Sharon Osbourne sabotages Iron Maiden, cuts power
AboveAverage484 replied to Styles's topic in Music
I'm guessing name value. Which doesn't make sense at all since Anthrax offered to play Ozzfest for Free, and Anthrax has just as much name value and a more loyal following. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wait, what? I know Anhthrax was in negotiations but the story I heard is that they didn't think they were offered enough to do it. Why the hell would they play for free? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For some reason Sharon has something against Anthrax too. Why, I don't know. Scott Ian is one of the coolest dudes in metal. -
They should include his match with Davey Boy from 12/17/95. It's pretty tough to find that match anywhere.

Me and a friend of mine always get a kick when we see guys wearing pink shirts. Men were not meant to wear pink!
-
It's hard for me to concentrate on the guitar work in that song because the drums are so great that's all I hear when I listen to it.
-
The question was "best" not "worst."

So man is finally going to walk on the moon, eh? Damn, I'll be 34 by then

The Chili Peppers; but I chose Rage in the poll because I hate voting "Other."

I don't know, Araya hit some pretty high notes on Slayer's early albums. Listen to the beginning of "Angel of Death." (youve probably heard it)
-
Well, "Among the Living" and "Sound of White Noise" are probably their two best studio releases. After that I'd recommend "Spreading the Disease", "Persistence of Time", and "Fistful of Metal", in that order. Then get one of their greatest hits CD's to pick up the rest of the good songs, because their other albums are pretty lackluster. Yeah, ATL has four really good songs (title track, Indians, Caught in a Mosh, I Am the Law) and a couple pretty good ones (N.F.L. and Skeleton in the Closet) all in all making for a pretty damn good metal album. Too bad it was the only true classic that Anthrax ever released.
-
I don't remember who mentioned it, but the "7 Day Theory" is probably 2Pac's worst album. Biggie was good, but Rakim (style and flow wise) and Chuck D (lyrics wise) were both better. I always think the GZA is underrated as well when it comes to "best MC's" arguments.

Have you seen any of the "Living Dead" trilogy?

Forgive me if this has already been posted, but I found this on DVDR and thought it to be quite possibly the coolest thing ever. Basically, the fellas at DVDR decided that since they already had the top matches of the 90's, they would put together a top matches of the 80's list too. How they do it, however, is way better than the last method used for the 90's (users sending in their top 20 lists). This time they are having posters nominate matches, 100 matches are chosen by the DVDR braintrust. Those matches are then recorded to DVD and sent out to voluntary posters who then proceed to watch ALL 100 MATCHES, before deciding on their own top 20. The votes are then tabulated and the list made. I was quite impressed. So far, here are the 100 matches nominated (with link to source): http://board.deathvalleydriver.com/index.php?showtopic=40899 Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage (3/29/87 Wrestlemania 3) Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Savage (4/2/89 Wrestlemania 5) Brainbusters vs. Hart Foundation (8/28/89 SummerSlam 89) Sgt. Cereals that taste worse as you get older
AboveAverage484 replied to Brett Favre's topic in Food Folder
It seems like they changed that in my generation too (I'm 21); I seem to remember Honey Smacks being called Sugar Smacks back in the day. I've never been able to eat chocolate cereals, but for someone reason S'mores is probably my favorite cereal right now. -
Greatest WWF Matches of the 80's
AboveAverage484 replied to AboveAverage484's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't know if they are still sending out DVD's for WWF or not, but there is still plenty of time to get in on all the American regional goodness in the coming weeks. -
Heh, heh, 69.

Christopher Reeve's widow has lung cancer
AboveAverage484 replied to UZI Suicide's topic in Current Events
That sucks pretty bad, lung cancer is the most lethal form of cancer, only 15% survive it. -
Greatest WWF Matches of the 80's
AboveAverage484 replied to AboveAverage484's topic in The WWE Folder
Ahhhh, but they're not being sold, my friend. The price the voters pay is finding the time to watch 100 matches and then proceeding to rank the top twenty. -
If we only put inactive fighters into the HOF, than only five fighters from that list would be placed into it; Rickson, Funaki, Frank Shamrock, Bas, and Mo Smith. Everyone else has fought at least once in the past year.
-
Just my two cents but Akira Maeda should DEFINITELY be on there for "mamagerial/historical" purposes. I'm sure Lei could elaborate on him more than I could. As for the six fighters, I'll say Sakuraba, Coleman, Rutten, Couture, Shamrock, and Royce. Maybe not for everything they did in the ring/octagon, but their overall contributions to the sport as a whole; for example, I believe Rutten has had way more influence on MMA as a commentator than as a fighter, same with Shamrock as a spokesperson/pro wrestler who drew attention to the sport back in its infancy.

Make the tracklisting for greatest hits albums
AboveAverage484 replied to King Kamala's topic in Music
AC/DC (Can't believe they haven't had one yet) No witty title I can think of at the moment; I'm also sure I could fit more than 24 songs on two discs, but whatever. Disc 1 1. Jailbreak 2. It's a Long Way to the Top 3. The Jack 4. T.N.T. 5. High Voltage 6. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 7. Big Balls 8. Let There Be Rock 9. Whole Lotta Rosie 10. Riff Raff 11. Sin City 12. Highway to Hell 13. Walk All Over You Disc 2 1. Hells Bells 2. Shoot to Thrill 3. Back in Black 4. You Shook Me All Night Long 5. For Those About to Rock 6. Who Made Who 7. Thunderstruck 8. Moneytalks 9. Big Gun 10. Hard as a Rock 11. Ballbreaker -
Hey, Vedder's pretty cool, anyone who shuns MTV is A-ok with me.

Speaking of Atlanta traffic, a couple weeks ago I was driving to Birmingham from Asheville, NC and I got stuck in traffic in Atlanta. No surprise there, then suddenly the traffic stops and doesn't move for like ten minutes straight. There is this big billowing cloud of black smoke and I roll down my window and stick my head out and see this car on fire up ahead. Apparently it had just wrecked and caught on fire as there were no fire trucks or cherry tops or anything there. So I sat there for about thirty minutes in the 150 degree downtown Atlanta freeway heat til I decided to turn my car back on because I needed some AC. Thankfully traffic finally started moving so I thought I was home free after that, until I hit I-20 and it was stop and go for like twenty more minutes until I was out of Atlanta. Damn I hate that city's interstates. *Probably just described Ripper's everyday trip to work*

If Transformers wasn't enough..

Forget Voltron, when are they gonna make a "Biker Mice from Mars" or a "Bucky O'Haire" movie. -
My cats still tear up the sofas in the living room and they're like three years old now, little bastards. They used to do the kick thing too, but I don't think their claws are out when they do it, so no harm, no foul.

Why did he leave in the first place, I can't remember. Everybody seems to forget how good Kemp was, especially when he was at his peak in the '96 Finals. He just gets shit on by a lot of people because of his personal life.
