::sigh:: Dude...I am perfectly willing to argue these points with anyone, but what I am not going to do is accept personal attacks! I don't know why you, or anyone else, felt the need to personally attack me for my opinion, but I do not appreciate it. I do not know why my opinion makes me an ass, but I think your comments were rather uncalled for, rude, and misplaced in a discussion that had not once reached a personal level. It's not a stupid or "idiotic" debate if it's something we care about. If you have an opinion on it, then fine, but I don't think we need to take it to a level where you're calling a discussion we're having idiotic just because it is not important to you. We're all just arguing our opinions here...let's not make it personal. As for the point, I think you have my point wrong. I recognize that Spike's promo was spontaneous, but at the time when he did it, I was already involved. I don't understand why no one can see that. He wrote it 3 weeks later...and I had already moved on. Perhaps you may not agree with the "ignore it if you can't do it" policy, but you have to at least recognize the fact that Spike did wait a long time before doing it, and that I was alreayd involved. I'm willing to concede that we're all probably going to disagree on this forever. I think the point has been made that this particular subject is just a matter of individual preference, and will probably not be resolved unilaterally. I also concede that throwing Spike through a glass door was too much for the kind of spontenaity that I am talking about. The unwritten rule was always, never injure the person or do something that could injure them. So, I will admit that it was wrong for me to throw him through glass, but I do not think I was wrong for doing "something". I probably should have just punched him or threw him on a car like I did Maddix, but I do not see the problem with doing some act there. I haven't read all the posts after Z's, but I do think we have strayed a little off topic here in this thread. I'm certainly willing to continue the discussion about spontaneous attacks if people want to, but I do think we're kind of exhausted it as far as potential for making the fed better. It sounds like there are people who want to do that, and people who don't like it. Those are hard opinions to change, so unless everyone is really intent on keeping this discussion going (which I am definitly game for), I think we'll just have to agree to disagree and move on to some other ideas to make the fed better. I didn't know that Spike was going to try and start an angle, and had I seen his promo before deciding to start something with Clark, I would have been feuding with Spike. Not to mention he did wait about 3 weeks before posting anything on it. But, all that aside...my point is really that it's not that serious. So Spike didn't get to do an angle with me because I had something else going on...so what? Hell, Spike could have even just written a board promo where he attacked me...and then I would have had to adjust my angle to fit what he did...or ignore it (I probably would have adjusted). I think there are two things you are taking the wrong way right now. The first is about that particular situation. You're making it seem like I was some kind of HHH-style politician who did what I wanted with him and then didn't give him any opportunity to retaliate. But that's not true. Sure, I no-sold his promo...I did that. But that promo came 3 weeks after the fact and I was already involved. I could see if I was in an angle with Clark, and then attacked Spike randomly, and then no sold his retaliation promo. That wouldn't be right because then I would definitely be denying him the chance to get back at me. But that's not what happened. He had time to retaliate...but he just waited too long and I had already moved on to something else. Now, I will say this...I considered having a match with him after seeing his promo, but the writer behind HVT didn't have time to do matches. It was just unfortunate bad timing...and if you recall, I didn't have a single match during my entire angle with Clark. In fact, he did quite a bit of the promo work as well. So, the point is...you're making it seem like I denying him the chance the spontaneous feuds I'm preaching, but in fact, I didn't. There was a 3 week period between the time I attacked him and when he posted his promo, and during that time, I did something else. The second thing is that I think you're taking me to the extreme. I'm not saying all promos and angles should be just random people writing random beat downs on each other. That would be chaos. I'm just saying that if I'm bored, I should feel comfortable writing a promo against someone. Now, perhaps throwing Spike through a glass door was a bit much for a spontaneous promo. For the most part, it could be just destroying someone's car...tallking smack...bitch slapping their girl...whatever. As long as you're not injuring the person you're attacking, i think it should be cool. Also, I think before it was easier to do these because most promos happened on the boards instead of the shows. Now it's hard to do a random beating because on a show, you don't know whats gonna happen. But, I should be able to write a board promo where I punch Mark Stevens in the face without fear of being flamed. Back in the day, if somoene had a problem with it...they just wrote a retailation promo beating the person who attacked him. And there, a feud was born. But, anyway...I'm willing to concede the fact that these are different times and that this place is WAY more smarky than I enjoy, which is part of the reason I just can't write for this fed anymore. Not anyone's fault....but it's just the way it is. Different strokes for different folks. But I tell you...some of the best times were had without planning (Wilson's Meat Festival vs. Carnival, IGNWO vs. Anarchy, HVT vs. Magnifico, HVT/X/King)...at least for me it was. Also, I don't see a problem with the "it never happened" theory. I think that's where we differ. While I do poke fun at the WWE for conveniently forgetting things ever happened, it's just not a problem for me. In fact, I only make fun of it when they choose to forget something that could have helped a current angle. I just don't think it's that serious. Da "not really what I wanted this thread to be abuot" H

Actually...that's exactly my point. What's wrong with how that went down? Did it ruin someone's angle. Had Spike gotten to me first, I probably would have had an angle with him. He was just a little late...and I already had something going on. It's not like I was trying to dis him or anything...i was already busy with rando. The point is...he tried...he called me out...and it didn't work out. What's the big deal? I got away with attacking him...so what? I would get attacked all the time back in the day, and either I got them back for it IC, or I ignored it and no sold it like I did to Spike. What's the problem with that. I think a lot of it boils down to I think people take this way too seriously sometimes. But, be that as it may, if we can...let's get some more ideas going to make the fed better. We've had a ton so far, and all of them are real good. Da "just saw this at the last second" H

Well said Mark...well said! That's kind of what I wanted to say without coming out and saying it. I believe, like Mark, that is not our responsibility to give you all direction. However, on the flip side...if people don't have direction, they may just quit cause it's not fun anymore. Then our fed will die...and I don't want to see that happen. So, while it's not our responsibility...I want to do something to keep this fed going and getting stronger...and if that means we have to point some people in the right direction, then maybe we have to do that. But, I think we all need to look at what Mark said and think about it. The reason this fed was great before was its spontaneity. You never knew what would happen. Board promos...random attacks...you just never knew. So much is planned out in this fed now, that it's rather boring to be honest...and it leaves others with no direction and no place to look for direction. I think we could all benefit from less of the 6 month epic angles with amazingly subtle stuff happening, and more of do it right now and just blow the roof off. I mean, for example...instead of taking 4 months for Duran to leave the UNnamed...leave now! Just shock the shit out of everyone. Because the fact is...if you take 2-3-4 months to do it...no one is gonig to care that much. But that's just my opinion. Da "this is going great" H

As for the random attacks... The key to making it work is respect, trust, and not being stupid. Personally, I trust the people here not to make the show look bad, which it would if Jake attacked Coy with a pipe before his match, but then the match had no mention of it. People would be smart about it and make sure the timing was appropriate for such an endeavor. And if someone is involved, then drop them a line letting them know what you want to do. But, for example, I should be able to make my return on the next show and chokeslam IL through a wall without fear of being flamed. And if, for some reason, someone does this and it didn't work or it messed something up...just no sell it. Pretend it didn't happen. This IS fantasy after all...and we can very easily pretend it didn't happen....or adapt. There was so much adaption back in the day...where people would just watch their angles grow and shrink and change based on other things happening in the fed. As for the time thing... We do have someone that's around "most" of the time...and that is Z. Like I said...I can only speak personally...but I'm pretty sure Z is available most of the day. And, I am "around" all day usually...I"m just at work, so I can't spend more than a few minutes on a post before I have to get my work done. Da "wooly" H

They tag ropes are short topes attached to the turnbuckles. In order to make a legal tag, the non-active participant must be holding the tag rope with at least one hand. It's so you can't make tags where the non-active participant is halfway across the ring. The WWE has brought them back recently, and so we have as well. Da "just learned that a few weeks ago" H

Settle down there Flik...didn't mean to get your all riled up. I'm just saying that to it could create some potential problems...but I'm sure there are ways around them. I can only speak for myself, but I know that I can really only devote significant time on one night to the SWF...which is the night I book. I read the previous show over many days, usually during my lunch. I can't have a significant back and forth with 3 or 4 people over PMs...well, I can, but people wouldn't really get responses in a timely fashion. Myself aside, I think combining your idea with a thread where all this info is public (meaning we only have to post it once) is a good way to go. Also, none of this is stone. I imagine Z will take these ideas and make final decisions on things. Da "oh, and don't even yell at me again...I will kill you!" H

I've been saying that for months Jake!!! I did it to Maddix and then Jenkins, and it led to an angle with Alan Clark. More importantly, Jenkins got pissed about me attacking him, and he challenged me to a match. I was busy, so I just no sold it...and that was that. Also, people should know that no one here is stupid. If you're in an intense angle, no one is just gonna run up and hit you with a pipe. They're only gonna do it if you're idle or if it totally fits. There'll be a few occassions where things won't go right, but then a simple..."Sorry man...I'm too busy" would suffice to keep it from happening again while you're in that angle. But, Jake, people are too protective of their characters now, so I doubt it'll go back to the way it was. Da "double post" H

Flik and IL, I think that idea would be great...in theory. Why do I say, "in theory"? Well, it would really be awesome and would work wonders...but it's assuming a lot on the part of CC. You're assuming that we have the time to go to everyone and give that kind of detail. Now, there is a lot of us, so one person wouldn't have to do everyone, but then that brings the problem of continuity...in that Z might have talked to IL and gotten him in a feud with Annie, but then I just promised Annie to Janus....or something like that. Then we've gotta do clean up on that...or, if it never gets to that, it would be a little chaotic in trying to figure out who is free and who is not because then Janus would have to come back to me and say that Annie is already tied up...blah, blah, blah. This is still a great idea, and perhaps there is a way to do it without relying on CC to put in all that time. I"m not trying to be lazy, but if I had time to do all that, I would have stayed active. Realistically, everything goes to hell if CC even slightly falls behind on things. But, we could think about combining this with Ejiro's idea, where instead of going up to people individually, a member of CC would post the list of people who haven't told them about any angle. Then, you all could discuss amongst yourselves who would fued with who on that thread. And if someone isn't really available that month, they could use that thread to say so, and then no one would contact them. I dunno...but these ideas are great!! Keep 'em coming! Da "deadline is quickly approaching and I'm not finished" H

Those are two pretty damn good ideas Dace. I'd like to see a single booking board account where we can all do what we need to do booking wise. The only problem with that is we kind of have something like that in the CC board, but we don't really use it to its full potential. Perhaps we need to get better about updating things on that board so that all the bookers and markers know what's going on with each person in the fed. And, if you've ever played in rec league sports, it works exactly the same way you and Ejiro are explaining it. If you have team, you just submit it. If you are looking for a team, you post on a board, and someone else who is looking for a player contacts you. We could do something like that here...where if you're looking for an angle, you just post on a thread. If someone else is looking for one, they can just check that thread for people who need angles, or they post to it themselves. The only thing would be that when you get an angle, you should probably go back and edit your post to say you found one, or you could get bombarded with angle requests. Coyjiro, I agree with most everything except the last thing. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to tell people who they will face every month at the PPVs. The reason is that this fed is based on people being able to control their own destiny and not having to just do what they're told. If you do a program with someone, it's up to CC to adapt and book accordingly, all the way up to the PPV. However, I recognize the downside to that...being that people are under no pressure to set up any angles. So, people can go into limbo and get lost because CC doesn't give them a program to work. For those ambitious people, they go find angles...but some others don't, and therein lies the problem. Perhaps there is some middle ground to give people the freedom to find their own angles if they want it, and find angles for people who don't have them. But, I'm not entirely sure that those people in limbo aren't there because they want to be there. Do we want to give an angle to someone who wanted to get lost for a month or two because of other things going on and didn't want to let anyone down by no showing or not writing the promos necessary to run an angle? See what I"m saying. There's so much more to what you're saying there Ejiro West. I'm curious to hear what others think about Ejiro's comment about CC providing angles for people. I think there might be some middle ground to what he's saying and what I"m saying that could be very helpful. Da "getting no work done" H

Yeah Tom, I can see why that would be a problem, and I'd like to think that we don't do that now. I mean, I know we've probably forgotten, denied, possibly ignored requests, but I'd like to think that we were at least apologetic for it and didn't tell the writer to sit on it. That's kind of rude. Perhaps we need to be a little bit better about keeping track of people's booking requests because I know it's hard for me to remember who requested what, especially when some requests come to me and some come to Z. Let's do this...is it possible for people to send ALL booking requests to all 3 bookers, and in the event that you can't (or are too lazy to do so), send them to the person BOOKING the next show (which is the person posting the upcoming show)? I think if we can streamline the process of booking requests, we can minimize the errors and possibly avoid them all together. Da " just a suggestion" H

The Smart Marks Wrestling Federation Presents... SWF® LOCKDOWN!™ LIVE, WEDNESDAY, MARCH 17TH! FROM THE SOLD OUT AMERICA WEST ARENA IN PHOENIX, AZ! (4pm PCT, 7pm EST; Only on SMWN, The SmartMarks Wrestling Network) SWF's From the Fire is in the books and, while the ashes have settled, Storm brought about several more flames. The Unnamed has vowed revenge against everyone that wronged them at From the Fire. Grappler sits up on high, with a huge target on his back. Terrence Bailey is certifiably insane, and the Disney freak has made a huge name for himself. And the rookie Toxxic has a strong breakout month...and then insults the commissioner. What will all of this bring us on Lockdown? Tune in on Wednesday to find out! OPENING PROMO: John Duran Fresh off a huge win over Terrence Bailey, and after getting attacked by Janus on Storm, the Unnamed’s John Duran has more than a few words to say, and he will kick off Lockdown with them! SUBMISSION MATCH FOR THE INTERCONTINENTAL-TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP Toxxic vs. Insane Luchadore© SWF Commissioner “Grand Slam” Mark Stevens has decided that in an effort to prevent fans from arriving to events late, he will open the show with a HUGE MATCH! At From the Fire, the SWF newcomer not only solidified himself as one of the SWF’s most solid superstars, but he also let the world know that he will do anything it takes to win. At this very early juncture of his career, the recently honored wrestler of the month has turned some serious heads, both in the locker room and in the board room. But, is it beginner’s luck, or is Toxxic for real? As part of his push to give the fans better matches and to reward outstanding talent, Commissioner Stevens awarded Toxxic with the Wrestler of the month honor on Storm, and with it comes a shot at any title in the federation. In a manner that left the fans stunned and repulsed, Toxxic chose to take his chances against the new ICTV champion, Insane Luchadore, but not before insulting and degrading the commissioner. IL was less than pleased as well, having to defend his title so shortly after winning it. It should be one hell of a contest as both men have to prove their recent road to success was not a Cinderella story. Rules: Winner is first person to force his opponent to give up, “tap-out”, or be rendered unconscious due to a submission maneuver. DQs and count-outs in effect. Word Limit: 5000 Send To: Grand Slam NO-DISQUALIFICATION SINGLES MATCH Terrence Bailey or Janus vs. Mike Van Siclen Janus…Terrence…Janus…Terrence…SHEESH! Could we be seeing yet another personality change by the enormous anti-heel machine? After losing to John Duran at From the Fire, the loveable and huggable Terrence Bailey was less than pleased. On Storm, traces of his “other” personality surfaced in the form of Janus. This dude is plain fucking psycho, and many believe that he is more fit for a psychiatric ward than a wrestling ring. However, there are those that consider him a enormous talent when he’s under control. MVS, however, is un-fazed by Bailey, having defeated many a hoss in his day. But, which man will he be fighting…will it be the tame Terrence Bailey, or the monster with no regard for human life, Janus. We’ll just have to tune in and see. Rules: Win by pinfall, submission, or knockout. DQs and count-outs NOT in effect. Word Limit: 3500 Send To: Thoth IN CONCERT: Alan Clark The SWF Cruiserweight Champion, Alan Clark, fresh off a huge win at From the Fire over HVT, will entertain the crowd with a live concert right here on Lockdown! SINGLES MATCH Dace “F’N” Night vs. Sacred Sacred lost his US title to Coy West, and as depressed as he may be now, he’s still got to earn a living. And earn it he shall…as he and the Unholy Trinity’s Dace Night step into the squared circle. Dace Night scored big over veteran Danny Williams, who returned at FtF, if only for one night. Dace could be on his way back to the top and perhaps a shot at the world title might await him if he can get on a roll. Well, he’ll have to go through tenured veteran, former world champion, and SWF hall of famer, Sacred, before he can even think about any of the SWF titles. Rules: Standard singles rules. Word Limit: 3500 Send To: chirs3 SINGLES MATCH FOR THE #1 CONTENDERSHIP TO THE SWF CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE Johnny Dangerous vs. Jimmy “The Demon” Liston As one half of the tag team champions, Johnny Dangerous has already proved that he’s got what it takes to perform at the highest level. Jimmy Liston is still in the process of proving himself, both to the SWF fans and the SWF Commissioner, Mark Stevens. Johnny beat Cruiserweight champion, Alan Clark, several weeks ago, and he’d like the chance to do it again…this time, for the Cruiserweight title on the line. However, he’s going to have to go through the energetic upstart to get that chance. Rules: Standard singles rules. Word Limit: 4000 Send To: HvilleThugg SINGLES MATCH FOR THE SWF UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP “The Coyote” Coy West© vs. Alan Clark At From the Fire, the uber redneck, Coy West, snatched the US Title from Hall of Famer, Sacred. Also at From the Fire, Disney’s front man, Alan Clark, went through hell and back in defeating Hall of Famer HVT. Commissioner Stevens was particularly pleased with the performance of both men, but more specifically, Alan Clark, for the way he put his money where his mouth was in defeating Mark’s old nemesis, Thugg. Even though he wasn’t particularly happy with Clark’s interaction with HVT, he is definitely in the mood to reward the singing, bouncy Cruiserweight champion for keeping his word. But can Clark live up to the new bar he has set for himself, or will the Coyote bring him screaming back down to earth. Rules: Standard singles rules Word Limit: 4500 Send To: Suicide King MAIN EVENT TAG TEAM MATCH House of Todd (Todd Royal/Landon Maddix) vs. Charlie “Grappler” Matthews/Ann “Ichiban” Onita Special Guest Commentator: “The Notorious” John Duran After Storm, the new SWF World Heavyweight Champion, Charlie Matthews, decided to try and get the jump on the Unnamed, who vowed revenge on him and all the others they lost to at From the Fire. So, Matthews got Ann Onita, and requested a tag match with the House of Todd. Is it possible that there’s something sinister behind the fact that Matthews requested a match with the severely banged up team of Todd Royal and Landon Maddix? Perhaps, but we can be sure that Todd will play a very limited role here after the events of From the Fire. Will Grappler and Ichiban have their way with Maddix, or will Todd muster up enough energy to start the revenge ball rolling against the new world champ? Oh, and did I mention that House of Todd ally, John Duran, will be at ringside doing commentary? Well, he will…and perhaps that might turn the tables in Unnamed’s favor. Rules: Standard tag rules. Tag ropes recommended. Word Limit: 6000 Send To: realitycheck Show Poster: Grand Slam.

I know people might not agree with me, but last night I fell in love with the WWE and wrestling again. That was in the top 3 of wrestlemanias that I've seen/cared about. The playboy match...was what it was. In my opinion, it was very, very good...in a gratuitous sort of way. I didn't expect any wrestling, but watching near naked stacy roll about the ring with her legs in the air was enough for me to mark out. The tag matches were lost and pointless, I'll definitely say that. They seemed to have no place on that show, and no one seemed to care. It didn't bring me down much though because I was expecting that, so I didn't really care about those matches. The only part of the show when I was pissed off was during Brock/Goldberg. Personally, I like hoss matches...and I thought that match would have been decent. It just seemed very odd...not to mention boring. They just stood around for 15 minutes...and for the whole match, they just didn't do anything. I liked the crowd reaction, which showed that even marks know grade F work when they see it. Just horrible...horrible...and I didn't recover until Eddie/Angle. It also didn't help that a pointless tag match followed that spectacle. It just seemed like they changed the match at the last second, and neither man really wanted to do anything. Eddie/Angle...rock! I just love watching those two work in the ring...it's just fun. Eddie really combines great ring work with a true essence of sports entertainment. The finish was spectacular. I know that I will be in the minority, but I loved the Undertaker. Sure, I would have liked to see him in longer hair...with the big tie, and a bit more pasty white. But I've been waiting for years for him to go back to the deadman gimmick, and I marked out when he came out. Paul Bearer was a very nice touch. I kind of wish that Kane hadn't gotten squashed, but I was still marking cause I love old school Taker. Also, I kind of wish UT wouldn't have sold as much...at least not the punches and such. Hell, if you're gonna do a squash...do it all the way. I think, for me, I was so excited about Taker coming back with the deadman gimmick, he could have come out with pink booties and a sombrero, and i would have been happy. Rock's promo was great! And, of course...like everyone else, I marked like crazy when HHH tapped out. That match was one of the best matches I've seen WWE put on in a long time. I was totally into the whole match (although, part of that was cause at the beginning, my friends and I had an over-under bet going on how many moves HHH would do...the over/under was 5). The double suplex onto the table was sick...although, I"m not sure why Shawn would help HHH, but still...it looked sick. I love they way they teased the crossface through out the whole match. They really made it look like the greatest submission hold of all time that no one could tap out of. When Beniot locked it on, I was thinking...dammit...if he'd locked on Michaels, then he'd have a chance...but HHH ain't tappin. And, I was patting myself on the back for being right when he got to the ropes....but then, I marked harder than I have every marked before when Beniot rolled over and locked it in again. I knew then...right then...that this would be a historical moment. I knew right then that HHH was going to do the job...and cleanly. I knew right then that HHH would tap out. I knew right then that hell was freezing over. And for me...that ending was so amazing, that it made up for anything that was lacking in the show (like the Heenan/Mean Gene make out spot, or the Ventura political plug). I don't care what anyone says...that show just fucking ruled!
