TSM TOP TEN: Light-Heavyweights
starvenger replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
You need to leave the terms "promise", "upside" and "potential" for young pups like Houston Alexander... Lyoto, I think that he pretty much is what he is, and I just don't see him noticeably improving his game with each fight, so in my mind, he doesn't show promise. But if what he does is enough to beat the "name" guys (and we need to see him face some of those guys), all power to him - and it'll make you look like a genius for ranking him that high. -
If you got Travis Henry in any fantasy leagues..

You should have told this to Onterrio Smith and Ricky Williams. At least they had the opportunity to try out the CFL. No such luck for Henry due to the new rules. -
(3.5) Arizona @ St. Louis Atlanta @ Tennessee (8.5) Carolina @ New Orleans (3.5) Cleveland @ New England (16.5) - it's scary that I'm not afraid to give the points here. Detroit @ Washington (3.5) (2.5) Jacksonville @ Kansas City Miami @ Houston (5.5) N.Y. Jets @ N.Y. Giants (3.5) Seattle @ Pittsburgh (5.5) Tampa @ Indianapolis (10.5) (3.5) Baltimore @ San Francisco San Diego @ Denver (1.5) Chicago @ Green Bay (3.5) (10.5) Dallas @ Buffalo Tampa - 17

I don't know if he'd like the popcorn popper because it's one of those dreaded unitaskers. That's true. BTW he also went the Jiffy Pop route and did popcorn on the stove with a metal mixing bowl, foil and tongs as hardware. I believe he coated the kernels in oil though, so it's got more of a movie theatre taste to it.

Rashad Evans versus Michael Bisping to headline UFC 78
starvenger replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Good stuff from a fight perspective, not so much from a name recognition one (for casual fans). Couldn't they have scheduled Serra/Hughes here? -
Let's be fair - it was probably closer to 20.

Nothing wrong with that. An affinity towards squirrels could lead to taking down Dr. Doom or Thanos... I'm just waiting for Seal to be cast in that role. Anyway, reusing powers never really affected the X-Men, so there's that going for the reuse argument. Slightly off topic, but does anyone remember how NOT reusing powers was a plot point of the Birds of Prey TV series?

I don't think they liked her in The Color Purple. I hate her over the top cult like fans more than her. I'm just indifferent to Oprah. See, that's fair. Oprah's managed to capitalize on a situation and all power to her for it. Also, I'm pretty sure that $260 mil includes her company producing both Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray. And how can people hate on Judge Judy? She gives verbal smackdowns to idiots who deserve/need it - and gets paid for doing so on the top rated syndi-court show. Actually, I see it now - it's the syndi-court show thing.

That, sir, is untrue, given that Chyna was a Diva. But point taken - there is a definite "yikes" factor there, and moreso when Ashley doesn't have makeup on. Also, I really have to question Matt Hardy's taste in women.
-
Since I'm playing you, you'll forgive me if I don't wish you good luck...

Fair enough.

I think you probably could've avoided that whole analogy by saying that the skin irritates your throat when you eat fried chicken hot. To be perfectly honest I'm more of a Popeye's man. Not sure how they make the spicy chicken at KFC in the US but up here the hot sauce is in the skin, whereas the chicken at Popeye's is dipped in the hot sauce, then into the batter and fried. Also, the Popeye's chicken up here is certified Halal, which could also make a difference.

Yes we are, although personally I'm not really big on going to the drive thru (you may have figured that out from the McDonald's story) except maybe ATMs (when they're not busy). Funniest thing I remember is when I worked in Houston there's a drive thru Starbucks off Kirby that would tie up a lane because of the drive-thru lineup. And you couldn't park there because the drive thru line blocked the entrances. I'm pretty sure that driving out of the Starbucks was a pain in the ass as well.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not expecting liquid gold for $1, but the $1 honey beers are horrible.

Eh, it was going to happen, and let's be honest - the alpha male is the next lowest on the totem pole. Dave's a jerk, but they figured that his camp skills outweigh his being a bitch in challenges, thus he stays at least 3 more days. They lose, he's done.

Which Honey Brown? Please tell me that you're not talking about the Buck a Beer brands.

Well, if he's still got that goal of holding two belts at once, he'd have to, no? You've got it right though. That length has been what has given Silvia such an advantage over his opponents. But as Couture showed, if you can get inside that length is negated. You show too much respect for that length, and Sylvia will win this one in a waddle.
-
It is what it is, man. Hard to explain, but then again, I'm Asian - I eat a lot of strange stuff.
-
Mohinder =Greg Evigan Matt=Paul Reiser So is Micah Giovonni Ribisi or Chad Lowe then?
-
Well, if you win 19 fights in a row, then lose two straight, and have to deal with the "fun" that is a staph infection. I don't care who you are or how mentally tough you're purported to be - that's gonna take something away from you from a psychological standpoint.
-
Diego seeing GSP's shrink is where he needs to go. A guy as whacked out as Sanchez probably needs his head screwed back on after losing 2 in a row.
-
I believe I got smoked this week.

I'm indifferent if Ace wins, but if he loses and loses bad it'll be worth it to see Gurgel cry. Vera/Sylvia should be interesting. I know that most people on this here forum would like to see the big ape lose, but a motivated Sylvia can be dangerous. Of course, an UNmotivated, lazy, waddling Sylvia can still be dangerous just because of the reach advantage. Hopefully Vera's watched some tape of Couture dominating Sylvia

I see. Thx. Should point out that I wouldn't have known that Czech changed his name either unless YPoV mentioned it. Maybe I should visit those wrestling folders every once in a while...
