    LOST

Not that I recall, but you know it's been done in comics. And Loeb would know about it. If he doesn't, Geoff Johns would probably remind him...

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

Yeah, the crooner guy did an Elvis take on it. Fantasia also sang it as a big band song. Good question. I suppose no The Who since CSI uses three of their songs, and Journey because Randy would have an orgasm.

    LOST

Yeah, well, Jeph Loeb is a supervising producer or something. Jeph Loeb also writes comic books. Comic books had, in the past, used the whole "NOT A DREAM!! NOT A HOAX!!" line before, only to have it retconned in the same book or somewhere down the line. Using this flimsy line of logic, it's still possible that they're swerving us, and it IS a dream/hallucination...

    LOST

Evan Handler. And hey, that show had Jennifer Grey (post nose-job) as Jennifer Grey. And it was so not a ripoff. Just another shitty sitcom. Yeah. Libby being nuts (or formerly so) isn't that big of a surprise - being Chris Titus' gf will do that to you.

"We Will Rock You" would probably get slammed for being a "safe" song. Someone will probably sing "We Are The Champions" and Ace is a likely suspect for that. Taylor or Bucky are well suited for "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". I don't think anyone should sing "Rhapsody" since they'll inevitably cut out the guitar solo which really makes the song. I also don't think anyone will sing "Flash" but who wouldn't enjoy that?

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

Queen songs on singing competitions peaked with Suzie McNeil singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" on Rock Star. On another note, my eviction theory obviously sucks, so back to the drawing board for that. Too bad Mandisa went - I'd have loved it if she sang "Fat Bottomed Girls"...

    The Amazing Race 9

Not exactly. It was a pretty linear leg. They were told to drive to the other side of Sicily, where there was an equalizer that meant nothing since the Bong Squad were the only two there. The Frats pulled ahead of the Hippies, and Rolanda pulled ahead of the Nerds, so the Nerds got Philiminated. Best part was at the beginning, when the Hippies and Frat Boys talked trash about each other during the confessionals, and that the Hippies took the time to create an "entry list" at the supposed bottleneck. BTW, the Hippies were actually a good 1:40 ahead of the Frats, who in turn were 50 minutes ahead of Monica's breasts. And they're probably way ahead of the pack again this time around...

I bet you hang out in Square One or Sherway Gardens all the time, Rudo. But don't sweat it - you'll be hanging around malls plenty after marriage. Trust me on that...

I think he's only Jack Bawoo if he starts firing both in super slo-mo...

    Joe Rogan is a fuckbeast.

You'd think, then, that Snipes would go for a "traditional" martial arts match as opposed to MMA. I don't think Willie Mays Hayes is a big enough idiot to get into a fight inside the Octagon or a ring.

That, and for looking much better then she did last week. Although, Rudo was accurate in his complaints about the lack of boobage. Don't conceal them, Katharine. It was better than last week's outfit though. OK, the ones that normally do well kinda blew, except for Kat, Chris and Elliott (kinda sorta). Kat we're assuming is safe since her fanbase got a scare. The others (Mandisa, Taylor, Paris) probably did poorly enough that their fans will vote more for them, feeling that they're in trouble. So I think that leaves a pool of Chris, Elliott, Ace, Bucky and Kellie. I think that the latter three will be at the bottom, and Ace finally goes home.

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

I'm obligated to watch since I recap the show, but otherwise I'm not sure why they bother with this - country singers sing country, maybe one or two non-country singers go all out with it and everyone else cheats and sings Faith Hill/Diane Warren/Lonestar-type songs...

    Prison Break

Well, both guys were already incarcerated. btw, has anyone see "The Brothers Grimm"? Try to reconcile the image of tough mobster Abruzzi constantly saying "Grimmy"...

    24: Season 5

I dunno guys, I think it was an unneccesary swerve when ol' Hammerhead was the perfect guy for your Evil Leader. Logan turning evil when he's been President Dipshit from the first second doesn't really jibe with me. BTW, if you look back, Keeler might have been acclaimed, so the public may have looked down on the current four-year term regardless...

    LOST

Just so you guys know, The Amazing Race (apparently the top show in the Golden Horseshoe Area) moving to 8pm Wednesday has bumped Lost from that spot on CTV. The bad news is I can't find where it's been bumped to. The good news is that we still get the ABC feed...

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

Have we, though? This past week was current music, so people were free to pick songs within their comfort zone and they all did badly. I still need to work on the theory. However, on Canadian Idol Josh Palmer got the boot in arguably his "home" category, classic rock (speaking of which, why is it that Simon rants on Chris trying to go rock but Canadian Idol embraces stuff like The Guess Who, Classic Rock etc? Is it because of Rock Star?) after a pretty good performance which included him doing a guitar solo. On the flipside, Josh Gracin probably scored top marks singing country when he did an enthusiatic performance of some Garth Brooks song. Again, I'll work on it (maybe) but regardless, I think it's "go big or go home" for Bucky or Kellie. Although Elliott could be severely handicapped by the genre, and Ace... well, it's Ace.

    Survivor Panama- Exile Island

Danielle's your girl, Starvenger ... I didn't want to step on your toes by leering at her. But now that you mentioned her, whoever convinced her to buy that bikini (let alone bring it to the show) deserves a medal of honor or a national holiday or SOMETHING. Danielle is likely safe for a long while, though. Another 2 or all three remaining La Mina members, Shane & Courtney are all more likely targets than Danielle. Hey, leer away. I still do that with Sally. I'm still mystified as to how the bikini/knee socks combo makes her hotter than when she goes bikini only though. But obviously, she does look hotter dressed like that and I did spend way too much time thinking about it... Good points. We've seen Terry play for the "team" up until now, but now that the merge has happened, maybe we're seeing Terry's "Kobe Bryant" side emerge and he's out for himself now.

    Survivor Panama- Exile Island

It's even more surprising seeing as Terry's operated pretty well to this point. And next week, it looks like he'll do something even more moronic than Austin - reveal that he indeed has the Immunity Talisman. Although with a 6-3 advantage, bumping Shane off is a distinct possibility as this group seems to not want to give him $100,000 in order to win $1,000,000. And keep Danielle there too. Especially if they keep having challenges where she's got a good chance of popping out of her buff.

I honestly think he hit his apex when he sang "Father Figure". Maybe he can improve, but he'll have to pull an awesome performance out of his beanie to make me believe it.

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

I beg to differ. Ace has been dead weight since the round of 20, and it's only the fact that he's pretty and Paula treats him like the next Corey Clark that he's still around. I realize that you're just making a statement in general about how Ashlee sucks - and make no mistake, she is horrible - but I'm pretty sure her music career was one of the riders Joe Simpson added to Jessica's recording deal... Here's the thing. It's country week, so the odds of her or Bucky fucking up a country song two weeks in a row are not likely. And we've seen this before - singers do a pretty good job in their "home" musical genre and end up bottom three because voters assume that they'll be safe.

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

LOL. I think Katharine's was included in that because she looked REALLY nervous. Lisa wasn't doing much of anything, so she's no loss in my mind. Ace needs to go next week. okay...this is going to sound way crazy, I'm a conspiracy theory guy sometimes, on a smaller scale anyway, so bear with me...what if Katharine really WASN'T in the bottom 3 according to the real results and tossing her in there was a swerve just to keep the viewers glued to the TV? I mean, sure there's that dialidol, but is there really anyway for us to know exactly how the voting went? Reminds me of when Ruben hit the bottom 3 that time, total bullshit. I'm thinking that it's just a voting anomaly. Remember that the Covais fans would shift their votes elsewhere, and the grandmas of the USA maybe don't like the pretty girl. Lisa's fans I think would more likely shift to a good singer, so Mandisa and/or Kat would probably benefit from it. Since next week is Country, I'm expecting Bucky and/or Kellie to hit the bottom three. Ace will probably escape elimination for another week, but at least next week he's probably not going to be butchering a song I've heard of...

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

Something country. "Real Good Man" I think ... I only saw from Bucky on and they were rushing like a mo-fo. I wasn't impressed with Elliott at all. If his vocal was the best of the night, I'm glad I missed the rest. It was indeed "Real Good Man" by Tim McGraw. Elliott had one of those performances where you either liked or didn't, because it was rather different from the original. Still, he was the only person who actually took a risk with a song. Everyone else kinda said "fuck it, I'll sing whatever I feel like".

    AMERICAN IDOl-SEASON 5: THE THREAD

This being Idol, I'm half expecting her to NOT shake her ass on the show, and that would be a shame. In fact, it should be illegal for Shakira to not shake her ass during her TV appearances. Well, as sung by train it's AC inoffensive. Which doesn't make it good, but seriously, Ace butchered it, brought it back to life, and killed it again. The best part about it was that Paula was searching so hard to save him, she all but threw herself at Ace.
