He must've moved up to "D", since he'd been doing Bills games for quite a while...

Did anyone else enjoy it when they swapped colour guys on HNIC? I thought Hughson and Neale were pretty good on the late game. Least favourite host: Pick any Rogers Sportsnet guy not surnamed Toth Least favourite studio analyst: Don Cherry. At times I'm surprised that Bobby Clarke doesn't hire this idiot to coach the Flyers. Least favourite colour commentator: Joe Theismann. MNF is gonna be painful next year...

He's young, talented and very aware of it. Also some feel his claims about Diego greasing up before their fight are the words of a sore loser. Given that he had lost rather convincingly after not giving Diego any respect prior to the fight, you can kinda see why people might take that the wrong way...

The C4? Sounds like it. Yeah, and if people thought that the Canadian Destroyer required some suspension of disbelief, then I have no idea what they'll make of the C4. It's still fucking cool, though. It definitely wouldn't be a technical classic, but it'd be pretty entertaining.

Here are some reasons why I like the show: - The characters are similar to Seinfeld - you like them because they are by and large unlikeable with a few nice traits. - The narrator, Ron Howard, can get really nasty and sarcastic, as if he shares in the audience's disbelief about the Bluth family. - Rewatchability. Similar to the Simpsons, there are a lot of small jokes that get missed the first time (or are placed there as a "reward" to loyal viewers), larger ones that you always get, and running gags. - Absurdity. The show will go out of it's way to do unbelievable or satirical things, or to set up a joke. For example, "Wee Britain", which is a parody of the Chinatowns and Little Italys we see in large cities, or Tobias' obsession with being an understudy for the Blue Man Group, which led to one of the more infamous quotes that you've undoubtedly seen on the web. I do find, however, that you need to watch a few consecutive episodes to really "get" the show, but the first few eps really felt like the show was trying to carve it's niche and it probably turned off viewers like you. Try some of the second season shows to see what you think of it now.

My guess would be that they do the Hughes-Karo fight as previously planned, with a number one contender match between GSP and Penn on the same card. Either vs Hughes would be a money rematch, and if Karo were to beat Hughes then his stock goes way up as well. Probably the best way to do it would be to go back to the old tournament format or the PFC/Bushido format. I think that they'd have enough quality WWs to do it. The idea is that Shamrock and Ortiz will fight to see who faces Liddell. But they need to build up their LHWs a bit more. Rashad Evans is likely dropping down, so combined with Griffen and Bonnar, they've got three guys that they should be trying to develop into contenders. However I think that they're gonna have to look outside the UFC to get some viable contenders in the interm. I'd love to see Rampage in the octagon, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I was trying to forget that. But thanks for reminding me...

Well, I've improved from last year. Now I'll have to see if I can hit .500...

Don't feel bad. That show might've been great...if they hadn't fucked up every single character. It's not so much that, it's more that they took a little bit of this and a little bit of that from different versions of the character. Oracle is obviously based on the comics. Huntress was, I think, the Earth 2 version - the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. And Black Canary was the post-Crisis version with teen angst thrown in and Becky Kastopolis as the JSA version. So nothing fucked up (or more accurately, incorrect) there. The problem was more that they didn't bother to explain any of this, and expected you to play along. And sure, this approach worked for 'Smallville' (I think), but noone on that show is wearing spandex, and to be honest, I think most people already knew that Clark Kent = Superman. You can't say the same about Helena Wayne, or Dinah Lance or even Barbara Gordon. Add on a running plot that made the show similar to season two of 'Dark Angel' (which sucked compared to the first season) and you've got a show that's doomed to failure.

That look that London and Kendrick debuted last week on webVelocity needs to go. They look like kids with that stuff on. Alternatively, they could add suspenders and become High Energy v2.

I can't say that either, but often that's just been assumption on my part. Since Lita seems to have a "public" history, I'd probably pass on the fucking and see if her reputation as cum guzzling gutter slut (yeah, I know that was actually used for Jeff Garcia's beard) is true instead.
-
Yeah, well, I'm sure we'd all still tap that ass if we had the chance...

Maybe it's some random thing, like Jeff Garcia once hit on Rogan, and GSP kinda looks like Garcia. ...hey, I said it was random. Anyways, Fratboy's scheduled for UFN as well, facing Jorge Rivera.

Thoughts on the Following Fighters II: No Way Out
starvenger replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Sure, if you have it written out like that it sounds lame. But c'mon, Twinkletoes makes Trigg sound like the second coming of Michael Flatley. And KenFlo is just another thing we can blame on Jennifer Lopez and her nice but overrated ass. -

Season 1: Forrest Griffin - Real funny guy, likeable, but I think he's hitting a wall as far as his development goes. Stephan Bonnar - Also very funny, and seems to have real chemistry with Griffin. Tends to leave himself open to submission attempts, which has gotten him in trouble in some of his fights. I guess that he'll be fighting at the next UFN so we'll see if he's gotten any better. Mike Swick - Might be the gem of the LHW fighters from season 1. I don't think he'll be beating down Rich Franklin for the belt or anything, but he's got great hands and could probably make a good living as curtain jerker at the PPVs Chris Leben - Ah, Fratboy. Pretty one-dimensional fighter, but his ground game is getting better and he could conceivably get fed to challenge Ace in a title match. And actually he's fairly likeable when he's not drunk. Nate Quarry - Done like dinner. Josh Koscheck - Like Sherk and Hughes, a scary-good wrestler who seems to be able to take opponents down at will. Had some trouble finishing during TUF, but has gotten better at it. The loss to Drew Fickett probably won't hurt him. Ken-Flo - Second worst nickname in MMA (the first, of course, being Twinkletoes). I could see him being a fairly dominant LW (assuming Pulver stays where he is) but as a WW he'll just get lost in the crowd. Season 2: Joe Stevenson - Good wrestler, seems to think a bit too highly of himself. Taking Luke lightly almost cost him the TUF 2 title. A good addition to the WW ranks. Luke Cummo - Seems to be a pretty good artist, but then even Rob Liefeld can draw boobs. On the fighting side, he can get outmuscled on the ground, but he's got a pretty good defensive game. His advantages are more on the psychological side. The ninja mask, the unibrow, the overall look makes you think that he's not too dangerous, and that's when he can knock you into next week. Reshad Evans - There were heavyweights on the show? I wasn't impressed very much with Rashad's fighting, but his charisma could probably be utilized by Zuffa to help sell tickets. Brad Imes - Seems to fit in with all the giant heavyweights that the UFC has. He's still pretty green, so I think you need to see a few more fights from him to see if he's developing well. Keith Jardine - I've only seen him fight the one time, and it really wasn't that impressive. Melvin Guillard - The Jeremy Horn of TUF? Josh Burkman - Was pretty good in the one fight we saw from him, and I'd like to see him in a couple more fights. -
At this point in time, I'd bet that Trigg would tap out to a RNC if he was fighting a guy with no arms and no legs. I'm pretty sure that describes Mike Tyson as well. But anyways, that leads to the question of who the heel is in the Sanchez/Diaz feud?

I agree with you guys that Randall made the right decision. He simply could've worded it better. And to be honest, if Trump wanted to hire Rebecca right then and there, then he should have, with none of this trying to be cute about it BS. He IS the boss, and Randall shouldn't have had a say in it.

The Amazing Race: Family Edition Thread
starvenger replied to CanadianChris's topic in Television & Film
That's part of the reason, plus CBS has their Amazing Race internet show, 'The Finish Line'. They had the Weavers, Bransens and Linzes - all separately. The Weavers basically claimed the usual "out of context" nonsense, and that they tried to be friendly, but later Alex and Nick Linz noted that the Weavers withdrew more as the Race went on. It seems that they got friendly callers for the Weavers as well, as the Linzes got the "what's up with the feud" questions, but were diplomatic about it. -

Don't knock it - remember that the Linzes figured it out immediately, while the Weavers didn't have a guy who spoke French to translate for them. Loved the final Roadblock. Talk about pressure. Also, after finishes in known cites like Seattle, Chicago, San Francisco and New York, we get a finish in... Lewiston? Was it too much to ask them to drive the extra 10 miles to Buffalo? The best part came after that - Tommy: Noone, because we won the million dollars Nick slaps him upside the head. I should again note that despite being the "nice" team, the Weavers were the only team to contribute nothing to the Schroeders after they lost everything due to Katrina. As for the "nasty" Linzes, they said on the Early Show that half the winnings went to their parents, while the other half (probably about $300,000 at this point) was to be split between all SEVEN siblings. Horrible team, I tells ya. Overall, I have to say, shitty Race, but one of the most deserving winners and a fun final episode. Race 9 should've just wrapped up. Not sure where exactly it started, but I can tell you that -
I guess that's the MMA equivalent to "Nova invented <insert move here>"? Whereas the quote in regards to Nova seems to be a sort of snyde comment regarding Nova's "innovator" status, the saying about Fabiano comes from the fact that though Fabiano (obviously) did not invent the armbar, he utilizes it so often and performs the move so well that it's practically "his" move . Ah, so it's more akin to the ArmDragon joke that Keith and others use for Ricky Steamboat.
