Ultimate Fighter Season 4 the thread...
starvenger replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
That would be pretty much the most awkward thing ever. How about explaining to his girlfriend this quote: "Women come and go, but motorcycles are forever". Lutter may not make it to Silva... -
Wow this is late for me. Serves me right for agreeing to do a recap of the TUF4 finale... (7.5) Baltimore at Tennessee Buffalo at Indianapolis (12.5) Chicago at N.Y. Giants (2.5) Cleveland at Atlanta (7.5) Green Bay at Minnesota (5.5) Houston at Jacksonville (10.5) (1.5) Kansas City at Miami New Orleans at Pittsburgh (4.5) N.Y. Jets at New England (10.5) (1.5) San Diego at Cincinnati San Francisco at Detroit (6.5) Washington at Philadelphia (7.5) (9.5) Denver at Oakland (7.5) Dallas at Arizona St. Louis at Seattle (3.5) Tampa Bay at Carolina (9.5) Tampa - 10

I want that as my ring tone. This site claims to be able to convert mp3s and such to ringtones. I can't confirm, seeing I'm on Virgin Mobile and don't have email or bluetooth. But yeah, if I get a new phone, I'm definitely getting that as a ringtone.

<Raises hand> Right here.

I forgot to mention, if you're really obsessive, you can get the theme song at the home page of the Scrantones

It seems to be a real stretch to say "we're closing your branch", and then go "no, we're now gonna close YOUR branch" because Josh is leaving. Especially with the way they worked the timeline. But then again, maybe that's one reason why Dunder-Mifflin is a mid-sized paper company that's struggling against the big box stores. Regardless, I agree about keeping Michael as a travelling salesman or something, but I'm sure that his hourly performance chart had something to do with their decision. And possibly the whole Carol over Jan thing. Next week should be interesting when Dwight finds out that he's not really the ARM.

Was that ending a WTF deus ex or what?
-
OK, all I can say is either Jonathan's next to go or he's in the Final 2. No in between.
-
Except Jack will look a lot like Taye Diggs, and Canadian Evangeline Lilly will look a lot like Canadian Vicky Pratt...

Hey, the reporter was weasel Homeland Security guy on 24 last season, right?
-
Don't expect him to be on for very long. But as for why he's "evil" this episode, there's a pretty good reason for it. It's a pretty good episode this week, btw. Naturally it's based Have I mentioned that I love the fact that we get to see this on Sundays in Canada?

They showed Adama shaving his moustache at the end of Exodus part 2. I'm assuming that the (neatly trimmed) facial hair was his reminder that settling on New Caprica was a mistake. Kara chopped some of the hair off with her knife, Outsiders-style and obviously knows how to do it well, since it looked great in her next scene. Katee looks better with shorter hair anyways.

I love how he's thrown himself into the role. Best recurring character in the series. I don't think he really raised his voice either. That's quality badassery right there.

Funny, but I didn't see Mary as annoying as, say, Dr. Douche or Rob or Kimberly or Sarah. The bickering with Dave is the way they seem to do things, and they never let it get way out of control (like Dr. Douche and Rob). And for a woman who probably never even left her hometown, Mary was pretty open-minded about a lot of things and it was fun to see how she was enjoying the adventure afforded her and Dave by the Race. With that being said, this was about the furthest that they should've gone. The Chos could only carry them so far. I think Intersection would've worked better had this come up earlier in the Race. At this stage of the Race, I wrote "bye, Kentucky" the moment they decided to team up with Alabama. Not a good omen when the two weakest teams are teaming up to complete a task. It's happened three times before: - Team Guido nearly got eliminated after gaining the FF and arriving last in season one (they were saved by a time penalty to another team) - Father and gay son Dennis and Andrew took a FF in season three but were way behind to begin with and were eliminated - Footballers wives Monica and Sheree finished fourth after completing the FF in season four. I'd have to say that the layout of this leg was specifically designed to screw over the FF group because two teams would get the FF and could be supremely overconfident about their placing in this leg (which they were). The Detour was tough, but the Roadblock was a nothing task and were it not for Godwin's taxi driver needing to refuel, the Chos would probably have been second. I thought that that was his normal look?

(5.5) Atlanta at Detroit Cincinnati at Baltimore (3.5) (3.5) Dallas at Washington Green Bay at Buffalo (3.5) Houston at N.Y. Giants (13.5) Kansas City at St. Louis (2.5) Miami at Chicago (13.5) (1.5) New Orleans at Tampa Bay Tennessee at Jacksonville (9.5) (5.5) Minnesota at San Francisco Cleveland at San Diego (12.5) Denver at Pittsburgh (2.5) Indianapolis at New England (3.5) Oakland at Seattle (7.5) Tampa... 13. Ronde probably gets their TD.

The thing is, this is generally the point where it's mostly the "players" that are left, but the bloating of the competitors to 20 gave us 4 more people that weren't really into it. The final 12 look to be gamers, and it should be interesting to see who goes next. On Raro, I think that only Parvati and Nate are safe, and on Aitu, I think that only Ozzy and Jonathan are in danger.

I still hold out hope for Mark Hominick. And we'll see how Jason Macdonald does in his next fight. I enjoyed seeing him choke out Short Fuse... -
I could mention that I posted that on the previous page, but I won't...

The worst though was when Riki Lake hosted it for "Game Show Marathon". She managed to butcher TPiR, Card Sharks, LMAD, Press Your Luck AND Match Game '74.

I think we all knew that she was in cahoots with someone. Being connected to HRG makes sense, and it probably means that they worry about Sylar is genuine. Well, DL and Micah appear to hook up with Hiro and Ando, so Niki is probably gonna tail them all the way to Odessa.
-
And seeing as the overnights showed no significant change from the Studio 60 ratings, it looks like they didn't bother to, despite all the hype over the "special airing".
-
Funny, it sure looked like it was still Prison Break in that slot to me...

Well written? Bob, your SNL column is already 20x better than his best column. For example, in Sunday's column he notes that the Argos are 5-2 without Ricky Williams in the lineup, and 5-6 with him in the lineup. Later he mentions that the Dolphins are 7-20 without Ricky, and 26-18 with him. The point? Well, there is none. He also talks about how Andrew Raycroft ranks 25th in GAA and 28th in Save %. And later he berates Mike O'Connell for trading away Raycroft because they traded away their starter. Again, no real point. McKenzie is a much better TV analyst than he is columnist. You'll have to trust us on that. -
One of them is starting to leave the other in the dust though. Dustin, I think. Kandice looks like she's starting to get more stressed as this goes on. Two possibilities - teams have to work together to complete a task a la Treasure Hunters, or it's some sort of head-to-head to determine a departure time. And two legs in a row where they're shown something and simply told to find it without knowing what or where it is (save for the country). It's like they're trying to make things "hard" for the teams...
