    The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition

I'm pretty sure that Danielle's mask saw her boob pop out or something and fell off the peg, because her "successful" throw caught nothing but air. I find it funny that the Guidos are once again 24 hours behind the lead team. Couldn't happen to nicer guys. And yeah, total shennanigans on the "oh, the weather is bad". Too true. Not to mention the "enthusiastic" cheering when finding out what a catamaran was. Scary thought - they've now almost won as many legs as Romber this time around.

    My Name is Earl

I found this interesting. Chubby's son, Little Chubby (of course) will appear in a new episode, and he's being played by... Norm Macdonald. Brilliant!

    American Idol

IdolForums is saying that it's pop songs. Special Guest performers are Gwen Stefani and Akon. So basically, you're looking at a catalogue that theoretically goes from the 50's until now.

    Zuffa Buys PRIDE

If by unified you mean similar to the IBF/WBA/WBC idea of unified, I'm all for it. I don't know that a Pride belt should be defended in the Octagon, or a UFC belt in a ring. If you're gonna be the "undisputed" MMA champion, you should have to prove it in both venues. I think what we will see is Pride make a full shift to Unified Rules though.
  7. The two best books that if you're not reading, you should (seeing that Nextwave is done): X-Factor and Checkmate. Also currently on my pull list: Justice Society, Green Lantern Corps, Legion of Super-Heroes, Uncanny X-Men And I've previously been a proponent of New X-Men, but with craptastic artist Skottie Young coming aboard, I just can't recommend it anymore.

TSM TV Badass Tournament nominations thread

I can try for some... no real reason in particular for the choices save that I know the characters and/or want to be snarky. Omar Little - The Wire - He's on The Wire. Even the kids on The Wire are required to be badass. Or so my buddy Mathan tells me. Malcolm Rynolds - Firefly - Because Whedonites need to feel that Firefly had some level of importance in the universe. Which in an indirect way, it did - see James Cameron and the tomb of Jesus. Jack Bauer - 24 - Has been legally dead, twice. Tortured by the Chinese for 20 months, comes back and his first kill is via vampire bite. Also survived a brief foray into being a Forrest Gump lookalike. James T Kirk - Star Trek - Not many people sleep with green-skinned aliens on TV. On the negative side, both he and Riker did a lot of sleeping around with humanoid species, and got a lot bigger as time went on. I'm just saying Commander Worf - Star Trek TNG - JTTS when it came to anyone who invaded the Enterprise. Which happened a lot, actually. And let's just ignore the whole Troi thing. Was a much badder ass when paired with Sisko. Sawyer- Lost - Probably the best smack talker on episodic television today. Sylar - Heroes - He's just a bit off. And that makes him a psycho killer who (maybe) eats brains to acquire powers. John Locke - LOST - Was pretty badass in season one. We've since learned that he gets used more than a chick in a gangbang. T-Bag - Prison Break - He's a perv, but if you wanna do something about it, he'll kill ya. B.A. Baracus - A-Team - Showed incredible self-restraint by not killing Murdock. Dr. Gregory House - House M.D. - I got nuthin'. Quite simply, he's House. Bob Fucking Barker - Sure, he beat up Happy Gilmore, but that was in a movie. So I'll just say that I'm pretty sure his "inspiration putt" percentage is ridiculously good. Joe Rogan - Crusader against those who steal jokes, and someone who could probably legit kick your ass. Al Bundy-Married with Children - Two words: NO MA'AM Admiral William Adama, BSG - Let's face it - Edward James Olmos is to badass leader like Christopher Walken is to creepy character. The Incredible Hulk - If you ever get an autograph from Lou Ferrigno, expect to pay a lot. Aaron Pierce - 24 - 6 seasons and he hasn't died yet. Plus, he's (probable) banging the ex-President's estranged wife. Michael Knight - Knight Rider - Screw it. Knight was nothing without Mr. Feeney helping him.

    The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition

It pretty much underscores why they're one of the most popular teams, ever. You know there's no way any of other teams get away with chasing Phil like that. Well, except the Hippies, but they're not racing.

Kato, The Green Hornet. Sure he was a man servant, but it's Bruce fucking Lee, people. I don't care if he wins. Bruce fucking Lee. Captain Benjamin Sisko, Star Trek: DS9. Worf and Kirk are pussies by comparison. Just my opinion, of course. And Joe Rogan, since he is a legit badass.

    The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition

In case anyone is tempted to call shenanigans in advance, you CAN get kicked off a plane for no reason whatsoever. But it's more likely that they were at the bottom of the standby list and they had to get kicked off for something like the plane being overweight. Insert joke about Charla's ass here. And yeah, Danny and his "faggy racoon" buddy were hilarous chasing Phil around.

    American Idol

Nor I, really. Unsurprising given the era you and I grew up in. I'm just saying that Duran Duran really isn't what I'd call "British Invasion", you know? Although I suppose that the 80s were a bit (to put it mildly) of a British Invasion...

    American Idol

Did they say British Invasion or BritPop? Because I know British Invasion won't be pretty with this group. With BritPop, if Sanjaya destroys a 5ive song, it's likely noone would care. Of course, it's Sanjaya, he'll try and destroy a Robbie or Joss Stone song. Edit: Did a check of IdolForum - the theme is British Invasion, so theoretically it should be the Beatles, the Stones, etc. But you know it's gonna be chock full of Duran Duran and Erasure.
