More likely... Sylar acquired freezing powers from someone. Given that Primatech doesn't exactly have top of the line medical equipment, he could lower his internal temperature and telekinetically slow his heartbeat down to simulate death.
-
He's lucky that Rashad doesn't know how to sweep the leg...
-
One year + $1000 max? That seems kinda... light. But of course this is only a criminal case, not a civil one.
-
That's pretty much what I figured. Cap pretty much is the Avengers, and if you've brought back Bucky you might as well do something interesting with him now that the Winter Soldier thing has played itself out. As for Captain Marvel... well they managed to not do much of a retcon (yet), but personally I think that using the time travel angle is worse - it shows very little imagination. Of course, it's Millar, and like Morrison he's very hit or miss, so I shouldn't be THAT surprised...

It's an issue that's unique to MMA, I think. My feeling is that the fighters "know" that their opponent is either out or close to it, but again the instinct is to keep going until the ref stops the fight. As noted, Rashad's followup punches were more for show than to inflict punishment, and the ref was perhaps a half second too slow to react to the kick.
-
This wouldn't happen if he was white. What was he suppose to do after the kick run around the ring to do a victory dance while Salmon bitches and complains about early stoppage to the ref? Yes, and he's also supposed to do the Flair strut and "WHOOO!" as well...
-
That's the whole idea, isn't it? Lob some softballs at Simon so he can knock it out of the park. And it's pretty much become the prototype for the "open audition" phase of a "reality" competition show. Sad, really.

Fair 'nuff.

It was more along the lines of "Hi, my name... well, you better just call me Crabman", wasn't it?

That's the one. I missed the first nameplate - even more awesome. It is... although I'm not sure I'd want to WORK there...

New character! Does this constitute jumping the shark?
-
I'm sure he beats himself up in a White Castle parking lot as well...

Most television is crappy, "reality" or no. And I've been cutting down quite a bit - I've committed to Mondays and Thursdays for TV, and one hour Sunday for Amazing Race, but since I'm working again and also taking a weekend course I need to put some time aside to study. Oh and some time for the wife. That's probably important, too.

It's probably more accurate to call it a glorified talent competition. As for original songs, naiwf does have a point. It's not something that's been a huge issue for a while. Plus vocal talent doesn't necessarily mean songwriting talent. I've only been able to make one prediction, and that was Eva Avila in the recent Canadian Idol. I'm horrible at these things...

Well, yeah, but I'm just saying: 1) a human bomb blows up people in a Marvel comic. 2) Jeph Loeb works for Marvel. I'm just saying. But you're right. Majumder can be Speedball...
-
People that would rather see a "reality" competition rather than a "reality" freakshow where producers deliberately send bad people to the judges to smack down.
-
Yuna and I aren't questioning the former. We were just wondering what the criteria for "adapted" was, since there's no real script to adapt, you know? But you're saying that because the character and concept originated somewhere else, then it's not considered "original". So I think we're good.
-
You're better off making a Civil War reference instead of a 24 one, I think. Kal Penn can be Speedball/Penance...

Dear Fox, THIS SHIT'S NOT FUNNY!!!!! sincerly, America *of course, I guess I shouldn't sign it "America" because millions of us idiots watch the shit* Amen. Get to Hollywood week already.

John Munch is a gimmick as it is at this point - he's been on seven different TV series spanning 14 years. My personal favourite are the Mirror Universe episodes on Star Trek. Oddly enough though, I'm not too high on the original episode, but I love the DS9 and Enterprise ones...

This one will probably not even last a round because of the difference in styles. I have to question whether either guy even remembers as far back as KOTC 4 (or was it 3?). Total role reversal here as Eastman was the favourite back then and Rampage was a relative newbie who I think took the fight on short notice. Hope Eddie gets a decent payday for this. Although given that this is the UFC... probably not. Maybe Crop Cop can give him his "KO of the Night" bonus... Don't know much about Hazelett. Presumably he doesn't have the skills to really test Guillard. "Swing" is the operative word here. These guys are gonna bang. And maybe Cote can finally get his first UFC win. Or maybe he should just go back to TKO... Undercard Terry Martin is on a quest. Apparently that quest is to get TKO'ed in two different weight classes. Both guys are undefeated, but I don't think that Edgar has fought anyone of consequence yet. Are his fights exciting?

I was thinking the same thing. Yes, but the actors playing Toby and Kelly are also writers, so I'd argue that for at least these two characters they filled a role and the character moulded around them after. Kelly especially, since they needed Mindy Kaling for "Diversity Day". Aren't Angela, Ryan, and Oscar also either writers or producers? Figured I didn't need to mention B.J. Novak since he gets one of the 5 major acting credits on the show. Dwight working the floor at Staples... I'm getting flashbacks to my time there (well, Business Depot, but same company, different country)...

Well, I think you know what I mean about Barkley on Idol. And if you think about it, the pop music industry as a whole is a joke anyway, so the Idol winner getting a recording contract isn't that far fetched. Last season was built around Taylor having every opportunity to win the title. If I had taped every episode and looked back at Simon's early comments WRT Taylor I'd probably see that almost every one was crafted so as to help Taylor gain votes to propel him to the Top 12. His inherent quirkiness did the rest.
