Ok, no longer David Arquette. Now it's Jeff Jarrett. (remember, this is the same company that advertised Test as a World champion just because he had the tag belts) I'm missing where TNA ever promoted a Test appearance as "a former world champion" but whatever. I don't think this is Jarrett for that same reason. It's either Booker, or as a way way WAY long shot, Flair.

Please please I hope Junior Fatu is gone. PLEASE.

Yeah, she didn't look good AT ALL. For what its worth, I thought Brooke was all kinds of fucking hot in that leopard get-up.
-
I guess I'm the only one who is thinking the whole Cornette thing is leading to him turning heel?
-
I think its pretty much a lock it's Jericho. As for the "X29" thing, that was on the video they aired on the ppv last night actually....

At the insistence of a few friends, we all threw down on the show and I guess it wasnt all that bad, albeit pretty borderline uneventful. That is the thing with WWE ppvs anymore - none of them stand out to me as must see hardly, even in the aftermath. The opener was pretty decent, though, but rushed. ECW title match was actually better than I expected and I liked a bit of a surprise factor there with Miz being picked. Hardy/Kennedy was your typical standard Raw match, actually they have had much better matches on Raw, so it was weird to see them a bit underwhelming here. MVP/Kane was an absolute dud of a match with a stupid finish. As for Orton/Michaels, some good heat and decent stuff, but a finish and entire match that honestly should have just been done on Raw given how it's clearly leading to another match with the two. The last two matches were quality though and saved the show from being total shit. HHH/Umaga (*** 3/4) was a good street fight. Taker/Batista (*** 3/4) was also well done, although Austin as the ref played absolutely no part in the match itself. Overall, a pretty forgettable ppv that at least had some good action in spots, but delivered solidly with the two main matches.

It's REALLY campy and over the top cheesy, which normally I like, but I dunno, something about it just comes off as extremely lame to me. Just not very entertaining considering the really bad Pinata effects. It's like I can't even suspend disbelief whatsoever that the way the story goes is even happening at all when it cuts to animated shots of a badly CGI'd killer Pinata monster. More than the fact that its playing on TV, what just confuses me is why AMC of all channels shows it and plus, it seems like it's on WAY too much.
-
Yeah, I didnt want to give away too much, but felt if I opened that text up, there might be some stuff that could be read a certain way that might spoil the film a tad bit. I was very vague though. While I am at it though, this IS a major spoiler...
-
Can anyone explain why AMC has such a hard-on for airing the horrible Pinata: Survival Island? I just don't get how such a bad and random shitty film gets put on this channel such as this. It's on right now as part of the Monster Bash or whatever its called.

I just got out of a midnight showing of this and I was pretty impressed. And it's quite the ending, I will say that much. I really didn't see the ending coming (especially as specific as they got it) until it happened so kudos to the writers on that. In fact, I'm still trying to figure out how the ending really went (that statement will make sense to those who see it) in terms of where does it go from here. LOTS of backstory in more ways than one, relating to how Jigsaw became what he turned into, and how everything just connects with this person and that. Ties in, once again, very well to the previous films. Quite the swerves abound here a bit regarding timeline structure regarding its' relevance to the other films and who you think is pulling who's strings by the end of it.

Holy shit, Tony as the lead villian - that's quite a twist. I guess the delay on the season's shooting was for good reason, that's a hell of a storyline for the next year.
-
I would like some listed examples of my "BS info". Listen to the show and you'll see he didnt actually state as you quoted completely. I already listed the examples - the first and last quotes from him in your post.
-
Holy clusterfuck, Batman! I would imagine we'll see that classic four way dance at Survivor Series or something.
-
Chances are that will be the main event tonight, since Kane/BDV is up next. Good opening segment there.

Whats stupid about the whole Steph is upset thing is that it didnt take a rocket scientist to figure out it was Jericho without anyone leaking it. There is so many clues that point to him in the vignettes that it was obvious that it was him - like immediately. This is a clear example of management not really getting the point. If something is creating a positive buzz, who the fuck cares? Stephanie needs to start thinking outside the box, but unfortunately I doubt that will ever happen. And yes, those writers would be fucking idiots to sign such an agreement to say the least.
-
Its because he didnt - he said it "makes you feel like a loser" when you are in a huge arena and only a small amount of people are in attendance. Like I said before, the original poster to this thread took what he said COMPLETELY out of context. Jericho never said either the first or last statement he was quoted on saying in that first posting.

Well ECW just got renewed, so I might expect a little push back on this Smackdown/ECW tie-in now, maybe going as far as just having Kane moved to ECW (and turned heel) and BDV moved to ECW, with a few other trades potentially. You very well may be the only one who doesnt like the Kelly/Balls storyline around here. I completely enjoy it and its one of the few storylines in WWE land that keeps me intruiged. I REALLY would like to see Morrison turned face in due time, as I said last week. A feud with the Miz just makes sense. I'm hoping for another match with them tonight to make their case for the ppv. Will Stevie Richards be on tonight? He's been MIA the last 2-3 weeks. And Dreamer's "push" has gone down to nothing. That's far from shocking, just stupid though since they pushed him to go over in that No Mercy title shot deal, BDV squashes him, and thats been the end of it. No follow up whatsoever.
-
He didnt outright say "loser" the way it seems to be percieved and it was more towards the fact that they were in a 15,000 seat arena with only about 300 or so people in there. Was more of the essense that because of the large arena, it made the small crowd feel like idiots for being there considering the potential or something (hard to explain). I'll have to go back and listen again but the way the original poster stated this was totally taken out of context and that's not how it was said or meant.
-
I would really think that if they are going for Jericho to show up on the ppv, they would outright say it (meaning at least whoever is behind "save_us" will show up there, given the oversaturation of ppvs these days and how they are faring with the buyrates. All indications really point to next Monday by the vignettes, I think. Although I guess there is a chance to have him show up at the ppv given the similar nature in style to the vignettes and the Cyber Sunday themed look or whatever you would call it.

The DVR didnt record Raw tonight, but although the results sound ok on paper, looks like all I really missed for the most part was the Candice Michelle fall, which looks horrible from the gif here. It's too bad that happened, as she has a huge upside as far as women in this company go. Something went horribly wrong there as it makes no sense why she jumped when she clearly was being set up for a crotch bump on the top. Who is to blame is hard to say, although I wouldnt put it past Phoenix as she has always come across green and very unaware of working a fluent match whatsoever. Maybe that spot was supposed to be saved for later in the match or something? Actually looking forward to next week's show a great deal as I would expect more substantial storylines and programs formed leading into Survivor Series. I just am not feeling Cyber Sunday whatsoever for some reason.
-
It's almost gotta be a given that he will show up next Monday (given the 29 date in the latest vignette) or they could pull a fast one and have him show up at the ppv. It's starting to reach the point of enough already though, I really want to see this happen.

Some horror remake news since it seems like the neverending genre continues.... ** CHILD'S PLAY remake: Producer David Kirschner revealed this weekend that he is working on a remake of an old movie of his - the 1988 horror feature CHILD'S PLAY which introduced killer doll Chucky and spawned four increasingly comedy-driven sequels. "We're discussing it with Don Mancini, who has written all of them with us from the beginning. The next one we're going to do is we're going back and remaking the first one and even pushing it further and making a very terrifying version of the first one, which is pretty scary as it is". Will they use the same script? "I think it would be pretty close to it, that's for sure, but there's some other things that we're exploring also, and some twists that we don't want the audience to expect." No director has yet been considered, but he does confirm that it'll be an animatronic doll, not a computer generated or motion capture effect. (thanks to ShockTillYouDrop.com) ** THE BIRDS remake: Martin Campbell (CASINO ROYALE) will direct the re-imagining of the Alfred Hitchcock classic THE BIRDS for Platinum Dunes, Mandalay Pictures and Universal Pictures reports the trades. Naomi Watts has been attached for some time, but her involvement will depend on the script. The early talks with Campbell mean the production won't likely surface until after the possible directors and actors strike mid-next year. The studio says the redo will owe more to the Daphne du Maurier short story than the legendary 1963 Hitchcock film based on it which bore little resemblance short of the 'nature on the attack' angle. (thanks to DarkHorizons.com) ** APRIL'S FOOL DAY remake: Sony Pictures label Stage 6 Films has signed on to distribute the reimagination of the 1986 horror flick APRIL'S FOOL DAY, currently filming in North Carolina says The Hollywood Reporter. The new APRIL'S FOOL DAY revolves around a party given by two uber rich siblings, played by Taylor Cole and Josh Henderson, for their friend (Scout Taylor-Compton of the HALLOWEEN remake). Tragedy strikes when a friend falls over a balcony and dies. One by one, each partygoer is found dead. This remake will have more twists and off-beat comedic moments than the original. Mitch Altieri and Phil Flores (THE HAMILTONS) are directing and co-wrote the screenplay with Mikey Wigart. ------------ I think its so fucking stupid to do a Child's Play remake I can't even explain it. As for the Birds, I can understand that one and its good to see they are going in at least a unique direction there a bit. As for April's Fools Day, I just gotta say WHY??! Not that I'm so opposed to it, but it just seems a bit pointless since the original was ridiculously forgettable and with a similar premise to this one, I can't see it being any better.

I thought the show was just moving too fast to keep everything together about what was all going on. But it still was a noteworthy episode. Who is Kristen's Bell's "dad?"
-
Yeah I was way let down by the show tonight. Things were just kind of there in all aspects and didn't really lead to much overall.
-
I agree about the third one completely. A director's cut comes out on DVD tomorrow, which apparently has a bit more footage and I heard a different (or extended) ending.
