  1. Everything you said is fine, and I even backed up a lot of it in my above post, except for the part where you said it straight up sucked in terms of the horror. But you don't even like horror movies at all, so there ya go. It isn't actually frightening or anything like that, but the elements of horror in the flick were done fine to me, and I watch a shit load of horror movies. Of course I marked for Pam. I mark for her every single time I ever see her.
  2. Can Benoit drag a decent singles match out of Animal? FIND OUT NEXT!
  3. I just got back from seeing this, and I must say that my steak continues. I saw The Hills Have Eyes, Inside Man, V for Vendetta, and now this, Slither, and I've loved them all. Slither was also the most entertaining flick of them all to me. I don't understand how anyone who enjoys horror or campy flicks at all can say that they don't like this movie. The movie flew by, as it was working on all cylinders. The filmmakers didn't just string out the flick just for the sake of length. They set it up, put the plot in motion, and drove it straight home without any shitty subplots or anything like that. It had some fantastic hilarious lines, like , it had aliens, zombies, a little nudity, slug creatures, gore, a Lloyd Kaufman cameo, tons of things done in homage to other flicks, and on and on and on. It walks that fine line between straight up horror and straight up comedy/parody, and it does it pretty much flawlessly. It's the best film of it's kind since Shaun of the Dead. I wish that we could have more flicks like this in theaters more often, because they are so damn fun and entertaining to watch. James Gunn is well on his way to doing even greater things, and I can't wait to see what comes next. The ratings are deserved, you should believe the hype. We've had a botload of shitty horror flicks over the past few years, but this sure as hell isn't one of them.
  4. A while back I saw the trailer for the new Antonio Banderas flick, Take the Lead, and I couldn't help but laugh all the way through it. If ever there has been a cliched film trailer, this is it. It comes off like a total parody of this type of film, especially the quote that I have listed as the forth point below: http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/take...iler_large.html -Yet another flick about a stern teacher who is given a class of the trouble makers, and everyone goes through a series of the typical ups and downs over the course of the school year. The teacher goes in, slowly starts to act cool to them, and the students learn from him and in the end he learns just as much from them. -Scenes of random violence. -"So nobody told you we were the school rejects?" -"He thought teaching them would make a difference. They thought breaking him would be easy. Now, when his skill meets their passion, a new style is born. -"These are the kids that needs the most help of all!" -"We don't need your charity or anything." -"Everyone expects nothing of you!" -"You can get whatever you want!" -Inspired by a true story! How many more films do we need with this same exact plot exactly? The entire deal with Take the Lead deal reminds me of all of the talk about Snakes on a Plane, and people coming up with sequels and different spins on that idea. It's like these goofs in Hollywood just got together and went something like: "Ok, we need another flick about ghetto kids that need discipline but we want a new spin on it to make it seem like it's a fresh and new idea!" "OMGWTF, I've got it boss! How about ghetto kids that need discipline...through the power of dance!!!!!!!!!" "Consider it greenlit! You are a genious! You'll go places in this town kid!" The next thing we know we'll see a film about ghetto kids that need discipline...through the power of cooking...on a plane or something. These flicks write themselves.
  5. Holy shit Deon.
  6. Dangerous A, you are exactly right about that also, it's just pathetic. Just for fun, here is a list of everything Mysterio has done this year. I'll put in bold everything that made him look like a twat, as well as the times that he lost a match: January 6, 2006 - Smackdown!: MNM (Mercury & Nitro) defeated Batista & Rey Mysterio in a Cage to retain the Tag Team titles! January 13, 2006 - Smackdown!: Rey Mysterio participated in a 20-Man Battle Royal for the World title (won by Kurt Angle).. January 20, 2006 - Smackdown!: #1 CONTENDERS MATCH: Mark Henry w/Melina Perez vs Rey Mysterio.. Mark Henry pinned Rey Mysterio to secure a World title shot at Royal Rumble (Angle has his work cut out!) January 21, 2006--WWE Live Event: Rey Mysterio participated in a special "Tribute to Eddie Guerrero" show in Monterrey, Mexico.. January 27, 2006 - Smackdown!: Mark Henry w/Daivari defeated Rey Mysterio in a rematch.. ~~~Rey Mysterio also dedicated his predicted 'victory' in the Royal Rumble to the memory of Eddie Guerrero.. January 29, 2006 - Royal Rumble: Rey Mysterio entered at #2 and miraculously won the Royal Rumble match!!!! February 3, 2006 - SD!: Randy Orton made tasteless comments about Eddie Guerrero and challenged Rey to put up his title shot.. ~~~MAIN EVENT: Mark Henry & Randy Orton beat Rey Mysterio & Kurt Angle (Rey accepted Orton's challenge for No Way Out.. February 10, 2006 - Smackdown!: Randy Orton spoke negatively of Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio attacked Orton again! February 17, 2006 - Smackdown!: Rey Mysterio beat Sylvan (Randy Orton cut a promo saying Rey will never main event a WM).. February 19, 2006 - No Way Out: Randy Orton defeated Rey Mysterio to win Rey's title shot at WrestleMania 22.. February 24, 2006 - Smackdown!: GM Long decided to add Rey Mysterio to the WWE title match at WM22 making it a 3-WAY! ~~~MAIN EVENT: Chris Benoit & Rey Mysterio & Bobby Lashley defeated Randy Orton & John Bradshaw Layfield & Fit Finlay.. March 10, 2006 - SmackDown!: Kurt Angle & Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton & Mark Henry w/Daivari ended in a No Contest.. March 17, 2006 - SmackDown!: Kurt Angle & Rey Mysterio & Randy Orton defeated Mark Henry & MNM (Mercury & Nitro).. March 18, 2006 - Saturday Night's Main Event: RAW (Triple H & John Cena) beat SD! (Kurt Angle & Rey Mysterio & Randy Orton).. March 24, 2006 - SmackDown!: Fit Finlay defeated Rey Mysterio with help from Randy Orton RKOing Rey Mysterio! ~~~Randy Orton interfered later in Kurt Angle's match, bring Rey down to help, but Rey accidentally hit Angle, causing problems.. March 31, 2006 - Smackdown!: Kurt Anlge defeated Rey Mysterio perfectly clean, Rey tapped out. After the match Randy Orton got in the ring and gave Rey the RKO, leaving him laying outside of the ring as Kurt and Orton went at it. So, he won the Rumble, beat fucking Sylvan, and was on the winning team in two different tag matches, and in one of those Randy Orton made him look like a total moron. I also put in bold where it talks about Teddy Long putting Rey in the match, just because it was such a cheap way to do things, and made it look like Rey didn't really deserve it...but they went ahead and just let him because they felt sorry for the guy. Now that I look at all of this "on paper", I'm not sure where any excitement even came from in the first place. They have treated him like shit all year except for that Rumble win, and even there they didn't let it be the main event. And all of this is just about Rey. What they've done to Kurt Angle is a totally different story. EDIT: The March 3, 2006 Smackdown isn't listed above because he isn't listed as even being on that show, the show right after he actually beat someone (JBL, tag). EDIT AGAIN: I just edited the above to add what happened at Smackdown tonight.
  7. Would it seriously shock anyone if Flair did a good job in the MITB match? I mean, really? The guy seems to always be put in matches, and most people doubt him and thinks that the match will end up very shitty, and he then goes out there and shocks all of those people. The Edge/Flair TLC match was a lot better than it had any business to be. He may have off nights in those little matches on RAW here and there, but when push comes to shove and it's a really important match, he really gives his all to bust out one more solid bout.
  8. To me, they have sucked out every bit of excitement that was surrounding the possibility of Rey winning the title at WM. On the way to the Rumble, he was getting his ass kicked every week by Mark Henry, but then he won the Rumble, and was set to take on Kurt Angle in a great match. But no, they then do all of that shit with Orton talking about Eddie Guerrero, then they have Orton beat Rey to take his WM shot, then Teddy Long just goes ahead and allows Rey to be in the WM match anyway. Then since all of that happened he has been beaten and abused by people almost every week, including jobbing to Finlay! Has Rey Mysterio even done shit the entire month of March other than be made to look like a douche? The last time I remember him looking good at all was the last SD in February where he picked up a pinfall over JBL in a tag match. They better be doing something fucking huge with Rey on this coming SD for them to help him get back to where he should be going into this WM match. And don't get me wrong here - I would still get excited and be very happy if Rey won at WM. There just isn't that excitement surrounding him as there once was. By this point they might as well just be doing Angle/Orton for the SD title match. That's pretty much what it feels like anyway by this point.
  9. Thanks a lot Bob. It's at 95% overall at RT, with 100% Cream of the Crop with 19 reviews counted.
  10. Does RVD really seem like the kind of guy that would go out there and not put forth any effort in his matches just because he thinks that he might not be pushed? I don't think so.
  11. I don't think RVD will ever be as over as he once was until they let him be RVD through and through. Yes, they stuck him in there with the wrong guys when he first came back. I'm a huge RVD fan, but there does seem to be something off with him since he made his return, both in terms of his ring work and his connection with the fans. If he wins the MITB match, then the next night on RAW RVD should instantly once again be the cocky, cool, asshole that he plays so damn perfectly.
  12. If Ric Flair wins, and I'm starting to think that he will, then I'm sure they'll book it so that it looks like he pretty much got lucky. Maybe a he'll be knocked out, and a big spot will happen that takes out most everyone else in the match. Flair gets up, maybe he fights with Finlay for a short while, then when Lashley holds back Finlay from getting the win, it gives Flair the chance he needs to pick up the win. If Flair doesn't when, then it'll be RVD and he'll cash in at the upcoming ECW show. The only two people that really makes sense right now are RVD and, yes, Flair. Then again, if you figure in another year or so of build, the winner could really be just about anyone in the match.
  13. I said that to get people all worked up about watching it...
  14. I just downloaded this hour+ audio file, the 3/23/06 In This Corner show that includes an interview of The Iron Shiek, where they ask him about that YouTube clip. I haven't listened to it yet, so don't blame me if it sucks. I uploaded it to MegaUpload, so have at it: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T6W3H6EI At the start they do say that it'll be about 15 minutes before Shiek will join them. They talk a little about WM, and other stuff before he is supposed to come on. They do describe John Cena in a funny way though, so maybe it isn't all bad.
  15. The entire thing is at PWT. I just started the download, and I can't wait to burn this one to DVD.
  16. Wow, it's at 90% now at RT! I think it'll end up at around 75% or so, which would be great for a flick like this. Then again, it might fall like a brick after more of the more stuck up critics submit their reviews. Is it wrong that every time I see the following picture, I see a huge obese woman's naked breast with a big ol' hairy nipple and two crusty warts on the sides?
  17. HOLY SHIT!!! I can't believe she was totally naked in that video!
  18. Here is the Wrestlemania 22 press conference report from PWInsider:
  19. That goes back to the entire thing about how Bret's request should only be that HBK isn't in the crowd for his induction. While I still think that it's not professional, I'd understand it more. He could show up at the end, HBK can leave, and then he can give the speech and end the show. Like someone already said though, HBK has said that he wouldn't be there if Bret wanted it that way, so all of this is really pointless.
  20. Michael Cera will go on to really great things. I posted something about how I thought he was one of the best guys on the show a while ago.
  21. That would be a great way to explain all of this, except for the fact that the HoF ceremony is not just a show to thank Bret. It's not just all about him and only him. It's a show to honor the business, and eight other inductees as well.
  22. Hmmm, I didn't know that. Well, Helms is out for a number of weeks/months, right? They could have done this "big" angle where the cruisers fought over the number one contendership in Helms' absence. The point is that the cruisers should have been on the show. I don't mean that really in a way where I'm saying they should care for the division, because we all know they really don't. I'm shocked they didn't have them on the show just because it usually makes for a hot match that gets the crowd really into the show. Seems like they'd want that on there. As of right now, there aren't really matches like that on the card, unless they blow their load and have the MITB match go on first.
  23. From the latest FoleyIsBlog: http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/mickfoley/foleyisblog
  24. Slither is at 83% right not at RT, with five fresh and one rotten.
