Columbus Clippers are 65-52, five behind Toledo. I'm afraid I know very little about the team. I'd go to more games if the stadium wasn't a complete shithole and in the worst part of town.

London Card The opening is the greatest thing ever written. Cool Manson/Hawke buildup promo. Makes sense that Manson would recognize the (admittedly shitty) situation he's in. What happened to the Spike/Johnson match? >_> Very good use of the rope breaks throughout the Hawke/Manson match. I didn't even think about forcing a rope break out of your opponent to make sure they couldn't use it later. Really cool spot with Hawke tricking Manson into the Wing Span, and again when it was used to garner the first fall. I liked how Hawke seemed to work on a different body part for each fall. Consequences counters the Flying Lariat to get the second fall in a great and unexpected spot. The storyline with Hawke growing desperate to win the match and fall back and brawling was very well written. I hope I'm not the only one who had the Benny Hill Theme Song going through his head when Manson started chasing Hawke around the ring. Great way to end the match. Keeps Manson strong, Hawke a dick, and makes use of the rules to their fullest. Excellent promo from Wildchild. I didn't even think about WC being upset over Magnifico turning his back on his high-risk, lucha roots, but he made that the focus of his promo and did a great job with it. He seems more upset about that than anything else, which is surprising but makes perfect sense if you think about it. Awesome, I won. The end of Toxxic's promo is the second greatest thing ever written. Before that it's not bad either, as Toxxic coolly and calmly discusses his upcoming match with Blazenwing of all people. So, Toxxic vs. Pretzler. Nice bit with both characters having their entrance music performed live. Good bit with Pretzler abandoning the back work due to submissions being meaningless in this contest. CATALOGUE POSES~! Oklahoma Roll for the three count kinda came outta nowhere, but the follow-up is fantastic with an infuriated Pretzler taking advantage of a crowd-saluting Toxxic. Cool bit with Pretzler finally manuevering Toxxic into the Wildbomb and tying up the count. Really cool spot with Toxxic realizing that Pretzler would see the third fistdrop coming and switching up his attack in response. Very surprised to see Pretzler kick out of the Toxxic Shock Syndrome, but it sets the pace for the rest of the match. Really smartly written spot with Pretzler holding Toxxic down with the Snowflake Suplex and getting a five count out of it. AWESOME counter to the Boilermaker, and great bit beforehand with Toxxic winking at Flesher. I would have totally bought that as the ending at the point. I like how King and Flesher were declaring fast count throughout the match, heh. Amazing ending. The storyline with Toxxic having to resort to cheating was expertly written. Beautiful finish, particularly the post-match antics. Goddamn that's a classy exit. I can't say enough about it. The rationale behind the leaving, the shedding of all of Toxxic's "look", the Sinatra...perfect. Still wish you weren't leaving, Toxxic, but hell, I can't think of a better way to do it. Las Vegas Card Cool opening. Even I had forgotten how the Maddix/Cortez feud started. It's good to see Megan's perspective in the whole thing. Haha, great use of the stip. The initial stipulation alone was sillier than I expected throughout the entire match. Nice spot with Zyon backflipping off of the ladder and smacking the chain into Ward's face. LOL @ pillows. DAMN cool spot with Blum Dropkicking Zyon mid-Final Flash. Very well written bit with Ward not only screwing Blum out of the victory but beating the hell out of the referee after making it No DQ. I like the inclusion of the elimination stip, but I think Blum should have been eliminated to keep the suspense of there being a new champ or not going. Great ending. Fuggin' Double Ladder Rack. Awesome. Fairly creepy Hoganesque promo from Dangerous to not only promote his match but hint at his heel turn. The last paragraph was just plain eerie; spouting jargon about the Beautiful People and a Greater Tomorrow is a damn cool way to make your character look like they're on the edge of a mental breakdown. Nice bit with Maddix looking to get a little safe gaming in before his match. I have no idea how can he not know what Blackjack is, heh. Great bit with Landon creating a reluctant referee after realizing there isn't a real one around. LOL @ "human bets". Really liked Landon messing with Cortez's head when bringing up Megan. Lord Powerwang = fantastic. In fact, the whole referee escapades bit is beautiful. Same goes for the whole Salon spot. This match makes me want to be booked in a Casino Brawl next time we're in Las Vegas. Fantastic brawl and a great match. I'm honestly not sure if I like this or Toxxic's match better, it's that good. I'm surprised Ejiro was the recipient of boos in the beginning of the match, but it makes for an in-match Double Turn, which is quite a feat. Nice opening with Fasaki overwhelming Johnny on the mat. The eye gouge subtly and smartly begins the turn, which is continued when Johnny resumes his aggressive attack and taunts Ejiro. Cool bit with the fans growing uneasy with Johnny's actions. At this point I'd like to add that Comet was written brilliantly in this match; I loved the passage with the 'flames burning inside Citizen Fasaki's soul'. Again, the fans' reaction is amzingly well-written, as shown again with the Low Blow into the MI Slam. Johnny's infuriated, and Ejiro takes advantage. Great bit with Ejiro getting the hell beat out of him but still managing to lock Johnny into the Crossface. Amazing match in what turned out to be a night full of them. Congrats, Johnny.

Yep. Two was my first World Title. Oh, right, congrats Johnny.

This seems like as good a place as any to let it be known that I will be in NYC from the second to the sixth (and possibly the seventh) and won't have Internet access during that time. If you need to get ahold of me for any reason, now's the time.

Probably Petty Officer. The Navy and Army respectively have many ranks with the name Petty Officer or Sergeant attached to it. Check it out. http://www.gruntsmilitary.com/rank10.shtml http://www.gruntsmilitary.com/rank3.shtml -
So, penis then.

9652. That was about what I was aiming for, so I'm happy. -
Mets win 9-4 despite Ishii starting for them and Oswalt starting for the Astros. I'm still very disappointed with the Mets' performance on this road trip, but at least winning today keeps them somewhat in contention at four games out of the Wild Card. They've got a six game homestand coming up (and I'm going to the games on the second and the third ) and they've gotta get four or five wins out of it.
-
The matches are due at 8 PM that night, right? Just making sure.
-
Hahaha, god dammit. The Mets are a joke at this point. Two runs given up by Pedro over eight innings and you can't deliver? Fine, whatever. One run over seven innings from Glavine and you can't even threaten to score once? Absolutely pathetic.
-
...hm. I like that trade quite a bit for the Mets. Milledge's value isn't anywhere near where it used to be and Heilman is unbelievably inconsistent, so I wouldn't mind them giving them up for Ramirez/Baez/Lugo.
-
*shrug* If it was part of the character all along, it seems kinda odd to introduce it after this long without provocation.
-
Ahahah. This is a twist to the character I didn't expect. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure where one can go with this, but it's cool to see regardless.

Thanks for the comments, WC. I wanted to avoid writing Mag as doing anything stereotypically heelish (eye raking, hair pulling, low blows, what have you), because I wanted to put some distance between his character now and his character when he was first (and second) a heel, when he would gladly execute the listed actions. I didn't want him to turn and immediately regress back to being cowardly and cheap.
-
I know that exact trade is fairly unlikely, but I'm hoping for it anyway. The Mets don't need a second baseman badly enough to give up anymore.
-
The ESPN radio affiliate in Dallas is reporting that Alfonso Soriano has been traded for Mike Cameron and Lastings Milledge. If the trade is confirmed, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, the Mets will be getting a great second baseman for much less than Texas initially wanted. On the other, a second baseman is not what the Mets need. Marlon Anderson is more than capable of playing the position, and both Woodward and Cairo are perfectly acceptable backups. What's more, now you have to do something with Kaz Matsui. If it goes through, I'll be pleased, but it's not a trade the Mets desperately needed to make. There are plenty of other, more urgent things they need to work on.
-
Hey, we're all talking about our own teams here. Do the same if you want the Astros mentioned. If it's any consolation, my posts here for the next four days will incidentally be about the Astros as the Mets are traveling to Houston tomorrow.
-
Wright extends his hitting streak to fourteen games with a two-run double. 7-1 Mets.
-
I can't explain everyone else's miconceptions. I've never, ever written Mag with a mask. 'Course, I never came right out and said he DIDN'T wear a mask, but I didn't realize I needed to specify.

I love this thread. Uh, there aren't any deep dark secrets about ELM that I can reveal, save for the fact that he initially didn't speak a word of English. When Heat stopped wanting to be Senor Psycho and translate for him, that's when Magnifico miraculously learned English.
-
I found it by typing the word "Mexico" into Kazaa and seeing what came up. No, I am not joking. I picked it because it's an energetic, happy song that fit Mag's face character. Also, the second I heard the "UNO! DOS! TRES! CUATRO!" I pictured the pyro that would accompany it. Plus, it had the word Mexico in the title. Even though I'm about as big an athiest as you'll find, the lyrics don't really bother me too much, since they're fairly incomprehensible for the most part.
