So if Auburn were to jump OU in both polls but OU were to remain one in computer rankings they'd pretty much hold onto the #2 in the BCS right? Plus there's like a 250-300(something like that) difference between OU and Auburn in the BCS and only like a 200 point difference between OU and USC. Wow this is going to be close.
-
So am I reading this right? If OU goes undefeated are they pretty much in?
-
Not in the hunt? Is that why he was 2 on the ESPN poll and the other big one who's name always escapes me but has many Heisman voters voting on it....he was 1?
-
Actually I probably would too on that one....Baylor beating anyone draws a chuckle. And UTAH IS 6! HA take that Texas fuckers!

Let it be on record, then, and stop posting. When you proclaim yourself a brick wall and then wonder why nobody likes talking to you in these threads, it's time to give up. Because I don't see how I'm wrong and you people can't see how bias you are. How are we the biased ones when you can't even bring yourself to mention another team unless it's to say they aren't good enough to play in the National Championship? You also can't even bring yourself to consider anyone else for the Heisman and even complained about people mentioning other players in another thread. Well Mad Dog if you'd actually read the thread then you'd understand why the hell I said not to mention other players. I created the thread b/c I want to discuss who deserved it between Peterson and White IF one of them were to win it. I wasn't saying that it was going to be one or the other. I was saying that it's become a hot topic of debate on the Sports Radio around here and I wanted to know what everyone thought if it came down to Peterson and White. SO if you read the thread you would understand that that was what the topic was about. Peterson and White. NOT who overall deserved the Heisman. It's become that now but at the beginning when I was trying to keep people on topic that was why. So read the thread and what the topic was originally about before you jump on my case. And the reason I've basically gone "LALALA" is b/c I don't think I'm wrong. I don't think that OU doesn't deserve to be in that game and nothing anybody is saying has been enough to make me change my mind. That's why I'm sticking to my point b/c I think I'm right and you guys are wrong.

Of the QB's that are being considered for the Heisman and let's be realistic White and Leinhart will be the two sitting there in NYC unfortunately Smith won't be. If he was I'd say hand it to him before the ceremony even started. But I can almost bet he won't be a finalist based off who he plays for and the voters being braindead in that regard. If the final four is White, Leinhart, Bush, Peterson then they need to give it to White. He's the best out of those 4 and he deserves it. Yeah White's been helped by Peterson but the point is that even if Peterson wasn't their he'd still do the same thing. Last year while he had bad knees and had no run game to speak of he threw 40 TD's and 5 INT's. This year he has Peterson to take some of the load off. Point is that without Peterson he put up phenomenal numbers. So to say he's only good b/c of Peterson is absurd. Without Peterson he was putting up huge numbers. The only reason he doesn't put up those numbers this year is b/c he can hand the ball off to Peterson. Without Peterson the guy would probably have 40 TDs again!
-
Ummm......I believe all or most of White's 4 TD throws in that game were from outside the red zone and in his own territory. God damn why won't anybody give this guy any credit? I swear to god no matter how good he is he's still given shit. He's the best QB in OU history and maybe the best player in OU history and if he wins another Heisman he's going to go down in college record books. And right now he's the frontrunner for the Heisman as it is.
-
That might be valid if the Sooners had Peterson last year. However, since they didn't, it proves nothing except that the offense depended on White last year, which pretty much everyone already knew. Also, I'd really like to know how Jason White was the deciding factor in the OSU game. Adrian Peterson ran for 249 yards that game. Jason White completed just over half of his passes, and had less yards passing the ball than Peterson did running it. Yeah, White might have made a couple big plays in the 4th quarter, but Peterson was the dominating force that ripped up the OSU defense. Peterson only rushed 1 TD. White threw the rest. They wouldn't have scored enough points to beat OSU if White wasn't out their throwing the ball. Same thing with A&M. They took Peterson out but White stepped up. White is the reason OU is undefeated. Without him they'd be nowhere. You think Paul Thompson could step up like White does when Peterson is neutralized? Don't think so. White deserves the Heisman again this year. His season is just as good and he's more valuable to his team.
-
You can't contain me! You can never contain me!
-
Umm...it's not a lame excuse. Mark May even said this on ESPN that he saw Jason White after those games and he had a cast on his hand and a cast on his foot. So yes he was too injured to play. He should've never been in those games period. But he was and it still baffles me as to why he was. I guess they thought a 30% White was better than a 100% Paul Thompson. White is a good QB. Sorry that you can't accept that fact but it's true. White is also a Heisman trophy QB. He deserved it last year and probably deserves it this year. Sorry but that's true too. And he was #1 in one Heisman Poll last week. The only one he wasn't #1 in was the ESPN one. But since Peterson didn't have a good game it looks like White is moving to #1. It looks like he's going to get it again this year. I doubt anyone except West Coast freaks would vote Leinhart over White.
-
Umm.....yes his throwing hand was broken and so was his foot. And his knees were so bad he couldn't start under center b/c he couldn't take the steps back nor could he escape pressure. He was basically a statue in the back field for those last two games.
-
White proved last year when he was hurting that when teams load up to stop him they still can't! It wasn't until his throwing hand was broken that people were able to stop him. So if they all loaded up to stop him this year I doubt they'd still be able to do it b/c well....he's 100% healthy this year.
-
Then how come their last 5 or so games have been decided by White and not Peterson? Without White they would've lost to OSU and A&M. The only game Peterson won for OU was the Texas game which was White's only bad game.
-
That's bullshit. OU would be nowhere without White. That was proven last year when he went down they went down. White has some of the best numbers and is the most important player on his team. He's one of the best players in the country. You have no clue what you're talking about Mad Dog....you seem to have some kind of hatred for OU and it's players. White will probably either win the Heisman or finish in the Top 2 and he deserves it. Nobody else has done what he's done.
-
Do you have any reasoning for that aside from the fact that you don't like him? If he has no business then neither does Matt Leinhart b/c Jason White is better than him and has better numbers. Jason White's also more important to his team. If you're holding what happened last year against him. Stop. You're being foolish. He had a broken hand, foot, and bad knees. . Of course he wasn't going to play like a demon. This year he's perfectly healthy and is putting up Heisman numbers. He's the frontrunner for the award now that Peterson had 1 bad game. Btw Peterson has a seperated shoulder so don't expect him to put up Heisman numbers against Baylor or the Big XII North champ. Hell not even in the bowl game. The dude's injured.
-
If the North was decent and the teams spent all that time beating on each other then everyone would say the conference sucked b/c there wouldn't be any ranked teams b/c they all beat on each other! And that would give everyone another reason to say OU is undeserving. It's a non-win situation for OU.
-

And on top of that all these people nationally that are saying that OU doesn't belong in the game have been conditioned to hate OU by ESPN and the national media b/c they have some kind of vendetta. Just b/c we're the only team that's consistently good EVERY year ESPN jumps on us at the first chance they get. They spent the first part of the season sucking OU's dick until something more appealing to them came along. Then they got to jump on Auburn's bandwagon and champion the cause for poor ole' Auburn. I'm going to laugh my ass off if Auburn plays close with Alabama and Tennessee and people still go on about how great they are. It'd just prove the bias b/c people jumped on OU when they played two hated enemies close. But when Auburn or USC does it it just shows so much character. If Auburn is close with Alabama hopefully the voters stuff them right back in their place.
-
Yes it would. You're against them igg. That's all there is to it. The Big XII south is tough. The Big XII north sucks. That's all there is to it. OU is hurt by the fact that the north exists. I'm not changing my mind. They're just as good as Auburn and USC. And they deserve to play for the national title. You're talking to a brick wall. My mind is made up and I see nothing wrong with my logic. If you think OU doesn't deserve to be in the title game then you're bias against them.
-
Well first of all A&M lost to Baylor for a reason. B/c they overlooked Baylor. Not b/c Baylor was better. A&M was wanting to get ahold of OU. Second of all I really think that you put OSU and A&M against VT and they would win. Second of all OU trailed for a little bit against KSU and with KSU it's a different story. They always play OU tough and always keep it close. If you don't know that and you're just using KSU's record against them then you aren't thinking about it very clearly and are being moronic. KSU always plays OU close no matter what. Now if OU went into Stanford they would eat them for lunch. Not trail at the half which is what USC did. Hell USC isn't even the best team in their conference. I still think Cal's better. Let them play that game again and I bet Cal takes them out. Fact is USC is only #1 b/c they started the season #1. If they did it correctly OU and Auburn would be 1 and 2 in whichever order you see fit. USC wouldn't even be in the picture. You aren't changing my mind. OU deserves a shot at the national title. And it'll be a travesty if they don't get it.
-
Umm........OU is better than Utah. They would win that game. OU could beat USC and Auburn to. You're obviously bias if you're denying how good they really are. The Big XII North sucks dick. The Big XII south is the toughest division in college fb. OU won the South and are going to win the Big XII. If the North didn't suck so bad the Big XII would be one of the top conference b/c it has 5 Top 25 teams and two of them are Top 10 teams. OU is undefeated because THEY ARE GOOD. They are the #2 team in the country and good enough to be #2. It's complete bullshit that they're in the position to be left out. If they go to the Fiesta Bowl and eat Utah for lunch(which would assuredly happen) and USC or Auburn barely beats the other the voters are going to have to say: What the hell did we do? Because they left out an undefeated OU team. And hopefully the AP voters would see their folly and split the national title. If OU goes undefeated they deserve to be in the national title game. If you don't think so then you're blind.
-
Yet A&M is a really good team and have one of the toughest crowds in the country. And they're better than VT. OSU is also better than VT and that is a heated rivalry and the crowd is really hostile. I won't discount what Auburn did against Tennessee though. Fact is that someone is going to get bounced and OU isn't the one that should get bounced. They play the toughest schedule and are still undefeated through it all. They've fought from behind against good teams. USC has looked less than impressive more times than OU. OU would never trail at the half against freaking Stanford nor would they ever trail against Oregon State. Put USC in the Big XII south. I bet they either lose one or have more close games. Put OU in the Pac 10 and they clean up. It's that simple. The voters are bias and the people on this board are bias. OU deserves a shot at the national title and it's complete bullshit if they don't get it.
-
And I'm tired of arguing with you all about it. Most of you are bias against OU b/c of me anyways and will find any reason to put them down and say they're undeserving. Fact is that they're the #2 team in the country and if they get dropped from #2 then it's a travesty. An undefeated OU should always play for the national title. Hell there's probably people on this board that'd say a 1 loss Auburn team should be in over OU.
-
Yes and USC and Auburn played some of those Top 25 teams at home. OU did them all on the road in front of hostile crowds. OU is #2 and should stay that way. Plain and simple. I think that OU could beat Auburn and USC. And I want to find out and I hope that we are going to find out. The voters are unfairly punishing OU for what happened last year and that's a bunch of crap. If a team like OU, one of the biggest college FB programs in history, is left out of the title game while still being undefeated then there should be big changes b/c it's just not right for an undefeated OU to not have a shot at the national title. Hopefully they remain solid in the computer rankings. And this year's OU team IS better than last years OU team. If they go undefeated that proves it. Last year's OU team was one dimensional on offense. It relied on Jason White. This year's isn't. Sure the defense isn't as good but as a whole they're better and they should play for the national title.

Yes I think Smith is most deserving of the QBs. But since he won't win it the next best QB in line is Jason White. Leinhart isn't close.
