you...
-
For the record, I would've taken Crisis. But I think that noone will disagree with this pick:

Oddly enough, our company just landed an IT contract with Steam Whistle, and we got 2-12s out of it in addition to whatever ridiculous price we charge for services. Even more odd, most of my colleagues hadn't tried Steam Whistle before.

To be fair, Bud Light is arguably the best tasting beer-flavoured water in the US. But regardless, maybe LotC can help me out on this - did we (meaning Canadians) get all up in arms when InBev (then Interbrew) bought Labatts?
-
It's like 16-17 bucks in Calgary. Not that the expense is the reason I wouldn't try it - the fact that it is lobster on the prairies from Subway is the primary one there. I wonder if it's the cheapest thing on the menu in the Maritimes?

Affliction - Banned: Fedor vs. Sylvia
starvenger replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Especially when you consider that the UFC has zero interest in Lindland. There was really no competition for the guy. There's some shocking payouts on the undercard too. $50K for Mike Whitehead and $30K for Terry Martin to show? That's just crazy, but hey, good for them. -

Live Gate: $2,085,510 Salaries: $3,332,100 Net: -$1,246,590 (!!) So, yeah, I think they needed the PPV. They probably needed around 25,000 buys to make up that difference, and that doesn't even factor in arena rentals, production costs and whatever they paid Fedor under the table. -
Remember that the win bonus is written into their contract though - I'd assume that if the decision is overturned then Burns has that bonus taken away.
-
If you've got Bone and/or Strangers in Paradise, I'd love that. Obviously not Marvel or DC, but yeah, I'd love that. As for as Marvel goes, I'd second the Secret Invasion stuff. More specifically the Bendis New/Mighty Avengers pre-SI.

As I mentioned before, there was also Swick cutting to 170 where he looked like crap against Burkman. I'd have to agree with those who are saying that the fight will be changed to a No Contest. And let's give Rumble some credit for showing class in a situation where he really should've been saying that he got screwed. I'm pretty sure that no other LHW was willing to take on Silva on such short notice. Can you blame them?
-
Vera was clearly gassed after round 1. Reminded me of Swick's debut at 170, actually. I was hoping for Silva to tap out Irvin to once again expose his one trick pony status but the "catch kick, then knock him the fuck out" worked just as well. Cain. Fuck yeah. I shoulda bet more than 500 on him in the Playground. Missed CB's sub. Bugger

Looks like most of that 20 is probably water.

Never as long as they keep giving Mariska some oral pleasure. Anyways, even I can't believe that they're doing a Reality Show Host category. And even moreso that Alton Brown wasn't nominated. Iron Chef IS a reality show, right? I suppose that Reality Show cameo is gonna be a category next year. As for reality competition, it's probably going to Amazing Race once again. The Mole came along too late in the nominations process, I think so there's nothing I see that would truly stands out to beat it.

Actually, I have to make a pick before it gets back to him. And that pick is NOT Josh Barnett since CubanLinx drafted him and I somehow missed that. So instead I'm forced to go deeper into the Heavyweights and choose Sly Winkle lookalike Frank Mir
-
I think Ace and Chuck were taken off the board when someone dropped out but had already taken them. Rich's buddy Jorge "Gary" Gurgel is still available though...
-
I PMed him telling to make his pick for the previous round. If I don't see anything within a reasonable amount of time (given the speed of this draft, that means this evening) I'll go ahead and pick.
-
Are we giving AA another 24 hours?
-
It's been way over 24 hours, so I'm picking: Vladimir Matyushenko
-
I thought we were doing all time though. Besides which, I'd get a kick out of someone drafting the only guy (I think) that was in BOTH the original UFC game and Virtual Pro Wrestling...
-
I don't see why he wouldn't...

Circuit Breaker. Granted, the lack of actual costume material isn't necessarily a BAD thing, but it never really made sense to have a costume made of duct tape especially since you're fighting giant robots who may (on occasion) lay the smack down on your paralyzed candy ass. BTW, how did Marvel not try to collect royalties from Paramount for Seven of Nine?
-
Two words: Fuck yeah.
-
I want to be clear on this - we're basically looking at a series of issues that are or could be considered for TPBs, Graphic Novels, etc? Meaning that something like the Cerebus phonebooks, Marvel HCs, Masterworks and those B&W bathroom readers (well, that's what I do with them, anyway) are off the table?
