Hahaha, that replay was great. "Ready, hut! RARRRGH!"
-
Man, that's a hell of a lot of people. I honestly wasn't expecting them to fill that gigantic stadium to the brim.
-
Actually, Yankees vs. Marlins was pretty cool, if only because of the shocked expressions on the Yanks' faces while walking off the field as the Marlins celebrated.
-
Amen, Czech. Can't stand the damn Astros...

Yeah, but they have more losses than the '73 Mets, so they're still the worst division winners ever. Speaking of which, the Mets' year ends on a pretty sour note today, but all in all, not a bad season. Yeah, there are a couple little things that could have (and should have) been done over the year that would have kept them in conention, but there's no point in dwelling on that now. I think the future of this franchise is very bright. If Jacobs pans out as a viable solution at first base, there are only two real holes to plug (2B and probably C) in the offseason. Reyes and Wright can only get better (and Wright's already the best bat on the team) and I guarantee you that Beltran will have a better season next year. Add that to the fact that they'll have a fairly solid rotation next year (with Seo, Trachsel, Heilman, and Zambrano to pick from to take the four and five spots) and the Mets look pretty promising in 2006.

And Columbus, after OSU games.

Fellas, fellas, esoteric means delicious.

First base, you mean? I dunno. I'm probably being overly optimistic here, but Mike Jacobs has shown amazing potential in the 28 games he's been with the Mets. His line was .298/.371/.681 with 10 HR over about 100 AB, which admittedly isn't enough to make a concrete decision on the guy, but I think the Mets should try and make him their starting first baseman regardless. So long as he makes decent progress over the winter, Jacobs could be a great part of a really young, really talented infield.

Not a very good impression on newer users . . .

Well, I've got ten now, so I think I just passed you. -
Belliard hits a solo HR to bring the score to 3-2. This has been an amazing game. Edit: And now it's over, as Broussard immediately pops out.

Columbus, Ohio. About 65-70 during the day. It was in the eighties three days ago.
-
Cubs hang on to win it! Astros only have a game on the Phils now. This is great. I love that there are still three races undecided with only two games to go.
-
Indians have bases loaded with one out, but can't score. Going to the twelfth...
-
Indians tie it up! Edit: Damn. Boone hits into a Double Play. They're going to extra innings.
-
Yeesh. That was pretty dumb on Damon's part.
-
Meh. From what I've heard it's fairly mediocre anyway, so no big loss.

Carpenter 241.7 IP 2.83 ERA 204 H 18 HR 51 BB 213 K Willis 229.3 IP 2.59 ERA 204 H 10 HR 53 BB 158 K The only stat there in which Carpenter has a distinct advantage is strikeouts. There really isn't a clear-cut case for either. Edit: Of course, I'm still annoyed that Clemens isn't even in the discussion these days.

Whoo, nice. Haven't written a Triple Threat in about three years.

Not at all. SF/Arizona is pretty much guaranteed to suck regardless of where it's held. It'll be interesting to see how the crowd reacts to the game, though. I've got my breath held and my fingers crossed for the Jets game, where we'll see if Bollinger is any good and if he can keep any hopes for a decent season alive.

Ortiz has been saving the Red Sox' season for about a month now.

Great game for the Mets tonight. Wright homers twice and Glavine throws a two-hit shutout (with 11 K and 2 BB) in an 11-0 victory. In what's becoming a tradition, Piazza homers as well and the fans insist on a curtain call.

Well, that's the thing; he hasn't started an NFL game yet. He's only played in one quarter in the two and a half years since he's been drafted.

I believe it's the '73 Mets with 82 wins.
