Actually, he's Lusitanic (I learned a new word today... yay?). He lost his UFC debut to Paul Taylor in Manchester.

I'm not sure, but I do know that Rogan doesn't like to have dead air during the broadcasts. I'm sure he'll have something, whether we want to know or not.
-
I could see that - never mind that Henderson came into the Octagon with TWO Pride belts after the Rampage/Iceman fight. But yeah, I could totally see Dana try to pull some sort of WWE revisionist history with that one. And if he did, he'd be wise to tell Rogan to STFU about it, because you know Joe will yap nonstop about that.

Miller-Garcia. That could be a fun fight. I'd heard that Quarry had undergone surgery last year, so good to hear he's making a comeback.
-
True, but the thing was that Hopkins/Wright wasn't for a title, and (pro) boxing weight classes have a much smaller range than MMA, except at Cruiserweight and Heavyweight levels. The other thing is - the Pride WW belt was contested at 183lbs, so wouldn't it make more sense to contest that at the Unified class of Middleweight?

Just DL/watch the Mirror Universe episodes of Enterprise. It was good stuff, I promise you. But, but, it's the internet... how will we manage if we're not cynical and snarky?

Are you looking forward to the FOX version coming this fall? I am, and I'm also not looking forward to it, because it's on Fox, meaning that I've no idea whether they're staying true to the show's roots, whether they'll bounce the show around the schedule, and/or whether they'll cancel the series after two eps because it's been scheduled around the World Series. Corrected for accuracy. Top Chef is great, but it's no Good Eats.

My point exactly Lush. Most of the Trek movies have been garbage - why change now?
-
What, because the last couple of Trek movies were so stellar?

I've yet to see a Hang Time alumnus be worth a damn since starring on the show, although I suppose Reggie Theus has a chance to prove me wrong.

Are you kidding me? <5 second pause> Dan Patrick <5 second pause> would've caused the show <5 second pause> to be 10 hours <5 second pause> instead of one <5 second pause> Dan is quite possibly <5 second pause> the worst host <5 second pause> on ESPN Radio. <10 second pause> And yes, that DOES include Cowherd.

That's somewhat of an homage to "More Than Meets the Eye", I think. I mean, where did the Decepticons end up there?
-
Well, the good news is that he's not a Bob Barker clone, or Rosie. The bad news is this could be a train wreck along the lines of having Rikki Lake hosting Game Show Marathon.
-
To be fair - noone, including Leben himself, would label him as a halfway intelligent guy.

I just discovered that the word Buccaneer has it's roots based on roasting stuff over an open fire. In other news, I'm back and reclaiming the City of Tampa.

I think he's on the last fight of his contract, and really, the UFC has gotten about as much as they can out of him. It's pretty obvious at this point that Leben's not going to get any better than he is, and no doubt he's looking to get more than Dana knows he's worth. So I'm thinking that they're trying to line up Martin for a title shot, and beating the paint off Leben's head would give Martin some credibility with the casual fans other than "the guy who got hit with the flying knee. No, that's McCarthy. No, not him either - that's Wiman. The black guy".

And since they don't have team facilities or the finances of #81 of the Cowboys, they can't just go out and buy a hyperbaric chamber to help them out. Still, the point is that the rules are in place to catch those that may use it to increase physical ability. If you're using a steroid to help you recover faster, then realistically you should know how long it takes to flush it out of your system. -

They'll strip him, but if we base things on the Sylvia precedent then Sherk will get a shot at the title once his suspension is up. Of course, the LW division is stacked compared to the HWs back then so Sherk may be forced to hump his way though a couple of guys before he gets a title shot. -
It's probably similar to Brandon Vera, where he simply doesn't want to cut that much weight going into a fight. BTW, we've got Gray Maynard vs Joe Veres and apparently Leben's taking on Terry Martin at UFN 11. Dunno if Leben thinks that's an easier fight or something, but last I checked Martin's been doing pretty darn good at 185, and Leben doesn't have a flying knee in his arsenal.
-
That's part of his schtick, I think. . Not sure if you'll get the Jamie Oliver bit though.
-
And apparently Swick/Goulet at 170 is on.
-
Don't worry - with Ron Mexico and Chris Benoit in the news noone's gonna notice.
-
Apparently there is a way to get the title off of Sherk - have him test positive for Nandralone...

Double post. Nothing to see here.

I think someone might actually beat out Amazing Race for an Emmy this year. Rachel Griffiths will probably win Supporting Actress - Drama this year since everyone else is from Grey's or Sopranos. Surprised that Chris Meloni didn't get nominated this year for SVU as I think he turned in his best season yet, but it's a killer list of nominees. Speaking of killer list: Shalhoub is probably the favourite having won the Emmy three times (03, 05, 06) already but do the voters want to give him a threepeat? Sheen holds the fort for the traditional sitcom but is a dark horse. Baldwin was frankly, hilarious and Gervais and Carell were, well Gervais and Carell. I don't see Ricky winning though because I figure that some voters may not "get" Extras. Overall, no real issues with the nominees, except perhaps with the three Grey's actresses in supporting-drama. Seems like one too many.
