Unknown Player #1, #2, and #3 make an appearance on-screen at the end of ABC's Oklahoma-Kansas broadcast.

A&M had their chance but Graham Harrell just put the game away with his 5th TD of the game (3 passing, 2 rushing) to make it 43-25.

This year's Maryland team single-handedly manages to ruin my pick-em virtually every week. I pick them to win the games they should win and lose the games they should lose, and they go out and do the exact opposite almost without exception.
-
To be fair, Texas Tech is one of only 5 undefeated BCS teams at this point, so it's reasonable for them to be ranked where they are. Now, they will lose at some point, and when they do they should take a big drop, but until then their unbeaten record needs to be given its due.
-
I think the fallout from this game includes almost eliminating Utah's chances at making the title game. They would probably get in undefeated ahead of a 2-loss team, but now a win over BYU carries a lot less weight than if it were a battle of two unbeaten teams with a potential shot at the championship at stake, and will get a loss less media attention now as well. Combine that with the fact their opening win over Michigan looks less and less impressive every week, and I would guess that an undefeated Utah team would certainly be playing in the BCS, but not for the championship. This is all, of course, assuming they even beat TCU.

I love how the polls show gaps of 30ish points and then Jon King blames it on the +10 Democratic bias in the sample. Even if you assume that it would swing things by 10 points, that's still a 20 point win for Obama.
-
In the past two seasons the voters have demonstrated that the final poll can and will be shaken to "take the entire season into account", which is code for "reward the teams that played the toughest schedules/in the best conferences". If the SEC and Big 12 champions both finish with only 1 loss, then they are going to be in the title game unless Penn State goes undefeated (or there's a slight possibility that an undefeated BYU/Utah would make it in). In fact, I can see the big season-ending argument being over which conference's 1-loss champion (SEC or Big 12) deserves to play Penn State in the championship game.

The McCain camp is going ballistic at CNN having the audacity to show the video of Sarah Palin speaking to the Alaska Independence Party convention, comparing it to them running a story about Barack Obama's religion (which is hilarious on at least two levels: first, the assumption that a politicians political beliefs should be treated the same way as their religious beliefs; and second, because it insinuates that CNN didn't spend months talking incessantly about Jeremiah Wright this past spring and summer).

Does everything have to be some fucking massive conspiracy?

I guess the coaches were impressed by that lifeless 28-0 victory over a terribly overrated ASU team, where Mark Sanchez turned the ball over on 4 straight possessions. How anyone could justify voting for USC ahead of Florida and Oklahoma this week (not to mention, leaving BYU at 8 while jumping USC from 9 to 4) is just mind-boggling.
-
This score is EXTREMELY flattering to LSU.
-
Speaking of the SEC, LSU is getting killed by Florida right now.

Stanford beats Arizona: "The Pac-1 sucks outside of USC, there are no good teams, just a bunch of crappy ones beating each other!" Mississippi St. beats Vanderbilt: "This just shows the depth of the SEC, and how every team is good enough to beat every other team week in and week out!" Not every fan of an SEC school thinks that(the media, on the other hand...). Mississippi State sucks ass and Vandy managed to suck even worse than they could. And then you have the same shit happening with Auburn/Arkansas. I was referring more to the media/blog crowd. I have plenty of friends here at school who did their undergrad at SEC schools and have a realistic viewpoint of the weak and strong teams in the conference.

Yeah, seriously. I don't like Marvin and I still think he's starting to get a raw deal here. The way I see it, Marvin and NoCalMike are mirror images: they try to inform themselves, but their fundamental problem is that they're both stupid. They both repost long rambling articles that nobody reads, they scatter punctuation and spelling errors like birdshot, and they both maintain tinfoil headwear. They try hard and mean well, but they aren't very bright. Then there's bps21, who is a human blown fuse box. Let's share our special brand of love a little better here. I would say this argument might be valid if they were doing nothing other than exchanging partisan shots back and forth, but Marvin's "the economy is in a crisis because Mitt Romney didn't win the nomination" ranting transcends simple partisan bickering into a new level of political douchebaggery. It's not something that you will find offensive because you support Obama or McCain, it's something you will find offensive as a member of the human race who chooses to think in a rational manner.

USC with one of the least impressive 21-0 leads that I can recall. If Arizona State had any semblance of an effective offensive game and strategy they might be winning given all the mistakes USC (and Sanchez in particular) is making.

Some of the online blogs have also suggested that the Connecticut court decision legalizing gay marriage is good news for the McCain campaign because they can use it as ammunition to fight the culture wars during the rest of the campaign. I swear, if this election turns into "abortion, God, guns and gays" while the world economy spirals down the toilet, I am done with the human race.
-
Palin talking about abortion now in Pennsylvania. I guess they figure re-igniting the culture war and trying to get people to ignore the economy is their only shot at winning now that Ayers proved to be a bust.

So does Texas move up to #1 tomorrow?

Another BRUTAL personal foul call against Oklahoma.

Serious question: if Sam Bradford stays for another season (he's a redshirt sophomore so he could declare for the NFL draft this year), could he make a run at the unofficial title of "best college football player ever"?
-
Does the right-wing noise machine really think people still care about Ayers and Wright after the Clintons, with the help of the media, beat those "stories" to death already?

Electoral-vote.com has the rules up for tonight's "debate", and it's pretty much going to be impossible for either candidate to win or lose, especially big. The questions are all submitted in advance, neither the moderator nor the person asking is allowed to deviate from the pre-approved question, the mic gets cut off after the question is asked, and neither of the candidates are allowed to debate with each other. As they put it, it's effectively two press conferences happening in the same room.
