We're splitting heirs here, though. You're saying he's the most over, he may slightly be, but the reality probably is that the voting poll is heavily skewed by a younger percentage of the audience actually bothering to text in the first place, so that 79 percent result for Cena is far from really accurate. With that said, I think Cena really isn't that more relatively over than Batista is. It's really a toss up......they both cater, in some essenses, to two completely different demographics. I will say this much, I hardly ever hear Batista actually get heel heat. I can't say the same for Cena. They probably sell a relatively similar amount of merchandise as well. I think Batista was always kept on Smackdown for a reason......because him and Cena were, in essense, one of the same in terms of numbers to bring to the company, and they wanted him to balance that other show as such.

Build was ok for SummerSlam (Punk and JBL particularly had a good segment) and I liked the twist in the Kane deal......so he did something to Rey, or tried to, and got his mask? I totally was surprised by that. At least it will go somewhere. Good to see Cena/Batista lose the tag belts back to Dibiase and Rhodes, too. Ultimately, I still didn't see the whole compelling point to flip flop the belts like that, since it still could have done the same job done just as easy if this match was last week, the title change never happened as such, and this week was spent to build more of a creative last angle to build Cena/Batista.

I told people from day one, the company had no faith in Joe. I don't think it's that they dont have faith in him (I truly believe they do), they just don't get how they are booking him lately is making him look like shit. Typical needing to think outside the box stuff that the writing staff (and I don't necessarily just say Russo is to blame with this whole Jarrett coming back thing) just doesn't get in booking a significant majority of their champions, especially the babyface ones.

I think Dark Knight will have the legs to take the number one spot, somehow. Hell, I've seen it three times already myself and still am planning on seeing it one more time finally in the IMAX.

Exactly, and basically just being booked just as both Booker and even Joe himself has mentioned him (Joe) being, something about a paper indy champion, etc. He still hasnt proven anything in this Booker/Joe feud, in fact still looking like he CANT beat Booker. So he needed to get help from Jarrett to beat him. I swear if they aren't booking him into a heel here, I just don't get it because he's not being able to "prove" himself in the booking at all, in retrospect to, say, Punk on Raw. BTW, that errant shitty looking botched guitar shot to Booker to finish the match was just about prophetic and ironic as you get, if you think about it. This definately was a "miss" in terms of delivering strong to finish the ppv, and to address the points that the story between Booker and Joe has been built upon. Instead it came across ten times worse to me than Victory Road's finish, just because I thought THAT match was going to lead to some sort of strong ending from this match and put some sense/purpose to the feud. That sure didn't happen.

That Domino vignette seemed like it may have been something he did himself to try to create his own new gimmick of sorts, before he ended up getting released. For what its worth, I like it.

--The September TNA PPV will be headlined by either a tag team or trios match that would most likely build to a singles title match at Bound for Glory. (My guess is that it will be Joe/Styles/Jarrett v. Nash/Sting/Booker?) --Also, on either this weeks or next weeks Impact, the main event will be Gail Kim v. Awesome Kong.

I'm still laughing about that ridiculous ending to the ppv, wow........just wow......only in fuckin TNA. Seriously though, the rest of the pay per view, except Lethal/Dutt was tremendous, especially Styles/Angle. Unfortunately, that weapons cage match was, moreless, the shits. I don't get how it helps either Joe or Booker at all in that Jarrett supposedly sent a guitar from the rafters. I guess maybe thats the point, it wasn't supposed to be about them, more about how Jarrett is coming back, oh boy. Yee haw..... They might do Booker/Joe again at the next ppv, given the shmoz that finish was (again for Booker/Joe, two months in a row). And Styles/Sting as well. Jarrett probably officially returns at the next ppv too in some non-wrestling capacity (special ref for Booker/Joe?). Odds on Jarrett against Joe at Bound For Glory? I honestly hope not. I could see them do some four way match though, Sting/Nash/Jarrett/Joe for the title. And then Angle/Styles one last time as well on top. It's too bad the main event had to be such a craptastic deal, otherwise I thought the show was real good.

Main event is weak as hell so far. Well Joe just bladed so thats a start.

They will go near as top of the hour as they can.

All I can figure is I'm seeing a Nash/Sting v. Joe/Styles match next ppv, possibly.

I'm trying to think of the reasoning of Sting attacking Joe and Styles that won't constitute him going heel. And I'm drawing blanks. He thinks the younger guys don't respect the established guys? He's attacked both Joe and Styles when they have excessively attacked their opponents (after both matches have broken down or finished) like a heel would typically do. I don't know what that means exactly but thats the story of it, I guess.

WTF, after Styles did a heel move and came back to the ring to attack Angle one more time, Sting then shows up and lays out Styles?! Heel turn? lol at Nash just slowly walking out afterwards to talk to Sting.

Sick finish, top rope DDT, Styles wins. Strong match, but even if its a worked injury sell, thats an extremely dangerous move for Angle to take, a top rope DDT. My guess is Angle will sell an injury and then they will do Styles-Angle blowoff at Bound For Glory.

Wow, Angle taps out to the ANKLE LOCK for the first fall to attempt the ten count.

Holy shit, Styles took a sick bump off the entrance ramp to the floor, accidentally hitting his head on a stage light on the way down, ouch. Angle follows it with a somersault dive onto Styles on the floor from the ramp. Big spots there. Crowd is great tonight too, loud as hell.

That street fight match was pretty good, akin to the old ECW matches that went all over the arena, etc. Finish was kind of weak though, Bubba didn't go through the table spear spot. Abyss runs in after to no surprise. They're definately telling a story with Abyss that he's not using weapons anymore I guess, more reasoning why they are just probably going to call him Prince Justice here soon.

Which was preceded by a loud boring chant as well. This match was quite the mess, though, so the chants were worthy for TNA to not do another match like this again, and another storyline like this again for that matter. More Val stupidity with her freaking out over Lethal choking Dutt with the chain, but at least the finish was clean with no bullshit after the match. I'm betting that on Thursday, Val turns heel on Lethal and either goes with Dutt or another guy entirely.

Damn, Jay Lethal has a hot sister.

That was a damn good tag title match, total opposite from their match at the last ppv. That border toss was great. They played up the Homicide eye injury angle from the glass table well in how it played into the finish too. Beer Money deserved the belts after a match like that. What the fuck were Nash and Sting even referring to when Nash said "these guys just don't know" ---- know what?!

The women's match opened with one of the most unusual comedy spots Ive ever seen. Velvet Sky brings in some spray perfume and starts spraying it around the ring because she thought ODB was stinking it up. Then, ODB takes the perfume, acts like she might drink it or something, and then ends up spraying her own crotch with it. Rest of the match was alright, good crowd heat again, Kong gets in a lot of offense, Taylor pins Love with, surprise surprise, a rollup. Pretty standard stuff, at least the finish itself I thought could have been better, but the rest of it was not bad at all. 3D is looking for Sting and apparently they are both scared of the heights and/or the dark......ummm ok. Very stupid segment, the Duds don't play the bumbling idiots routine all that well, I'd just rather have them be redneck assholes and leave it at that. Beer Money v. LAX.....Filthee is doing the LAX theme live for their intro, people are into it. Way way better than the intro rap shit.

Very solid opener, both guys worked hard and the crowd (giving off a old ECW crowd type of heat, popping for right spots, cheering the heel more, pissing on Creed after he did a bad looking spot, etc) made the match fun too. Creed did a flip dive to the outside of the ring and hit his head hard on the end of the mat at one point. Daviari and his new gimmick showed up and costed Creed the match with a chairshot to Creed, followed by Petey hitting the Destroyer to a huge pop. After, Davairi cuts a decent promo in the ring with the red, white, and blue Creed being his first "target"....played up the arab gimmick bigtime here, against the USA type of thing. I'll say this much, that one segment made me more interested in Davairi than I ever was in WWE. Nash claims he is going to "take care" of Sting so he doesn't interfere in the main event, followed by Joe cutting a promo on Booker. Ladies tag up.....The BP got a new theme song that really sounds like shit.

PPV opens "the most hardcore ppv of the year" (according to Don West) with Sting showing up and not answering any questions before coming into the arena. The rap trio start the show to an almost zero reaction from the crowd. Really bad shit. Ice-T must have no-showed since he wasn't out there. Instead, Mel-E-Mel was out there acting like he was a wrestler. Another Don West line - "Get ready for violence!" Creed v. Petey is up....

Yup it started in October of 89. And ended in August of 90. The ending of the TCS stuff will be hilarious since they worked all of the last few matches in the TCS (and in the companies' existance) in a small studio covered in pink from top to bottom. Walls and ceilings (and maybe even floors) alike!

It was November of 89....I'm thinking they will probably go back to do all of 89 once they do the end run of the AWA shows from 90, as I think thats about all they have left for shows, that and I think the first part of 88, we have yet to see also.
