Putting a team in Seattle would only hurt the Canucks, I think. Anyone in Seattle who really wants to see an NHL game can just drive up to Vancouver so I don't really see the point of putting a team in a place where it would hurt another team. Main reason, probably, that Hamilton has gotten passed over for a team so many times, as it would hurt Buffalo (and to a much lesser extent, Toronto).

I just needed a 3rd basemen and Tino's having just as good a year as Delgado is. No skin off my back, though, if someone else wants him (when he's off the DL, or maybe not) send an offer my way.

Oh yeah, Biddle's horrible, so bad that he lost the closer's job.

Ends up it was an in-grown nail. I went to this walk-in clinic place and the doctor there tore the finger up and told me just to take some antibiotics and wipe it down with some alcohol for a bit.

I just hope that shitty call doesn't sour people's opinions on the game. Those last 10 minutes were heart stopping.

List your injuries and maladies here. I've had this fucking hangnail for about a week now, probably longer and I guess even though it doesn't constantly hurt, it's the most annoying 'injury' I've ever had. You forget about it for a bit until you hit it trying to do the most trivial things (today I've hurt it typing, scratching myself, and adjusting the carseat). I just hit it not 5 minutes ago on my desk AND computer chair about 5 seconds apart, so a nice mix of blood and puss filled up my band-aid while I danced around my room shaking my hand and trying not to yell and wake everyone up. I've had to re-shape my life around this, basically, my left hand is useless. I suppose I should go to the doctor, or something, but I can't bring myself to make an appointment, or whatever, and go in and whine about my fingernail. Doing it on the internet, on the other hand, is a-ok.

Another nice little pitching duel between Harden and Towers tonight until the A's bullpen blew it in the end (allowing Frank Menechino to score, to boot). The march back to .500 continues.

Hockey followed by everything else almost equally. The front page of the sports section in the local paper had an article on the Cup finals and an article on one of the local Jr. A teams. Everything else from pro stuff to local minor sports may get a paragraph or 2 in the 3 or 4 other pages that are dedicated to sports.

Yeah, but 'LA-LA-LA-LA-LAFONTAINNNNNNE!' is classic stuff, so that excuses them somewhat.

Eh, I don't live in Toronto, but going by the Star, I'd say the Raptors, Argos, and Jays are all neck-and-neck depending on the day. Last season, when the Jays were making a run before the All-Star break they were getting good press, usually on the front page of the sports section. The Argos made some waves when they signed John Avery a few weeks ago and the Raptors neverending search for a GM is relatively big news. Of course, they're all bumped to the 3rd or 4th page because of hockey, even though the Leafs (unfortunately) are long gone and we're left with Damien Cox telling us how horrible they are.

I'm hoping they do TV in Ottawa after this so I can go to that, instead.

Nuts to that. Bowen's a homer, obviously, but he brings an excitement to the game and is almost as enthusiastic when whoever the Leafs play score (assuming the Leafs are on the road). He doesn't scream 'HOLY MACKINAW!', of course, but the excitement's still there to a degree.
