Despite the overall "eh" schedule, the usually dire noon games probably have their best pair of the year in Michigan/Wisconsin and Wake/Clemson. Also, I'm gonna say that my Hoos change things up this week and win by 2 instead of by 1.

I know you're an Ohio State guy, but that's kind of a silly thing to say, particularly in this season of all seasons. Upsets both major and minor happen every week. Overall, Michigan almost certainly doesn't have the better team than Ohio State in terms of statistics, balance, etc., but they only need to be better for about 3 hours on one Saturday afternoon to win that single game.

Since he has Michigan winning the Big Ten at 10-2, it's clearly them.

I'm getting a bit tired of counting SEC conference games any more highly than anybody else's conference games. Top to bottom, yeah, the SEC is probably the strongest conference right now, but the lustre is coming off a lot of those "special" LSU wins. "Ranked" South Carolina is now inconsistent 6-4 South Carolina on a 3-game losing streak. Alabama is a good team with just one really impressive win. Beating LSU was great, but Kentucky also lost to that okay South Carolina team and got worked by Mississippi State. Florida hasn't justified their exceptionally high ranking, and while a very dangerous team, are still sitting 4-5 spots higher than they probably would be any other year based on last year's championship. These are still good teams, but I wouldn't say that beating any of them is significantly more impressive than beating Wake Forest, Cal, Penn State, or South Florida. That said, beating just about all of them is still a pretty good achievement, and wrecking Virginia Tech's shit was ruthless. I would still have LSU a smidge ahead of Oregon, even though I think Oregon over ASU is probably stronger than any LSU win at the moment.

Played it this weekend for the first time, and it was absurdly fun. Should I go for the 360 or Wii version? I played the 360 one, but imagine they're pretty much the same.

Hooray, I win, unless Oregon chokes, and probably even then. Thanks, Fokai!

Perfect. The inevitable season-ending loss to Georgia should shore up another year of 5-loss Chan Gailey Equilibrium. He's like a shittier Tom O'Brien at BC.

Damn you and your internet outage, Verizon. For the record, I would have picked VT. Now I'm rooting for GT so it doesn't matter! THURSDAY I suck FRIDAY Nevada SATURDAY Ohio State Iowa Virginia Notre Dame Michigan Texas South Florida LSU Missouri Oregon Rutgers Arkansas Tiebreak #1: How many total points will be scored in the Arizona State/Oregon game? 58 Tiebreak #2: How many receiving yards will Alabama's D.J. Hall have against LSU? 89

There's something about this combination that's utterly macabre.

U2, which lasted well through even the first year or so of college. I didn't get into music much at all until maybe 8th or 9th grade.

Actually, that's one of the reasons I'm always skeptical about Phoenix. Spurs and Dallas have a lot more supporting parts to keep them in strong playoff positions should Duncan or Parker go down for any length of time, even if a lot of those parts are getting pretty old.

Yeah, it's probably the hope that Yao and McGrady play more than half the games together. I'm not too keen on a team that needs an injury-free season to be considered a contender.

fucked around and got a triple double* *almost

Did you guys get the short before the movie? I'd watched it on iTunes a week previous so I didn't mind not seeing it, but apparently everyone's getting it now. I really liked this too.

Isn't Choice's (very good) backup out too? Third-string against Ellis and co. might not get the job done. I see the spread, but I more or less consider games that are +/- a field goal or less to be pick'em. Having watched a fair amount of both teams this season, I expect a reasonably ugly 20-14 type defensive game.

You guys ever play Realms of the Haunting? Mid-late 90s, I think, adventure FPS that was creepy as hell. That was good'un.

I think you overstate what you need, actually. I interpret what you said as pointing out that Virginia needs to lose out, but they only need to lose 2. The easiest situation for GT is to win out and have a 4-way tie at 5-3. The ACC multi-team tiebreaker is record among the tied teams. Virginia losing 4 conference games would make it cleaner, but the key is for Virginia to lose to both VT and Miami. You'd have: GT, 2-1 (W: VT, Miami, L: UVA) VT or Miami at 2-1, depending on who wins their matchup VT or Miami at 1-2, depending on who wins their matchup UVA at 1-2 (W: GT, L: Miami, VT) Virginia is eliminated, and GT holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over both Miami and VT regardless of who's at 2-1. Certainly doable, but I expect GT to fall short of their goal as soon as this Thursday, backs against the wall or not. I'm rooting for them, but I don't think VT has hit a freefall yet.

I think HRG's shooting of a defenseless man last night probably sealed his fate. Dude's gonna have to atone big time for his extreme parenting issues. Pictures 3 and 4 look related.

I used to hold out hope that it would get me into bands I didn't know about by comparing me against similar users, but it just kept recommending The Bravery.

Probably the most boring episode of the show I can recall. Really stalled a lot of the momentum from last week. Also, can we get Hiro out of feudal Japan already? It's terrible.

This was not as fun as previous Saws, because the creators actually (foolishly) applied some modicum of restraint, and because they made a poorly executed attempt at craft with the whole "ohhhhh tricky chronology" business. I did like all the shots of Jigsaw's floppy dead penis, though.

Awesome. Guys, I think we should all get together and start a DIII football team. We can probably handle it.

Go to si.com now if you want to see a great picture of Curt Schilling looking like a curmudgeonly grandpa.

It's stupid, but I'm cool with that.
