... If it's a childhood show based on Chris Rock...wouldn't that be a Chris Rock Show? And if the time thing is a problem (too early on Friday Nights), I'm sure UPN won't have a problem moving the programming even more to a lousy time frame, so that's not really an issue. The most safest way to do it...for the next year, run an ECW tour (Heyman's idea). Run LA, Chicago, Philly (maybe), Detriot, etc...the big ECW cities. Do...maybe 5 or 6 shows, PPVs. If they all draw well and stuff, then once Smackdown's contract expires...maybe they can get a deal with USA for more time. But at the same time, they should strike while the iron is hot now that they know (assuming buyrates are above 500,000) and the ECW DVD being one of the most popular wrestling DVDs ever.

Okay. Isn't a CHRIS ROCK SHOW taking the time slot of Smackdown on Thursday Nights? Like THAT will be any better. As far as what's appropriate for UPN. Here's the deal. WWE's got basically a one year contract saying they have to produce a TV show on Friday Nights at 8:00 PM EST starting in the Fall of 2005. And I doubt they can get out of it. So the point of bitching about this is pretty much useless. It's not going to change. So either USA gives them more TV time (which I doubt them doing for the Fall...maybe the Winter of this year, or they just do whatever on UPN.

Assuming that these numbers are accurate and the buyrate ends up in the 600,000-800,000 range... Bye-Bye Smackdown. ECW returns this Fall on UPN on Friday Nights. Bank on it.

There's no fucking way they got PPV buyrates in the next night. It takes at least 2 weeks to get a rough estimate.

Ummm...are we reading the same thing? Those results don't seem bastardized at all...in fact, they just pretty much tell what happen. Seems like a play by play without being obscene, which should be expected...but I don't see how you say its 'bastardized' when it doesn't really censor anything, by saying what heyman said almost word for word about HHH...and about Edge, etc.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's just funny how they say "Because HHH doesn't want to compete on Smackdown." As if HHH could beat JBL in a match. The results sound written for a Junior High kid watching wrestling. I'll give em props for the Matt Freakin Hardy thing, however.

We've got to make a list of everything crazy Joey Styles said. Something to the extent of "This is ECW! Where wrestlers come to wrestle! Not like Monday Nights with all those bodybuilders!"

I think it's safe to say they are already writing JR and Lawler's scripts on RAW. One scripts consists of "ECW show...trainwreck", and "Stone Cold's Court...unforgettable RAW." The other "DIVA Search."

It's the same bullshit logic WWE uses that "People buy Wrestlemania for the main event draw" when in reality they could stick two jobbers in the main event and people would still buy it.

There's no way Vince can kill it now without major backlash from everyone. He just produced a PPV that had fans chanting "Fuck You Smackdown", and a guy with a "WWE Sucks" sign on camera all night. A PPV that had Paul Heyman shooting on all kinds of fucking crazy shit. Like I said...the box has been been opened and everyone who saw this PPV has been exposed. This was not WWE style with Hollywood writers and backstage politics. This was a fucking unbelivable crazy ass show.

I think it's funny it says unforgettable RAW, as if all of them are. As a wrestling fan, I almost need a break for a couple days after just watching tonight. I was drained the fuck out and I wasn't even there.

The funnest part is that many fans I've talked to never got into ECW and this blew them away. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Absoutely. All these WWE marks never knew much about ECW and now, if they saw tonight, just fucking shit their pants. Common wrestling fans who, like you said, never got into ECW becasue they might not have had the opportunity, see tonight and they get blown away. And of course, the fans from the past get what they've wanted for a long time. Certainly amazing.

I'm trying to wonder how they are going to even have people care about RAW tommorow. It's like they opened the box that hasn't been opened for about 5 years. The fact that wrestling can still be the best fucking thing, and it's not bastardized. I keep thinking and saying it, but I just hope they haven't spoiled us too much.

The only thing with continuing it was the stuff Styles/Heyman said just made it seem like this WAS a One Night Stand and nothing more. But again, if this ends up showing as good on the number sheets as it was of a show, things will rapidly change.

That's exactly my point. I just hope they haven't spoiled us. That's all. My faith has been restored because I realize life in pro wrestling is still there. It's just a matter of who lets take place.

$$$ or the possiblity of $$$ is what runs Vince's mind. The fact that the common fan has now been exposed to ECW if they ordered this show (due to the mass advertising/exposure on RAW and SD and the fact that they still did it ECW by not doing obsessively, but enough to get the public intrested and acklowedged that ECW was coming back) and the stir of it happening so far is going to get everyone talking, it's going to change things. I had an open mind going into tonight, and despite a little nitpicks, I came out totally surprised and had my faith restored in whether the company is still good or not. I liked this show so much that I don't even care about seeing Raw that much tommorow. They've spoiled us.

Tonight's show changed the wrestling business. That's a huge statement, but I'm not far off. Give it a few weeks to let it sink in, but what happened tonight will change things forever. If the buyrates come in more than WWE PPVs, then it's REALLY going to change things.

There was so much stuff on this PPV that I'm going to have to truly watch it 5 more times to take in everything that happened tonight. That's all you need to know if you should order the replay or get the Webcast or whatever.

I hope the "Fuck You Smackdown" chant catches on.

This felt like ECW. Period. They totally toned it down for ECW. The long pauses, silence on commentary...this felt like watching ECW, except with nicer equipment. It was as perfect as you can get Edit: I originally thought the movie trailer was for The Marine.

I need to watch this PPV. Like again, and again, and again. This was amazing. So much fucking stuff happened I lost track watching. I don't know the last time I marked out to a show this bad watching live on PPV.
