The Things That Anger You Thread.
Damaramu replied to Man Who Sold The World's topic in General Chat
You know what angers me? The fact every black friend I have can pull off any look he wants, but whitey over here can only pull off like one or two. *grumble* -
I appreciate true MMA and I didn't like this at all. So I guess if you appreciate true MMA you don't *have* to like this season. Then again it could be argued that true MMA is what you see skilled guys like Anderson Silva and Rampage doing. Not a couple of newbies flailing wildly or rolling around doing stuff that would easily get them destroyed by any real vet.

Steve Nash wasn't Hall of Fame material... until he became so. Yeah but Steve Nash seems to spark intense debate when brought up. The other night a guy on ESPN radio was saying Pierce wasn't a top 10 player in the NBA, then he listed his top 6 and he had Nash at like No. 5. Then there's other people that will swear up and down Nash isn't even a top 25 player. I have a feeling Pierce may be heading down that road now.

Ever felt like you just can't get the right job?
Damaramu replied to Damaramu's topic in General Chat
Well I've got a second interview on Friday. I've been told by a lot of people that if you make the second interview you've usually got the job, as long as you don't horribly screw it up. -
Three mercenaries? Pierce was already on the team.

Those bitches at the mall didn't have any Celtics championship stuff. I ordered it off the NBA.com store. I couldn't decide between the Pierce MVP shirt and the Celtics shirt with all the banners, I went with the banner shirt in the end.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
Damaramu replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
I guess the question is, what are his chances? Is this going to be like his normal 185 fights where he completely squashes the guy? Or will he not be able to overcome the weight difference? -
So how does everyone think this team looks next season? I assume the big three all hang around. I also assume Cassell and Brown retire. I hope they hold onto Posey and House though. And I'm still a Tony Allen fan, I hope he grows as a player and gets more time next season.
-
Would the other team forfeit the last game cause the Lakers are too nasty? I guess he said 73-9. Actually, he might've really said 72-9.
-
Someone on ESPN.com, not sure who, said if the Lakers got Bynum back healthy they could go 72-9 next season. That was a little head scratching.

I paid 3.64 a gallon yesterday. I haven't had to pay more than 3.79 yet.

Wow, that was just badass to watch. I called into work to watch this game. I was thinking LA might take it. The paranoia was creeping in since my favorite teams always find a way to blow it (except the red sox) and then they get up that big!? I was laughing the entire time because the score just kept getting more and more absurd. I was waiting for the run to end and it never did. Now I hope that guy is working at Champs tomorrow when I go in to buy my championship shirt. I don't get all the Pierce hate, dude's one of my favorite players. For a while there he was the only player on Boston I could root for (well, i liked delonte west) and he still remains my fav.

Yup, Lakers are fucked. Or the Celtics are fucked because of the shitty officials. Just because they screwed over one team doesn't mean they won't screw a different one over in the interest of extending the series.
-
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/080617 Damn I was right about the paranoia. Here's Simmons talking about not trusting Boston to take it. Then again he also mentions he doesn't trust the Lakers to take it.
-
I never said he wasn't awesome. I just said he hasn't been as big of a force as Pierce and the outcome of the game never really seems to hinge on him taking over like it does on Pierce. Gotta love Screamin' A Smith, keeping his hope for the Lakers alive. Seriously that dude should do all his appearances in a Lakers jersey. I went to Champs sports today to ask if they were going to get Celtics championship shirts and the guy working there was dead serious telling me they weren't going to get them because the Lakers were going to win the series. But I notice (not just from me, but from other things i've read) there seems to be a bit of paranoia creeping in for Boston fans, as if we're all expecting the Lakers to win at this point. I don't know why. We hoped they would take one of the three in LA and they did that. They did exactly what they were supposed to. And with two of their three best playing badly (Pierce and Garnett in game 3 and Allen and Garnett in game 5) they still almost won those games and then they had the huge comeback in LA. I'm trying to bash the paranoia out of my mind right now because all signs point to Boston winning. Maybe I'm just paranoid because I called into work at my temporary job so I could watch this in hopes Boston would win, but if they lose I have to go to work on Thursday because I can't miss another day. So maybe I'm afraid of that!

If there's one thing I don't like about Tiger then it's the way ESPN bows to him. Then again I guess if anyone's earned that treatment on the network then it's him (and probably only him).
-
What an exciting ending. I was rooting for Mediate, but Tiger is just too good. Mediate has balls of steel to go toe to toe with Tiger like that. I bow down to the guy. But, I think I agree with what this guy on my local radio said about Tiger. He's the greatest player at his sport in the history of any sport.

So I've lost a bit of size off my waist in the past few weeks. My trainer gave me a diet plan, oh my god. I don't have the time or the willpower for this. First of all I have to cook nearly every meal(like grilling chicken for lunch) and I'd die of starvation on this diet! It's eating 6 times a day, but it's eating like a half can of green beans and a 5 oz. piece of chicken for dinner. I want to lose some weight, but I don't want to starve in the process. I'm trying the not eating anything white diet. No flour, sugar, white rice, or white bread. I read a theory behind it that said the glutamine(or is it glutamin?) will just make you lazy and turn to sugar in your bloodstream. Plus that stuff is supposed to be full of bad carbs.

I think it was Jon Barry that pointed out that KG and Ray Allen actually played pretty badly and it's going to be tough for them to play that bad again. It was like Pierce and KG playing bad in Game 3. Then again, Pierce and KG played REALLY bad in game 3 whereas KG and Allen played just sort of bad last night. Does anyone get the feeling KG is just along for the ride at this point? He still does some things but, him having a good game doesn't seem to be what affects them winning or losing. It's really Pierce and the roleplayers and possibly Allen that ensure victory. All the hype surrounds KG, but he's just kind of there for me at this point.

Did he screech his tires on the way out of the parking lot too? I hate that. And if he drove by someone he probably stared at them like "Yeah bitch, I'm cool. You're walking and here I am in a big truck with loud music. Know your place." -

Yeah, making good money motivates me, but not so much in the greedy "I want to go out and buy a speed boat iwth this!" kind of way. It's more that I want the money so I can give my soon to be wife a nice home and so I can give my future kids a decent living. My fiancee is an LPN soon to be RN, so she'll be making decent money too. -
Surely the NBA wouldn't pull that bullshit with what's been going on lately. The Celtics will be absolutely jacked Tuesday, flight or no flight. I honestly can't picture them coming out listless like they did tonight. And, I can't picture the Lakers being all that jacked in Boston. If the Celtics do somehow lose this series then this seems to be an even bigger epic fail than the Yankees losing to the Red Sox. At least the Sox were somewhat competitive in two of the three games they lost in that series. The Lakers haven't looked like all that except when Boston really isn't trying all that hard (the end of game 2 and the first quarter tonight) and Boston has looked like the absolute better team in nearly every game and quarter for that matter. If they lose game 6 and 7 then it's just a complete epic collapse and failure.
-
You mean like Sam Cassell grabbing Sasha Vujacic around the waist and THROWING him to the ground without so much as even getting a foul called on him, then making a 3 at the other end of the floor and getting fouled without getting touched? Yeah. If Boston won with that bullshit, it would've been a travesty. That was some nice acting by Vujacic, but Cassell had all ball and was just trying to rip it away. Vujacic is such a bitch. I just really don't see the Lakers winning two in a row in Boston. Pierce took over for the most part tonight and I bet he does it from the start of game 6. Even if they lose game 6 (highly unlikely) then they have game 7 with a jacked crowd and the Lakers trying to grab a third victory in a row. No way the Celtics lose two in a row at home. Plus, the Lakers just really haven't looked good at all this series. When they get a lead they can't hold it at all and they seem unable to guard Paul Pierce. The Celtics look like the better team, even in the loss tonight I thought they looked tougher.
-
I just really can't picture the Lakers winning this series at all at this point. They had a 19 and 14 point lead and still almost lost the game. Of course the Lakers fans are running around and saying "We still believe! It's not over! If anyone can do it Kobe can!" Is Kobe going to hit some magical switch in 6 and 7? He's looked pretty bad up until this point. It's ok to have faith in your team, but looking at it realistically it's pretty obvious this series is over.
-
Wow Celtics. Way to totally not try on defense in that quarter. I guess they want to win it in Boston and they're taking game 5 off. I should've expected as much.
