  1. Don't worry, the real payoff will happen at the SS. Goldberg will defeat HHH once again, after Evolution totally turns on the guy.
  2. Inside of an empty ring?
  3. WWE isn't even in any danger at ALL concerning them going down. Anyone who thinks they are even close, are just wanting to believe that.
  4. Perhaps for you, not for me. My cover would remain for the employees of the company who were vital on screen characters, the guys who worked FOR the McMahons, not the owner and his family. If your cover is different, then good. But this is my cover damnit, ALL MINE!
  5. *lines up everyone who thinks WWE is going out of business and slaps them all at the same time*
  6. Austin is on the cover, for the most part, because of that whole historic feud. We can't have both sides of all of the historic feuds on the cover.
  7. A McMahon wouldn't be on the cover, period. There will be a ton of stuff in the book about the family, and how it all started, we do not need them on the cover to pimp the book, let the actual characters do that. I don't know about most of you, but Bobby Heenan to me was a far more likeable character over the heels than any of the McMahons, not to mention that to me he meant more on TV and in the booth than any of the McMahons also. I'm not saying this because I "hate" the family, I don't. It's just a fact that I've never been that big of a fan of them on TV at all. I can't get into any of them, not even Shane as he's currently being used. Hell, I DESPISED Vince when he did commentary, I can't stand hearing him call a match to this day. To me, he is one of the worst at that.
  8. Without a doubt, and if I had two more spots these would more than likely be the two guys that I would give those two spots to. As I said, I'd want at least non-wrestler on the cover, that was still a vital on screen character over the years.
  9. Also, I don't know if any of you would care, but how about a top ten for the AWA?
  10. Bobby Heenan is a WWF Staple. He was one of the most influential managers in the company, possibly only second to "Classy" Freddie Blassie in that respect. Not only that, but to ME, the man is the "Voice of WWF", not JR or any other shit like Lawler. I'd put Bobby Heenan on the cover in place of someone like a Savage or Andre, for the above reasons and simply because I'd want at least ONE non-wrestler but someone that was still very much an on screen/in ring character. Bobby Heenan was a vital part of many a feud, and obviously in the booth. To me, it would be muticolor Sting, that is how I'll remember Sting in 20 years.
  11. I have. Would you care to tell me when?
  12. I don't think I have EVER had an emotional bond with any Austin persona, that right there keeps him from even touching my list in terms of a "total package".
  13. Bah! How can anyone leave off Bob Backlund? Mick Foley wouldn't even be near being on my list.
  14. I've never truly felt an actual emotional bond to a PROMO, as I have many times while watching a Ric Flair promo/interview. To be honest, I can't think of that many off of the top of my head. There are a few times where Cactus Jack really got to me, and especially the Owen Hart promo after he turned on Bret at the Royal Rumbl '94. I'll never forget Owen on the big screen, shouting down to his brother as he was being helped to the back. That was truly a special moment, just fucking great.
  15. I just saw this topic over at WC and, once again, thought I'd post it over here to see what you guys would say. Just as the topic says, if you could pick ten guys to be on the cover of a history of the WW(E/F/W) book, what guys would you choose? To keep anyone from trying to be a smart ass, include WWWF also, heh. Here are my quick picks... Bruno Sammartino Bob Backlund Hulk Hogan The Undertaker Bret Hart Steve Austin The Rock Roddy Piper Bobby Heenan Billy Graham ...also, as I stated at WC, I understand how important Vince McMahon and his entire family is, obviously, but if they were to release a book about the history of the federation, I see no reason why Vince would have to be on the cover, to take away once again from one of the actual workers. Just have a huge chapter inside of the book with a few pictures and the such about the entire McMahon family, perhaps chapter one, and leave the outer cover to those of the ring. Ok, once I return later, I'll post WHY I picked the guys that I did, if the topic is still active. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
  16. As I said, when I see someone ONLY mention Japanese wrestlers, I'm just currious as to who they like in the States, that's all.
  17. Seeing a few of you mention Tom Billington puts a huge ass smile on my face. I don't care what any of you here say, but I'M the biggest DK mark here. I could watch his matches and never tire of them.
  18. Yes, that is very possible. The only exception is that you can't take the champions out of the season, so if Brock is a champ, he must remain in the new season. To build up my CAWs, as I've said time and time again, I created a single "jobber" CAW with an overall stat of 10.5 I do believe and made a copy of him enough of times so he'd be the only guys in the season, so I could breeze through the season, and as a result, save up a ton of CAW points. Then I take that CAW that I was using (never actually using the stats I get with him), copy HIM over and over, and then I just edit those and now all of my CAWs have enough stats so that I can give them whatever I want.
  19. They don't have to be, I simply like to hear what certain people think of both groups, US and Japanese. You can't doubt that there is a huge difference in the style in many cases between the two. It's just, when someone lists all Japanese wrestlers, I'm just currious as to who they enjoy in the states, that's all. *still shocked*
  20. I take it you are a life long Hogan fan, yes?
  21. Also, to clarify, by best WRESTLER I mean in-ring skill alone, his wrestling talent and everything. When I say best WORKER, I'm talking about all aspects that make someone a Pro. Wrestler, both in ring and out. I'll be honest, there are guys that I'd rather watch a match of than Ric Flair, but when I sit back and think about who I'd rather watch over and over, both in ring and out, I can't come to the conclusion for anyone other than Flair.
  22. Tim, given the list that you have presented, does that by default mean that you would say that Flair is the best in the US?
  23. *double blinks* You would rather watch a Hogan match than a Flair match? YOU, the guy who ragged on me for months for sticking up with the WWE product? *gasp*
  24. Before I head out for the rest of the day, I'm currious as to who you would name as both "Best Overall Worker" and "Best Wrestler", both of all time. I know you dislike Flair, so who are the guys that you truly love to watch. Not just now, as I said, but throughout the years.
  25. This is a topic that I started over at the WC message board almost a year ago, and it ended up being a huge discussion, and a very long topic. I found it very interesting what everyone had to say on everything that was talked about in the thread, and so I thought I'd post it here also to see what you guys have to say about it. Consider this just a starting point, not all of my thoughts on this, as it obviously isn't. The following is simply meant to begin the dicussion, and we'll all go from there. So here we go, the following is my original (albeit short) topic. I recently entered a discussion with someone, and it began with a Hulk Hogan quote. He said that Flair was one of the greatest WORKERS of all time, but not wrestlers. I said I agree with Hogan, and the comments began. Here is my thinking... ...Ric Flair is simply great, in every way in my eyes. In my view, he is the greatest all around worker in the history of Pro. Wrestling. From character, to in ring work, to charisma, mic work, and everything else. I do NOT however see him as the greatest WRESTLER. WORKER yes, but not wrestler. So, in your view, is Flair the greatest worker, wrestler, or neither, of all time? Sincerely, ...Downhome...
