My favorite way to sum up how I think Mystic River was the best film of 2003 is simple. I feel that it was just the tightest film, the performances, the screenplay, the plot, the feel, just everything. It just felt very tight to me, everything fell into place just perfectly. It's the tightest film that I've seen in years.

I'm not bitter, I thought ROTK was a good movie, but just that good. I didn't get caught up in this LOTR-fandom, OMG THE BEST MOVIE EVER, bullshit. I also don't think it was THE BEST movie of 2003, that's all. That's exactly how I feel about it.

Finally, I get another one right, 6/9. By the way, I loved The Last Samurai as well.
