    Heroes

I liked his butterfly effect reference when he saw the picture, plus how he's now more determined to find that sword. Was it a butterfly effect reference? I thought it was a Simpsons reference Although he didn't coin the phrase, read "A Sound of Thunder" by Ray Bradbury. It's pretty much where the notion was popularized in fiction.

    Heroes

No. He threw around Parkman (or was it Audrey?) around like a rag doll, and he cuts victims open with his teke. I admit I could be wrong about HRG having powers, but I'm sticking to what I've said. If I'm wrong... well, I'm wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. Or the last (I'm married, after all). I liked his butterfly effect reference when he saw the picture, plus how he's now more determined to find that sword.

Prison Break? Embellish? Surely you must be joking...

    Full Screen, Widescreen or Widescreen?

I wish more networks would follow NBC's lead and air their shows in widescreen. For the most part, the first time I get to see shows in widescreen is when I review the DVD sets.

    Las Vegas

I'll be honest, for me there's nothing particulaly spectacular or unique about the show outside of the setting. You're not going to be blown away by anything that happens on the show, but you're not gonna be left with the feeling that you've wasted an hour watching it. So basically, it's ER in a casino. Enough continuity so that loyal viewers are rewarded, but not so much that you'll feel completely lost if you're a new/casual viewer. Give it a look, but I think that you'll find that it won't become a "must watch" show for you.

    Heroes

No, the Haitian does. He also has the power to erase memories, it looks like (like he did to Claire's brother and Zack and her mother). It seems that he has a different agenda from HRG, though. Where was the Haitian when HRG went in to confront Sylar? Why was HRG so confident that this guy couldn't hurt him? He's definitely a meta, but like Peter it isn't detectable because it's only obvious in the presence of other metas.

    Cro Cop to UFC?

No, you feed a guy with some name power to him first (like, say, Mir), THEN give him the title shot. Hey, it worked for Anderson Silva. This is true. Here's to hoping Vera beats Sylvia.

I believe C Dubya wins the no-prize for calling the death. And interestingly, HRG seems to have the power to negate powers.

    The Amazing Race: 10 Edition

The blonde ones? They were Amish? I just realized that maybe you were talking about Lena and Kristy, who aren't twins or Amish, but are Mormon and hot.

    The Amazing Race: 10 Edition

I only hate two of them. I've been largely indifferent to Tyler and James, but at least they're not whining every two minutes. But by default I'm rooting for them.

    Las Vegas

Took me a few minutes to accept that it was him. His face has gotten so pudgy, he looks a bit like Tony Curtis. Did he get a cool death atleast? Technically, he's not dead... at least not by the end of the ep he wasn't... He'll be back if the show isn't cancelled. Shooter is at the level of guest staring in numerous episodes of shows like Las Vegas. Could Hollywood please find another older asian male. It's that same guy. He played the Monk on Las Vegas, he owned the Chinese Restraunt on Seinfeld. As I told my wife, James Hong is the go-to "Old Asian Guy" for TV.

    kkk Bowl IV: Week 13

Pulled off another one. Now that I've guaranteed myself at least a .500 finish, it's time to shoot for the playoffs...

I think the show was hurt somewhat by the kidnapper being Shooter McGavin...

What are your top five in each division?

It's not that I disagree, it's that I'm curious. UFC is (allegedly) making a push to revitalize the division, and I'm not sure that anyone cares about Sherk.
  17. Yeah he's also huge into psychadelics (LSD, DMT, etc.). I was listening to an interview with him on some radio show where he was talking about how he has some kind of chamber in his basement where he locks himself in and takes LSD and whatnot. Yet, he can probably still kick the shit out of most of us while high.

What are your top five in each division?

Just curious, but where does the Muscle-Humping Shark rank for you guys? And your rankings show that I need to watch more Bushido.

    Survivor: Cook Island

Truer words have never been spoken, naiwf. This season has been a never-ending string of WTF? moments. And you know what? It keeps us watching. Straightforward, Pagonging seasons are a lot more boring than watching people screw themselves over. Actually, this is the one place where they did the right thing, strategically. It's a 4-3 advantage with Jonathan being a stray vote. However, voting Jonathan out means that only one person has to flip and CAP has the numbers. And don't think that Flirty Girl can't break that alliance. Now, with Candice gone , and a 4-2-1 situation, Jonathan can be safely voted off... although like I said, he's the perfect candidate to go against in the final 2. Maybe CAP won't vote for Yul, but they will if he's up against Jonathan. Of course, that game has to get to that point first. My thought? He's related to the Cho brothers. Candice was hilarious, taking her supposed "high road" and being indignant over Jonathan's treachery when a) pre-Mutiny she and the others were planning to vote him out, b) SHE was the first one to Mutiny and c) she knew that the guy wasn't to be trusted in the first place. I see a case where Flirty Girl and Adam have a right to feel betrayed, but Candice has zero reason to. Played with integrity my ass. I'd wager money that Candice will give us the most hypocritical question/statement during the Final TC.

    Astonishing X-Men

I also find myself liking X-Men as of late. It certainly is the most readable it's been in I don't know how long, as I felt it was by far the weakest of the X-Titles compared to the other two core titles. It hasn't returned to its former glory under Morrison and such but it has been quite enjoyable under Carey and Bachalo. Morrison's run was terribly overrated. His first few arcs were great for shaking up the status quo but the last few... ugh. Luckily for Morrison, people were too busy bashing Chuck Austen to remember the bad stuff.

    Heroes

Well that's the whole point. Killing Ando would be a crippling blow emotionally, kinda like how killing Hurley in the first season of Lost would've been (sadly Hurley is nothing more than a 5 seconds per episode character at this point). He's had enough time invested in him to make it mean something to us, plus it's a way to propel the storyline forward.

Here's a place to start You're welcome. BTW, Debrii was one of the New Warriors, not Nextwave. But don't let that stop you from reading. For instance, you get this:

    Peacher On HBO

You're right about that. There is simply no way you can do that series justice in 180 minutes or less. They'd really need to go the way of LotR on this one.

    Heroes

Well, your first thought is pretty much the definition of "comic book death". And you're right - killing DL or Parkman would be lame, kind of like killing Boone, or Shannon, or anyone else who's died on Lost. Killing Ando would be a better choice. Here's an odd thought - they've harped upon how Jack Coleman (HRG) is supposed to become a regular cast member with this coming episode - what if that's a swerve and HRG buys it? It's back in Jan. NBC just released their 2007 schedule, and nothing's changed on Mondays.
