    Worst X-Men Character?

Have you actually READ any of the issues that had Dazzler as an X-Man? Dazzler can turn sound into light, which she can focus into laser beams out of her eyes or fists. Of course, she doens't do that often because it takes all of her energy to convert the light into laser quality lasers..... And in case JasonX didn't make it clear: LASER: Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation So, yeah, she can shoot lasers. Guido's power is kinda lame and generic, but seeing as he's essentially a comedy character, I can't call him "worst" M is a pretty horrible character. You'd think that with the way they write her, her power is to be a snob. My vote is a tie between Maggott and Stacy X. But at least Frank Tieri gave Maggott a meaningful death. Getting rid of Stacy X was another good thing that Chuck Austen did with his run.

It's still not as big as Tito's. His head is a virtual planetoid. Has it's own weather system.

The issue with Rashad, as I see it, is that he's a project with loads of potential. The best comparison the UFC has is probably Josh Koschek. In both cases (and I suppose in Matt Hamill's case as well), you have wrestlers trying to transition to MMA. With Josh, the development has been pretty damn impressive. With Rashad... not as quick, but since he's got a guaranteed contract, they're probably expecting more out of him. Right now he's pretty much a LnP guy who's got some impressive takedown ability, and he could be so much more.

The main event definitely has that "wow" factor, but not because I'm expecting a good fight. It seems like they've almost given up on Rashad, and putting him in with Bonnar - who tries hard to have exciting fights - is a last ditch effort to get him over.

...which shows that just about anyone with a hint of fame has a chance with her. That's both interesting and scary. I just want to see Karo and his judo back, period.

    Box Office Report...

Did the first two even hit that mark? Just curious. Even Whedon's current arc isn't as good as his initial one. I'm pretty much just reading that plus secondary titles New X-Men, Son of M and X-Factor.

I think we need a "sarcasm" button in this forum. I totally missed that. An X-O Manowar movie would be cool. Spider-aliens... not so much. Ugly things.

    X-Men 3

Only a few died in this one and they were mostly worthless. Jean doesn't say she killed him, she imagines herself rising out of the lake and she begs Wolverine to kill her while Wolverine keeps saying, "what happened to Scott?" Wolverine makes the assumation she killed him because Phoenix throws him against a wall hard enough to kill him. Jean can come back since hell, Phoenix is incredibly strong. Cyclops can come back easily as well, you never saw his death and it is just assumed she vaporized him so that one can be wiped out as well. And Xavier is Xavier. Xavier was doing this shit since before Harada was even a force in the Valiant Universe. I know for certain that Xavier has "died" twice. The first time, it turns out that he imparted some psychic abilities on a reformed villain named Changeling (the basis for cartoon Morph, btw) and it was actually Changeling that died. The second time, he was infected or killed by the Brood and the Shi'ar transferred his mind into a cloned body. The golden rule in comics used to be "only Bucky stays dead". Nowadays, that's probably amended to "only Uncle Ben and the Waynes stay dead", so you can pretty much take it to the bank that if they want Xavier back for X4, they'll make it so. As for those "Acolytes" that died, Quill got a bigger part than just about anybody would've expected, I think. Arclight has been cloned so many times it's not funny, and Spike/Marrow was pretty much one of those one-off things. Overall, I enjoyed the movie. It wasn't the greatest movie ever, but Ratner did a good job with the script he was given, and tried to keep things as smooth as possible. Things I liked: - The Callisto/Storm fights were a nice nod to the comics. - Rogue actually getting the cure was a nice twist - The fact that Magneto may not have lost his powers gives them an out for the next movie - Trying to tie Phoenix in with a "real world" explanation. Sure, the whole Phoenix Saga would've been cool, but could you do it in a two-hour movie? No. - No Gambutt. Always a plus in my book. - Fastball special. - The Danger Room. About fricking time. Trek can have a holodeck on the TV show, but it takes three movies to do the Danger Room? Things I didn't like: - Bill Duke (Trask) needed more airtime. - I was hoping for Sentinels with Trask around. - Vinnie Jones could've been better as Juggernaut. - Angel was almost an afterthought in the movie. There was no need for the scene with him at the mansion. - Speaking of which, what was with the SuperFriends-like travel? Alberta by motorcycle? No prob. Angel flying from San Fran to New York? Easy. Probably more that I didn't think of, but it's early.

But it's just another reason why Bisping fucking rules it. You could probably attribute it to Shamrock's "superb" conditioning program as well. Danny's got some good quickness to him. Then again, I don't think I've ever seen a slow TKD specialist.

It's true that you can use the gi as something to grab onto when trying for a choke, but it also makes escape attempts a bit tougher due to... I'm not sure what to call it, a higher friction coefficient is probably the correct scientific term. You can't just slip out because of sweat and/or grease, is what I'm getting at. Disadvantages. Well, if you're a complete novice with a gi on you could probably get it pulled over your head like a hockey sweater. And I'm pretty sure that someone with the proper knowhow would be able to use the gi against you.

    X-Men 3

I read on Newsarama that Spike makes an appearance, but he's from X-Men Evolution. I've heard that Ratner makes liberal use of mutants from Grant Morrison's run (and he created a shitload of them) so that may be where there from. I know that Quill is probably from there. Makes sense. Not every mutant power is an offensive asset. Like, say, Cypher from the New Mutants.

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

And a pearl necklace. Fucking awesome. Who knew Wolfgang Puck could be so evil? Anything but the medley they actually did would've been better. Did anyone have Superstar USA flashbacks when they sang (I've Had) The Time of My Life? Or was I the only one watching that show?

    LOST

He was the American soldier (though his name was Joe in the flashback) who got Sayid to torture another Iraqi soldier. Clancy Brown. Voice of Lex Luthor in the Superman and Justice League animated series'. I was really hoping that his name in the spoilers meant that he was going to be a regular cast member. Then again, we don't know if he actually died from that blow (or do we, I can't remember if Desmond mentioned anything about it before). I think he's dead. Why? Because he's fucking Kurgan, and Desmond's a Scot, like Connor Macleod.
  14. it's not as much that the song is bad as it is "holy hell, is this the same chick?" I think she's always been a bit hippy, but yeah she's a bit wider now. Doesn't help that she's about 5'. Frankly, the new sound isn't that surprising. Her second album got zero airplay in the U.S. (but did well internationally, I think), so a change was in order. She'd done some work with Timbaland before, and rap isn't exactly new to her - she did some in a remixed version of "Get Ur Freak On" - so the somewhere-between-Gwen-Stefani=and-Jewel sound doesn't particularly shock me. As for the show, I only caught WU-onward. I agree about the Falconer - there was so much of a "WTF" aspect to the skit that it managed to overcome the usual level of sucking. Plus the sight of Kenan and Rachel as "identical" Falconers was hilarious.

    American Beauty

I think they're ok with toplessness in general overseas. The main problem, as I see it, is that Keira Knightley doesn't have much in the way of breasts. Cute girl, but rather flat-chested.

    That show is still on?

I think they switched from Americanizing a Japanese show to just making a cruddy American show, but I'm guessing that because it's Disney now, I haven't cared about it since Turbo, maybe before Actually, just browsing around, they are still using Japanese footage. So it's not totally Americanized. I may be wrong, (try as I might, I couldnt sit through an entire episode) but I think on the episode I watched, there were only 3 Power Rangers instead of the traditional 5 or 6, and they took orders from a talking Gerbil and a 6-foot tall Dog. What happened to Alpha and Zordon? I gave up on the show after the machine empire storyline came to a close. The short version: They copied the Japanese model - new actors and a new storyline every season - because it's cheaper than carrying actors over every season. The long version: I can't be bothered to explain it, so go to this site for more info.

Mike Judge must be reaching SOME sort of demographic. I mean, it's essentially Office Space for rednecks, right? It's all relative. Smackdown's ratings make it one of CW's top three shows...

    That show is still on?

While I agree with you in that I think the show is horribly unfunny (save for Stewie), there were enough people who thought otherwise, so it's back, and good on Seth McFarlane, I guess.

    That show is still on?

In hindsight, the fact that Arrested Development stuck around for three seasons despite anemic ratings has to be considered quite the accomplishment. Someone high up at Fox must've really campaigned for the show to keep going. And frankly, I'm grateful. NBC seems to have a history of letting their sitcoms run one or two season too long. Will & Grace, Friends, Seinfeld, Cheers, Night Court, TNBC... all went past their expiry date so NBC could milk every last dime from them.

There's no comparison there... considering how Kelly looked during AI. When all is said and done though, this shouldn't take away from the fact that Kelly has a nice ass.
