I'm the New Ask411 Movie Guy

Everyone read Mr. G's questions of perfect examples of what I don't want. I thank him for giving this precious example, he is a smart man. I always pictured you as a cross between Godzilla and Tiny Lister.

I'm the New Ask411 Movie Guy

I recently applied at 411Mania.com to be the Q&A guy for the movie section. I was just accepted today and instructed to put together an introductory column to be ready by the beginning of next week. I was told I could just concoct some test questions, but I figure it would be best to see if I could drum up some from people here. Keep in mind that this is NOT trivia with the aim of stumping me. These should be questions that you genuinely don't know the answer to or topics you would like to know more about. I figue most questions will be of the vein of who's that guy, what was this movie and general info on movie making and movie history. Simply post your questions in this thread and I'll try to answer the ones I think would fit best for my first column. I will not be answering questions in this thread or responding personally. Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks.

No, ulf, that's cool. Saves me from doing some research. Also, I've seen Brainsmasher and that is an excellent question I'll cover in my first column. Thank you to everyone who has posted questions so far. They've all been pretty good and kind of what I was looking for.

In classic Hollywood movies, babies came from a room with two swinging doors while men paced in the waiting and smoked cigarettes. Wayne and Eastwood have never made a movie together. Your other questions will most likely make my column.

I'm the New Ask411 Movie Guy

Ok, I’ll toss you a serious answer then. Looking at only the primary Bond girls for each film and examining their characters, there are only a few with real fighting experience. Bond girls are meant to be hot pieces of ass, not to kick ass. Chief among the legitimate fighters would be CIA operative Jinx from Die Another Day played by Halley Berry and Chinese agent Wai Lin from Tomorrow Never Dies played by Michelle Yeoh. As They Call Me Bruce has taught me, knowing martial arts or pretending to know martial arts trumps everything. The first girl down (and not in the sense you’re thinking) would probably be Maryam D’Abo as Kara Milovy from The Living Daylights. She was a cellist for crying out loud. Smacking someone with a musical instrument only works for Jeff Jarrett. The first girl down (in the sense you’re thinking) would be Jill St. John in Diamonds are Forever. I love redheads as long as cuffs and collars match. Thanks King, that answer will be in my column And Duran, that is an awesome question. Thanks.

I'm the New Ask411 Movie Guy

Eagan: Your first question was a good one, and a I have an answer for you. It's slated for release in the spring of 2004. No word on exact release date or what extras will be on it. Your second questions seems best suited for the new Ask411 gamers column and I don't think I will include it. Thanks again.

I'm the New Ask411 Movie Guy

The questions don't have to fit the criteria I listed above. Those are just what I figured that most of them would be like. I do however, want to steer clear of spoiling films or telling people what happens in movies or simply just giving my opinion on matters. However, a specific question like yours that I could basic on some factual info is ok. Thanks for helping though.

    Character Actor Gordon Jump Dies

From Yahoo By LYNN ELBER, AP Television Writer LOS ANGELES - Gordon Jump, who played a befuddled radio station manager on the sitcom "WKRP in Cincinnati" and made his mark in commercials as the lonely Maytag repairman, died Monday. He was 71. Jump suffered from pulmonary fibrosis, said his cousin, Katherine Jump Wagner. The illness causes scarring of the air sacs of the lungs, leading to heart or respiratory failure. Wagner, of Arcanum, Ohio, said she learned of her cousin's death from her father, also named Gordon Jump. Her cousin was under hospice care at his home southeast of Los Angeles, she said. Jump played Arthur Carlson in "WKRP in Cincinnati," which aired on CBS from 1978-82 and featured Gary Sandy, Loni Anderson (news), Tim Reid, Howard Hesseman and Richard Sanders as the ragtag station's crew. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Jump began his career working at radio and TV stations in the Midwest. He worked behind the microphone and the camera, including jobs as a producer for Kansas and Ohio stations. Jump portrayed the Maytag repairman "Ol' Lonely," a well-recognized advertising symbol, from 1989 until he retired from the role in July and another actor took over. "Gordon was an incredibly talented actor and a remarkable human being," said Ralph Hake, chairman and chief executive officer of Maytag Corp. Jump came to appreciate the attention he got for the ad campaign and the steady work it provided, Wagner said. But his heart was elsewhere professionally. "What he loved more than anything was doing theater. He was a marvelous actor," she said, recalling a visit to Florida to watch him perform in "Norman, Is That You?" Jump began his Hollywood career after moving to Los Angeles in 1963, appearing on series including "Daniel Boone," "Get Smart" and "The Partridge Family." His dramatic roles included a part in the TV movie "Ruby and Oswald," about the assassination of President Kennedy, and "Conquest of the Planet of the Apes." Jump is survived by his wife, four daughters and a son, Maytag said in a statement. He also had a brother, Wagner said.

    Need Your Help!

They're having another posters tournament. I'm in it again and look to have a good lead on Your Paragon of Virtue in the first round. But the guy's a twat sac and I must crush his bones to paste and then let Mr. Galeata finger paint with it. Vote here. If you don't know who to vote for, just copy and paste my ballot, but mine was pretty random. Thank you for your support. Please note that the only other loosely associated SWF people are T-Bone and Flik. You want those guys to advance and not me?

    SWF Smarkdown Card 9-22--2003

I wasn't serious Wildchild, but after that post I wish I would have. But if I can't get the drive and time to write as Frost, I'm not malicious enough to write as Xero just to make you look stupid when I can't handle my own character. Now, Kibagami on the other hand....

The 3rd Annual SWF Awards Nominations

I think the SJL Best European Champion of the year award should be named after me. You got awards named after everybody else and nobody loved that belt more than me. I jobbed the World to a girl just so I could keep the Euro. That's dedication.

SJL Countdown To Genesis Card, 9-28

Let me note that you do not need to write 8000 words to win. You can write a standard 4000 and still pull out the win. It's quality, not quantity and don't feel like you have to write 8000 as many matches on the SWF side of things won't be that long. And to Manson and Spike: I'm tired of messing with you guys. One minute past 6 p.m. and your auto jobbed due to time limit dq.

    Abby in WCW?

The Boogie Woogie Man was Jimmy Valiant and neither he nor Abdullah was in the WCW in 2000. Both men were working the independents still at that time and still are today. I believe Abdullah was wrestling exclusively in Japan during this period.

    Abby in WCW?

The other guy was George Steele. And no, Abdullah was never in WCW in 2000 to my knowledge, not even as a one shot. I would say to post where you read that and all the details.

    Genesis Request

Thank you King. In thinking on it the past few minutes, there are actually a few things I can do in a promo for Gensis that would fit with some ideas I've had. I've been wanting to do promos updating Frost's time in Japan and Genesis sounds like a really good time to do the first one.

Quick question about WWF PPV theme songs?

I think Easy Lover was just on there and I actually remember them using the instrumental version of it a lot back in the day. The WWE hyping songs as official themes and pushing them that way is most likely a more recent phenomenon.

    Genesis Request

I do NOT want Frost at Genesis in any way, shape or form. If I ever do return, his clean break from the SWF and his tour of Japan will be key. Feel free to have the Memphis Eel running around like an idiot though.

Quick question about WWF PPV theme songs?

I have Wrestlemania 2 on tape and "Easy Lover" by Phil Collins plays over the beginning and ending credits.
