The OaO Raw Thread - 3/30/09

I'm disappointed that they explained away Orton's IED as part of the master plan. I loved the shocked face he would make whenever he did something beyond the pale, and it (marginally) explained why Orton could get away with his behavior. Also, the "Orton cancels Wrestlemania" promo was my favorite part of this fued. -

Vintage Lawler! I'm not dissing Cole. That's probably the most appropriate use of "vintage" Cole has ever managed. -

I haven't seen David Otunga wrestle yet, but apparently he has a lawyer gimmick, including a finisher called "The Closing Argmuent." Awesome. As far as I know, no one has ever done a lawyer gimmick, which seems to be an easy way to get over as a heel. source -

"All I know is that the Raw table used to be at our left. It is no longer there." Grisham is so great. -

Don't sell Grisham short. His work is more subtle, but he still brings it to the table. Striker is the treble; Grisham is the bass. -

The Great Khali make an appearance in the Onion. Sort of. Looking at that figure, I wish he'd bring back the armbands. -

Even coming on the heels of the Sarah Palin debacle, i think this is hilarious. When the MEM decide you might be a good fit for their company, then you have sunk as far as humanly possible. SOURCE -

Does Rourke Being at WM Cheapen "The Wrestler"?
Shelton Benjamin outta f'in nowhere! replied to zappafrank's topic in The WWE Folder
I think Rourke pulling out isn't the worst thing to happen to Wrestlemania. I love a good celebrity match, but a rushed fued between Jericho and Rourke wouldn't be the best use of Jericho. Or Rourke, even. -
Looking at the stats from WWE, eighteen people had zero eliminations and five had one. Three of the the biggest reactions (MVP, Duggan, and RVD) had no eliminations. I think there's enough action in the rumble to go around. You can still advance fueds and make people look goos without them winning or being ironman. I will say, Duggan and RVD had some great offense, but anyone looking at the stats won't see that.

If that's true, then, by all rights, IRS should be part of the group in the next segment. Two words: Hacksaw's Eleven. -

Detailed spoilers from F4W: MVP breaking his losing streak could have been such a big deal, instead of just another chapter in Triple H Gets to Win, Vol. 11. At least with the streak broken, MVP can go back to being awesome for money. Also, I'm disappointed with Victoria's immediate retirement. I'm guessing it's related to the cutbacks, or they would have at least given a week's notice. With Victoria retiring and Maryse injured, Smackdown needs more diva heels, stat. I don't want eight straight weeks of Michelle McCool posing and kicking people in the head. Could Gail Kim conceivably return as a heel? -
