I'll get around to that some other time. It's really dumb.

Yes, both he and Max Mosley are absolutely terrible. They are intent on ruining Formula One. Sepp Blatter's a real bad one. Nearly forgot about him.

Don't worry, you can't kiss ass if I get rid of you now. You're going to win, why not just get it over with. See ya.

Roho vs. Enigma was kinda close. The other match was not. What I've been doing with these later matchups, is looking at the "who posted in this thread?" list and counting the number of people who have posted. Last round there were 48 people who posted in that thread, even though there probably were a few less votes than that. I count votes, and then as soon as one side hit 25 votes, I quit counting. That's why I haven't given exact numbers. Earlier rounds were different. I kept constant tabs with exact numbers (that I have since deleted) so that I didn't have to spend a sizable period of my morning counting votes.

Comedy all throughout.

This last Nitro had two really good matches (and some decent stuff early on), but some things happened here that soured my opinion of the show and eventually turned into downright hatred of it. A.) It's too long. Add 53 minutes of commercial to that and you have the running time as it was then. Now I understand why they blew all sorts of big matches on Nitro. They had to do so in order to keep you sitting through the show for that long. Adding to that, they just fill most of the extra hour with pointless Gene Okerlund interviews, so it's a great thing I'm able to FF. All we ever hear is that the NWO is going to get it someday, blah blah blah, and then the interviewee proceeds to get his ass kicked by the whole group for the next month. B.) Lex vs. Buff angle went well, and then it was blown apart by the finish. Buff being a heel and all, he should have ran away about 30 seconds into the match. Instead the NWO comes out and Lex tosses Buff over the top for the DQ. WHAT.THE.FUCK. C.) Their babyfaces were buried throughout the show via video package. This has continued for months on end. Then they go out there, have a match, and get buried even worse. If they lose, they lose in a way that makes them look like shit. If they win, they get mauled by the NWO. They never get ANYTHING which constitutes as some sort of victory. D.) Bret Hart's debut was such an egofuck for Bischoff that I contemplated turning it off right then and there. Really, the first hour of that show was the only thing resembling competence. Other than Savage/Booker (which was good in that a WCW guy actually put up something of a fight and didn't get screwed in a way that made him look like a loser), the last two hours were a real big chore.

I underrated HHH/Taker when I reviewed that one on my (now deleted) blog. I was so sick of that finish, because I had watched a ton of matches recently which borrowed a similar finish. I had it at ***1/4, but I'd bump it up to ***3/4. Great show.

no, although that match had some sort of build, which is more than you can say for many matches of such throw-away status. no

Those big free agent groups will never materialize because by the time next summer rolls around, even less people are going to be able to afford going to sporting events, and thusly, money dries up, and we've got a whole bunch of players sitting around either getting stiffed on short-term, low money contracts, or they'll be sitting at home with nothing to do. (That sentence was way too long) Maybe a few more players will head to Europe where they can get a few bucks. The house of cards that professional sports in America has built is going to come tumbling down in short order. I'm surprised nobody voted for Goodell. He's taken the pussification of football to new heights, and failed to punish Belichick properly over Spygate because he coaches a team that's popular. The precedents he's set for supposedly violent hits are an absolute joke. You can't even hit a guy anymore without getting into trouble. Before too long, every player's going to have to sidestep the guy with the ball and find a way to arm tackle them rather than leave a small bruise on one of their fingers. Maybe players will start getting suspended for celebrating touchdowns. Roger Goodell. He's a lot like Hitler.

Goldengreek vs. Roho Winner gets kicked out. I'm going to do something silly, but not serious, to the loser

Yeah, I've been doing, uh, stuff recently. I'll get the new thread up in a bit.

It was either Drysdale this time...or my pick, Ralph Kiner. Pic later.

I believe Milan has to come here as well because of the Beckham loan deal. I'll totally be there.

I thought that when you were referencing a specialized sort of missile defense system when referencing MAD. I know about mutually assured destruction. I was confused!

Can you explain please

I never said one word about banning gays from having sex with each other. I said that people find it gross, and that they find the idea of gays sharing affection in public gross. I know that I have been awfully uncomfortable when two gay men have shared a lengthy kiss near to me and in my line of vision. That does have an effect on people's opinions. Given that this is America, they can do what they want, but I also have the ability to say, you know what, I'm really not okay with that. Like the Westboro Church? That would be pretty much the_definition_of fringe. I wasn't focusing on other countries, but rather what we've got here. Those countries you mentioned as ones which invoke the death penalty on homosexuals, are, by and large, African and Middle Eastern countries. I think we know well enough about their track record on human rights and violations against any and all peoples regardless of race, religion, or sexuality. As I said, what has been done to homosexuals just doesn't compare to what has/had been done to blacks. A CNN exit poll stated that 70% of black people polled on voting for the proposition voted yes on it. I take it they agree with me. There is one parallel that doesn't measure in magnitude. The situation is unique and comparing it to something else in my opinion demeans what supporters of gay marriage are trying to accomplish. I'm not one for comparisons in the first place. What I do know, is that civil unions in California are pretty much the same as a marriage. The difference is ridiculously minute. If I had a problem with it or if it intruded on my life, I probably would've started a thread on it long ago, or I would've been one of those douchebags standing in front of the local library holding a sign which had "Yes on 8" written on it.

Maybe. Too early to respond at all. I think it is somewhat of a big deal, as modernizing the Russian military and exerting it's strength seems to priority number one over there. The Ruskies are putting everything into it. Why? Who knows. We simply cannot compete at the moment. We do not have the manpower nor the resources. I am, however, a big believer in the Monroe Doctrine, and believe that it is policy that should be used today. If Russia begins to exert too much influence, we need to put our foot down in some way. This presents quite the problem. When it comes to the missile defense installations, Russia knows they can provide nothing more than defense, and I don't believe we should consider ditching them given this recent run of aggression. In fact we should be more steadfast in maintaining them. Maintaining them would be the proverbial "foot down."

I did not say differently. I only said that the act of two dudes being together is something that most people find gross. And by act, I think it's quite clear what I meant.
-
You said that many homosexuals were murdered because they were homosexuals, and I countered with something that properly fit. What happened to blacks in the past happened because they were black and for that reason only.
-
If you can point out to me a time in history in which this country mass enslaved gays, I'd like to hear it.

I thought I put that in. Guess I didn't. Yes. Considering it is such a divisive issue, that one should be left entirely at home. Marriage as it is right now doesn't pertain to something that needs to be taught in school. Unlike science. Perhaps as it is done with sex education, slips can be sent home and parents can give notification w/r/t whether or not they are okay with their children being taught about marriage as a whole. I've encountered a whole lot of people who say differently. Mileage is definitely varied on that one. I don't think it compares in the least. It is uncommon.

No, that's crap. I think I'll intrude on the religion bashing fest some of you have begun to make this thread into. Given that some of you are preaching tolerance in this thread, it's awfully hypocritical to see some of the things you've said about religion. In doing so, you are no better than those who you claim to be bigoted. You are just the same as they are. I know I'll be the only person to present this side. I'm just looking to say my piece, I don't want to argue about it and trade insults, but I'll talk about it. Just saying. If something is put up for citizens to vote on, people are going to vote based on their personal beliefs. Regardless of what those beliefs may be, people are going to vote based on those. If people believe gay marriage is morally wrong, well, guess what, they're going to vote yes on a proposition banning gay marriage. Politics is about shoving your beliefs on other people. It's really funny that in a current events folder, people are complaining about beliefs being shoved upon them. Some of you mock and laugh at others when things don't go their way, but right here you are shoving your vaginas with sand. People getting stepped on is life, that is current events, that is politics anywhere and everywhere. Duh. If you can't deal with that, fucking tough. Grow thicker skins and man up. Another thing, and I'm not sure whether or not you guys are willing to acknowledge this or not, but most people (yes, even some who voted no on this proposition and even some of you here) find two dudes being with each other gross. You'll find that people who don't find it gross would be lumped into a fringe group. You'll also find that the number of people who don't want gays to be happy are also a fringe group. Hell, nobody cares about them living with one another, fucking one another, or whatever. It's that marriage shit which gets everyone all amped up. Many people don't want their kids to be taught in school that it's okay for two people of the same sex to be married. Most people also have a problem with even the possibility of it being shoved in their face. Something like that is up to the parents and whether they want their children told that or not. Parents have an alarming fear that their kids will grow up and not continue their bloodline. For the most part anyway. I don't know about some of you guys, but my parents, they bug me all the time about having kids. See me, I don't care about gay dudes, because if you live next to them, they take care of their property, they keep the area looking good, and that reflects well on you for living in an area which looks so nice. They help clean it up and are generally very active in making sure the neighborhood stays safe. When I have kids, I don't want them to be told by a stranger that it's okay for them to get married to another boy if they want to. That's my only beef. Well, I also get mad when gays compare their "struggle" to those of blacks and Mexicans. Fucking please.

You two should take your spat off-board. Maybe argue over AIM or something. This is really awkward. I posted that before I saw Czech's post, but still. You guys are continuing to throw barbs at each other over nothing and it's really uncomfortable.
