One of the things I miss the most about Houston is Amy's Ice Cream, which was pretty close to where I lived. One of the things I miss the least? The humidity.

The heading "Remake for Enter the Dragon" makes us assume it's a martial-arts heavy movie, right off. Plus, the one-liner says that the agent is "infiltrating underground kung-fu fight clubs", which at the end of the day will probably be MMA fight clubs. Now to be fair, I did read somewhere that it would be a noir thriller, but still - if someone says that you're remaking Enter the Dragon, you're expecting a martial arts movie.

Only Bolo can play Bolo.

I gotta say, I've got mixed feelings on this one. I love the original movie but it is being written and directed by Kurt Sutter with gives me some hope. I just hope they manage to make it different enough from the original to warrent remaking it. I'm actually shocked that it took this long to make a maxiseries about Lee. I guess Chinese television finally ran out of ideas for stories involving Wong Fei-Hong? Anyways, to remake Enter the Dragon... well, it's not as if other films didn't blatantly steal bits from Enter the Dragon. Mortal Kombat is the first one that springs to my mind. Still, I have reservations about this, because seriously, the list of people that could do Bruce Lee justice is pretty short - Jet Li (who isn't doing any more martial arts films), Tony Jaa and maybe MMA/K-1 fighter Cung Le (who in this mini-movie is in an MMA fight with boxing gloves?). Which of course means that we'll get Nic Cage in the lead role.

Not too many Eastern European places that I know of. There's an Austrian place on Main Street Unionville, but I've never been. Anyone tried Phil's BBQ? Heard it's pretty much the best place for BBQ stuff in TO, but again, I've never been.

Ced, where is this all you can eat place you speak of? I must hit it when I come back to No-Cal in October As for buffets, other than a casino or your Fresh Choice/Souplantation type places they do nothing for me. But would the Fresh Choice places be considered buffets or would they be salad bars on steroids? Someone needs to check the definition, but as far as I'm concerned, if you pay one price to partake from a variety of foods - one trip or unlimited - it's a buffet. BTW, plenty of AYCE Japanese buffets up here in Toronto. Generally the sushi has a ton of rice, the sashimi choice is limited, and you've only got 2 hours to go at it. Oh, and cash only.

The idea for most buffets obviously is value for money. Generally speaking, the food is not very good there. However, if you eat at a buffets at the megacasinoresorts in Vegas or on a cruise boat, it's a whole 'nother story. The funny thing about these places is that I'm more inclined not to stuff myself silly at them.

World of Kebabs? The wife has decided to boycott Pickle Barrel after the incident where her fish and chips consisted of baked High Liner-esque battered fish. And fries. Personally, I'm disappointed that the latkes have gone from the giant potato pucks to tater tots. With that being said I still love the sandwiches there.

One that doesn't star Matt Salinger, I take it. -

Looks more like Donald Blake to me. -
Kind of ironic that it's the other way around up here. Thanks for the cooking spray tip guys. I didn't even think about that.

Plus with satellite you can generally split the signal (and thus the cost) with someone else, provided they have their own dish and decoder boxes. I'm currently splitting my StarChoice up here in Canada with a buddy down in Cleveland. BTW, you can get Sunday Ticket on all the satellite and cable providers up here.

I'm liking how you can see the two sides of the coin with New Warriors and The Initiative. Also impressed with how Grievoux has tried to integrate the previous continuity into the current one. It really helps get the bad taste of Wells and Young's bastardization out of my mouth.

...who was also subbed by a guy who can't see clearly past his fist...

If she was, I'd be bragging about threesomes in the LSD forums. No, she likes all the high octane violent stuff, provided it isn't two guys in tights/boardshorts rolling around on the mat... hmmm, maybe I should ease her in with some K-1...

Bring wifey. Tell her she'll see a bunch of hot young dudes with their shirts off rolling around. And seriously, what could make an already-awesome show more awesome then a live birth? Answer: Nothing. Yeah, but that would take away from the grappling. Plus, she's not into MMA. I'm pretty sure she'd enjoy roller derby, but that's neither here nor there.

Can't guarantee anything, as the kid countdown would be at T-minus 14 days, so pretty much anything can happen from around mid-September until the expected date (Oct 12, if you're wondering).

Trish is indeed hosting, and of course she looks good. She's got pretty good comic timing. Also Joe Flaherty was a host, but he quit and Dave Thomas took his place. It was actually somewhat surreal. Overall, I think it's a good look at how hard improv really is. Having a skit bomb in front of an audience can't feel all that great, y'know?

I have to say, I'm liking Canada's Next Comedy Legend. Sure, it's got the elimination format we're all familiar with (although it's your photo/CV through a shredder as opposed to, say, snuffing a torch), but it's more about the improv and the creation process behind creating a comedy revue than the reality part - which they tend to poke fun at quite a bit. But to be honest, I think it's one of those shows that would never fly in the US.

Um, a guy that's not familiar with Nakamura? Help your fellow 905er out with some video. So anyway, I looked him up, and well, color me impressed as far as quality of opponents go. Not that many easy fights as far as I can tell. Machida should, in theory, be no problem for him, but Nakamura's never fought in a cage before.

Just want to claify that I never said it was a plothole, I just said it was lazy writing. Just claifying. I was referring to Swigg when I said that luke, but I think everyone's on the same page - it was pretty much a same shit, different pile kind of thing.
-
Is this because Machida might actually be in an interesting fight?

To be honest, I just figured that they took something from Beast Wars, where the stasis pods did the scanning and imprinting an alt form on the protoforms. This just took it a step further, where the scanning technology was built into the Transformers themselves. This was never explicitly said during the movie, but when you watch the Autobots gain their Blatant Product Placement alt forms, you kinda figure it out. Basically, as was said, lazy writing and a trivial matter, definitely not a giant gaping plothole.

This is also why big stars claim a share of the gross. Claim a share of the net or profits, and the studios will do their best to turn a deficit. Fascinating stuff, what they'll do to make things look bad.

That, my friend, would be several degrees of awesomeness, just because there's so much hate there between Rogan and Holness.
