Haha, awesome ending for the Redskins. Talk about instant redemption for Nick Novak. Bill Parcells is going to shit on someone's head.

There will be about 280 of them within 8 miles of me. I don't think I'm going to buy one, but that's pretty amusing.

Oh god, this is terrible. I only have a Fox game at 1, and it's Cowboys/Redskins. And I only have a CBS game at 4, and it's Broncos/Steelers. It's just fucking infomercials now where I'd usually have Ravens/whoever. This makes me not want to watch football today.

Florida's defense is top-notch. Only Tennessee's offense has put up 20 on them all season (half of Auburn's 27 came on a fumble return and a blocked punt). It's very fortunate that they have such a great defense, because their offense is a weird jumble of unmatched parts. Every game they seemed poised to explode, but it just doesn't line up right. They get huge moments out of Tebow, Leak, Caldwell, etc., but they're pretty sporadic and don't have a steady running game. Hence the awkward wins over inferior competition recently. I still think they're one of the best teams playing right now, because they have wins over both Tennessee and LSU. As far as wins over top programs go, those are pretty much unmatched by almost every team out there but Auburn (who tagged UF and LSU). Still, you're absolutely right--many of Louisville's opponents (and opponents to be, namely Rutgers) have turned out to be much better than they looked initially. Similarly, some of Florida's ballyhooed opponents, like FSU, Georgia, and Alabama, are underperforming. Really, the team that has the chance to be the most impressive 1-loss SEC squad is unquestionably Arkansas. If they win out, they'll have demolished Auburn and beaten LSU, Tennessee, and UF, with their only loss coming to USC in the first game of the year. I don't think a 12-1 team with that kind of a resume could be denied. That's a ton of ifs, though, so I don't think they're really going to get there.

If you just pay your bills and don't spend too much it's not that hard. I got up to something like a $5500 limit in a year on the one card I have. If you run into a rough patch, of course, that can f you in the a.

So OU came through with a big win in College Station without AD. Of course it was close and ESPN doesn't care now that AD is out for the year so no one will notice, but OU is definitely a top 15 team now. They have wins over A&M and Missouri which is more than most teams can say. I don't know if the poll voters are bias or anything but they really need to open their eyes and see good OU is this year since they've had so many injuries and gotten screwed. OU is a top 15, maybe top 10 team when you think about the Oregon screwjob. Wouldn't it be hilarious of Texas last the last two games and OU ended up playing Nebraska for the title? Of course we still probably wouldn't hear anything about how OU really has one loss and should be in the title game hunt, but at least everyone who saw that game would know it. Anyway I'm proud of the guys and think they can win out. Maybe we can start calling Allan Patrick AP since he's taking over so well for AD. OU is gonna be running back U!

If Kara were a Cylon there'd have been no reason for them to have her on the breeding farm. I don't think any more members of the fleet are Cylons, definitely not any of our main characters.

Even though there are too many bowls, I love seeing endless bowl matchups. I care less about there being a playoff/whatever, probably because my team never sniffs the top anyway. I was ready to believe in Arkansas a bit more tonight, but they got one fluke TD on a pre-halftime hail mary and still let South Carolina hang around almost exactly the same way that Auburn and Tennessee did. Still, they did look really good running the ball. I'm not sure how I feel about a team that's unsure of its QB, though, and the Casey Dick or Mitch Mustain question might give them trouble at some point. The field's thinning out though, and they're still winning, so they're certainly up there. Speaking of South Carolina, they've played close against everybody lately and looked pretty good. Were they not in the unfortunate position of having to play four likely 10-win teams, they'd probably have a nice 8 or 9-win season going.

Bet Spiff jumps me. I gained picks on most of the top guys except for him, and he had a tiebreak win.

All 300 or so of the Wake students storm the field! I can't believe Wake Forest is 8-1.

He's on a really popular TV show and is ironically idolized by college students for his goofy-ass role in Harold and Kumar. I don't think he's playing the "gay card." Kind of a dumb thought.

Colt McCoy's great. I know he's got a hell of a line blocking for him, but wow, little dude just rifles stuff in there.

And the Kotzenjunge suicide watch is on as we enter the waning seconds of one of the year's best games. Badassery all around.
-
Woo, an early win. With me already having 3/6 vs. 0/6 differing picks and Tennessee's last touchdown, I get the 4th and decisive point if they hold on. Or, I at least win by tiebreaker since LSU has to bring total points to over 34 if they're gonna win. Leeeeeean back.

Kentucky goes up 24-20 on Georgia with 1 minute to go. If Kentucky hangs on, they only have to beat Vandy or UL Monroe to get a bowl game. 7 wins within reach? Astonishing!

Michigan probably wasn't playing their best, especially when they were up by two scores late. I think Ohio State's receivers will obviously do well, but today's game doesn't mean 2 TDs and 200 yards apiece or anything. Still, it shows why you can't always assume a clear run to the end of the year. Matt Flynn is in for Jamarcus Russell. One of the best college back-ups in the country, really. I wonder how long UT will stick with Ainge today.

Welcome Maryland to the top 25, as they knock off Clemson on the road with a last-second field goal to get to a very, very surprising 7-2.
-
Good on Northwestern. Iowa is nowhere near good enough to deserve a New Year's bowl game this year.

Someone's got the mics too close to the field in the FSU/UVA game, because I keep hearing people shouting "fuck! fuck man, fuck!" Gotta love Lincoln Financial production values.

I don't get why you'd get a credit card with only a $300 limit. Why not just use a debit card for something that small?

Hilarious and shitty, just like the other two, but still fun. I love shitty horror movie matinees. The naked woman getting tortured to death with the freezing water was a bit much, though, especially with the camera leering at her the whole time. Her abuse was the only time any of these movies has actually made me uncomfortable; everything else is just goofy.

Since it goes on 3 months of hiatus after the upcoming episode, I'll watch that, I guess. Last chance to keep me hooked. From what I've read, though, it's just more love triangle bullshit, so I'm pretty sure I'll be checking out afterward. Maybe I'll keep up with the one-page recaplets they do at Television Without Pity to see if the ship's getting righted anywhere down the line. By the time Lost comes back, both 24 and The Shield will be in full swing and I'll be plenty happy with those.

Yeah. He was all "the sub's back, we have a situation." He may have meant a substitute teacher, however, or a magical island sandwich.

Well, after tonight's performance and very good win, I think I'd be happy with Louisville at #3. Their weaknesses are no different than those of a Texas team that gave up over 300 yards passing to Baylor and spotted Texas Tech 21 points. With solid victories over Nebraska and Oklahoma, Texas has a slightly better resume, but probably not enough to account for one loss. Florida and Auburn have been too inconsistent on offense, particularly Florida, who's still struggling to break open their scoring without a standard running game. I was extremely impressed by Petrino's playcalling tonight, especially his decision to continually go for the kill and never let up on the passing game. Brohm played his best game of the season and can lead these guys through the rest of the season handily if he keeps it up. Rutgers next week should be another cool Thursday night game.

If you're running Firefox on a Mac like I am, you can get customized builds for G4, G5, and Intel processors at beatnikpad.com. They speed up Firefox tremendously. I'm also loving the updated Tab Mix Plus extension, which lets you do pretty much anything you want to the tabs, both technically and visually. The extension that combines you stop and reload buttons to save address bar space is another goodie.
