  1. EVERY TIME I WANT A TEAM TO WIN, THEY LOSE ALDKSJFSDLKJ
  2. asldkfnas;dlkfjs;ladkfj;sladkjf FUCK!!!
  3. God dammit, I need to get to bed but there's NO fucking chance. Midterm studying can wait.
  4. Mussina was already in.
  5. Nope. I'm a de facto Sox fan because of the potential benefits that are my Con law professor grading tests and papers tonight. Also, I just think it's awesome that the two "curse" teams got so far, and I can't stand the Yankees after being an Orioles fan for a long time.
  6. Timlin's a choke artist, regardless of his reputation this postseason. Go Wakefield.
  7. Man, if the Sox win the series, I'm GUARANTEED an "A" on my Con Law paper... fucking Christ. Why are the Sox taking out all their hitters for pinch runners? Is there some amazing depth on their bench that I haven't heard about?
  8. 9/10, not too difficult. I f'd up the "which is the biggest" one because I didn't feel like doing all of the math shorthand (I wasn't using a calculator). Ah well, I'm a low A student anyway, so this is fairly accurate . WOO I PASSED 8TH GRADE.
  9. Can be, but in many cases, it's used in a "dirty politics" context. Debating the merits of your stances is far more difficult than blandly declaring someone else "unpatriotic" for their stance.
  10. So, you're saying that this is something we did to help the U.N., and not to curb the growing dissent at home over the prospect of our troops being firmly implanted in Iraq for the next decade?
  11. Sorry, hit post too quickly. But couldn't he fire back with a claim that "risking more American lives is more unpatriotic" or some other such remark? The point is that the claim is completely unsubstantiated... on an issue like the war, at least. Who is Tom DeLay (or anyone) to say that someone doesn't love their country just because they don't support a unilateral war? Whether you want to admit it or not, questioning patriotism is dirty politics.
  12. Fair enough, like I said, I don't live in Georgia and I hardly follow their politics.
  13. Actually, I didn't say any of that. It's more of the U.N. ignoring the fact that we thumbed our nose at them and realizing that we need help in Iraq to ensure the stability of the region and the tranquility of the nation. I'm rather happy that the U.N. realized that they should put their egos aside for a moment and just do what's right, even if we didn't to begin with.
  14. I believe -- correct me if I'm mistaken, because again, I don't follow Georgia politics -- the issue was less of Union pandering than it was of his lack of support for the war. Regardless of your feelings on the war -- and we know your stance on it -- you can't call someone unpatriotic for wanting multilateral support for that campaign. Well, you can, but you'd be wrong... Sure, if he was doing some immense disservice to our country through the issues and being an obvious traitor in pandering to special interests over the interests of our nation, I'd agree. That's a valid issue of patriotism, and I think we have a lot of members of Congress who need to look at themselves in the mirror about that. However, in this case, I think it's hardly warranted that Cleland could be considered unpatriotic.
  15. No, and I didn't call him an "uber-patriot" either. However, the sheer fact that he lost his fucking legs in the war makes him far from unpatriotic.
  16. That's precisely my point. He absolutely SHOULD have been challenged on the issues, not on some bullshit accusation of him being "unpatriotic". I laugh my ass off at everyone's hypocrisy who defends Arnold against the "dirty politics" but defends the usage of them in this and other races.
  17. Bush was in the Guard, I think, never went AWOL, and was honorably discharged. I love that Bush's service is fair game --- but mentioning what Clinton did to avoid service was just dredging up ancient history. -=Mike ...Don't worry, Tyler, I'll eventually ask you to explain how Dean can be a legitimate leader for the country when his economic policies are amongst the worst I've ever seen Wrong, Mike. http://www.boston.com/news/politics/campai...ard_duty+.shtml http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?p...5&notFound=true http://www.awolbush.com/newrephtml.html http://www.globe.com/news/politics/campaig...tary_gaps.shtml http://www.augustachronicle.com/stories/05..._046-7650.shtml
  18. Why can't you? Just because you served doesn't make you a patriot. Lee Harvey Oswald served in the military. Timothy McVeigh served in the military. Do you describe either of them as patriots? Heck, Wesley Clark is an inept buffoon, military service be damned. Ditto John Kerrey. -=Mike He may be completely inept as a politician (I don't know, I'm not up on Georgia politics), but comparing him to Oswald or McVeigh is utter blasphemy. For the love of Christ, Cleland didn't do anything treasonous or remotely malevolent to our country. The "questioning patriotism" bullshit is asinine, especially in this case. Attack them on the issues, by all means; he was obviously not the strongest politician. However, you of all people should know that dirty politics is utter bullshit, ESPECIALLY with your defense of Arnold against the Hitler bullshit. If you can truly defend this, you're more of a hypocrite than I had originally imagined.
