  1. Damn.
  2. Well, what else is he going to say if you put him on the spot like that?
  3. Man, the Jays got robbed of a homer earlier on with that Estalella shot and the A's probably wouldn't have scored their run if Rios had been wearing his sunglasses. It's 1-0 the wrong way.
  4. So the Jays took 2 of 3 from the Mariners and now it's time for them to head on down to Oakland so Frank Menechino can put the hurt on his old team.
  5. Halladay to miss second straight start
  6. I don't think Quebec City really thought the team was going to leave until they were sold.
  7. Frank Menechino hit a homer last night.
  8. Maybe they can trade him for Rocky Biddle. Oh, and Halladay's hurt and not pitching tonight, apparently his shoulder's bugging him.
  9. The goodbye song is a Montreal tradition. Watch any Habs game when they're winning a big game towards the end and the crowd is always singing it.
  10. But then there'd be an odd number of teams in each league, which would make scheduling a lot harder.
  11. That Rita MacNeil cameo was awesome.
  12. The only movie that I've seen this year that was downright horrible was Van Helsing.
  13. It's hard to miss since Much shows it about 20 times a day, it seems. I find it hard to believe that these people have gone through their lives without anyone telling them how bad they are that when the judges tell them they're great, they buy it.
  14. Well, there's the 401 that goes through town. That about covers it.
  15. I loved ABC's post-game analysis. Darren Pang talks for about a second before they show a Black Eyed Peas video promoting the NBA finals. I guess there's no reason for them to care about hockey, anyway, with them leaving for NBC.
  16. The only thing I can really think of them dumping was Jack claiming he would leave the country after helping break Salazar out of prison. I don't think they brought that up again after he went down to Mexico.
  17. Meanwhile, Frank Menehoweveryouspellit is helping the Blue Jays win games. Thanks A's.
  18. The Jays gave up Mondesi to the Yankees for practically nothing (Scott Wiggins) just to get him off the team and I'm pretty sure their record improved after that. I don't think chemistry is that important in terms of winning, but I don't think you can completely discount it, either. If there's someone in the clubhouse that no one likes, it's bound to effect something or someone.
  19. As long as I've lived here, a Liberal has had this seat (and it's been in the same family, too), but last time out he won by only 55 votes over the Alliance guy, with the vote being split big time between the Alliance and the PCs. Stephen Harper was here on the first day of the campaign drumming up support and I wouldn't be surprised if Martin comes here, too (he was already here a few months back, right around when the sponsorship scandal broke). I figure the Conservative guy wins here, but that the Liberals get a minority government or a small majority at best.
  20. Ahh, in the NL league I had Glavine, Carpenter, and Clemens all starting tonight and even though none of them gave up more than 2 runs, none of them picked up wins (in Carpenter's case, thanks to the Cards bullpen).
  21. I have to go to work in about an hour. If it wasn't for that, I'd definitely be going out, though...

    The Vines breaking up

Couldn't they just get a new bassist?
  23. Halladay was awesome tonight. Got into a bit of trouble in the 1st then no more hits allowed until the 9th. It's too bad that he couldn't get the shutout, but Jason Frasor's 1 pitch save was nice. Hopefully he's the full-time closer here on out, since this bullpen by committe thing they were doing wasn't working out too well and Terry Adams seems to pitch better when the game's not on the line.
  24. I'm getting pretty lucky in the NL league. Sexson gets hurt, so I pick up Cordero for a bit before he gets hurt. After that, I pick up Daryle Ward right before Sexson gets off the DL. Ward was on a bit of a hot streak, and I didn't want to give him up for nothing, so I made a trade offer before I got around to taking Sexson off the DL. Thankfully, the person who I made the offer to never saw it, since Sexson got hurt again while still on my DL and Ward's still playing well. Tom Glavine and Chris Carpenter are helping out, too, and I don't think anyone thought Clemens would pitch this well. Yeah, I tried to pick him up, too, but I wasted my waiver priority on Justin Miller a few weeks ago.
