Fucking Joe Buck invading Lost.

Single-engine planes often use fuel that's light blue in color, so maybe an irate fan broke into his hangar and replaced it all with Windex. Or blue gatorade. Masked Man of Mystery, I've solved the case.
-
Hey, my dad has a plane like that. Cirrus SR-20. Dad's is a 22. Another one went down east of NYC earlier this year, but that guy deployed the parachute (pretty much every Cirrus has an actual parachute for the whole plane built into the top). Really fun to fly in one. Also, Bob wins the thread.

It's far and away the best of the new shows I've seen. Send it to a less brutal time slot.

Thirded. And the album is cheap as hell too, like $11-12 cheap.

I need this as my sig. Did someone just respond to his own gimmick to sell the joke, but forget to switch off the gimmick account? -
No way... we love it! Trojan Football is LA's top sporting attraction. Saturday night games are a staple of college football season. Of course, this is coming from a bona fide Trojan himself! As for Florida, I think both Michigan and USC have better claims to the #2 spot than the Gators do. The schedules of the Wolverines and the Trojans are much tougher overall than Florida's schedule. I'm not really sure that I buy that. Arkansas is a much different (and far better team) now than they were in the opener. Which is not to say that I'd discount the win or anything. The Pac 10 looks like it's full of good-but-not-great teams (both Washington schools fit that bill) and right now I don't think anyone in the country has as good a resume as Tennessee/LSU/Alabama. Plus, having watched all three teams, Florida's just executing a lot better than USC right now. More balance all around. I'd have USC at #3 or #4 and USC or Michigan may develop to be better than Florida by the end of the season, but I think the Gators are a step above them now. Does anyone think Ohio State isn't #1 right now? I think I could make a strong pro-Gators argument, but overall OSU still seems to be operating more crisply and confidently than anyone in an extremely balanced system.

I'm seeing TVOTR/Grizzly Bear on Sunday. Spine-tingling goodness. I've already seen Grizzly Bear, actually, as they opened up for the Books when I saw them in March. And I've already seen TVOTR too, when they opened up for the Pixies a couple years ago. Both were really good, so I have high expectations for this one.

I'm down with Rutgers. I watched them play Illinois and USF, and while the former sucks and the latter is just okay, Rutgers played like a complete team. I don't see them winning the Big East but I expect 8 wins out of them at this point.

My favorite mash-ups come pretty exclusively from Go Home Productions. "Sexual High"--"Sexual Healing" and "High and Dry"--is the best one I've ever heard.

I was Scott Petersen last year and had a friend dress up as Laci. Once I was a partial-birth abortion. A couple of years ago, I posted some pictures of my friend's 9/11 costume, which I think was met with some scorn.

Leoben's manipulation of Starbuck is brilliant. How do you manipulate a woman who was abused as a child? Turn her into the abuser. Though I think Kara's a little too smart for that, and is playing him right back. I'm also wondering why there aren't any Leobens amongst the top-level cylons. He's conspicuous by his absence, since even Simon's there.

But the wheels are definitely coming off now. It should be 20-3, but the FG holder fumbled the snap and Clemson ran it back for a touchdown. And Clemson just recovered a fumble in Wake territory. Poor little Deacons.

EXCEPT ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND LET THE WIND BLOW BACK YOUR HAAAAAIR is almost as good as the exit from the bridge in "Born to Run." And yes, snuffy, that is a little weird. I always kinda chuckle at both that and the "you ain't a beauty, but hey, you're all right" line.
-
Wake's up 17-3, and that's despite making several mistakes of their own. Clemson's really fortunate to be down only two scores at this point. Now we'll get to see if they're good enough to turn it on late, or if this is really just another heartbreaking Tommy Bowden team. Edit: Turnover #4 for Clemson, an INT off a tipped ball. Ouch.

It just bothers me that the show has drifted from being a story about its characters to being a story about riddles. I would think you'd notice that even more watching all the episodes quickly on DVD.

Holy shit. I'm so glad this show is back. And amazed at the balls on the creative team.

There's actually a Killers' song called "The Boning Song"? Dare I ask for lyrics?
-
Sure, especially out of context. It works much better in the overblown, hammy Jersey poet feel of that song and the album as a whole. But even given that, I'm not listening to the song for that line or any lyric in particular so much as I am for the overblown epic quality of it all, and the fact that the transition out of the bridge with its 8 billion instruments still makes me wanna pump my fist.
-
It's great. I listened to this a ton earlier this year, and am still a bit miffed that I missed my chance to see them live. I like it much more than Sung Tongs; the arrangements are fuller and feel more like experimental songs than experiments masquerading as songs. Sung Tongs often feels like a bit of a chore to get through, but I always like Feels.

I'm with you on the ills of the Springsteen cultural construct, but can't back you up on this one. Great, great song. Indulgent? Sure. But rarely do you find a song that matches up the tensions between being dead-broke and hopeful as well as this one. I don't really like Springsteen all that much either, but love just about that whole album. It can sound prophetically dumb when you realize that this same wide-eyed enthusiasm led to drizzling shit like The Rising, but take it out of that context and I find "Born to Run" really hard not to like.

Despite two losses to so-so opponents, NC State is 2-0 and the only team in the Atlantic division besides Maryland without a conference loss. Hilarious.

Same exact problem, Bruiser. Been looking for that one for a while.
